I reckon if I travelled to the States and travelled through this beautiful Wyoming wilderness, I'd just cry. Cry of happiness, as it's truly a dream of mine for countless years to visit North America & Canada. So so beautiful. Not only reversing to try and get out but if that doesn't work, you can always disconect the trailer. The Jeep gets out easier. Recover the trailer with an upside-down maxtrax strapped under the trailers hitch. An hour and a half of fun learning and memories though. I always look back and appreciate those sort of situations. So, I also suggest to sit back a bit, have a cup of tea, relax and think about what to do in these situations. Except if you're in deep water, move fast if possible.
Great advice! Thanks and we’ll definitely file that away in our bag of tricks. Wyoming was amazing, we’ll definitely be back. Hope you can experience it too someday! Safe travels!
Well that’s an awfully nice compliment and we’re glad you’re enjoying the content. We should have another new episode ready pretty soon. Stay tuned and thanks for following along! :)
A little late to the party, but just came across this video series. Thanks for sharing, brought back some great memories. We drove this trail about 2 years ago when it hadn't been particularly wet recently, so we didn't have any issues. But we could tell from the deep dips and ruts that this trail could be a real challenge! It's funny your wife mentioned that y'all hadn't passed anybody, I say the same thing when we're on a trail with unfamiliar intel and that always makes me a little nervous 🤣
Always a little nervous when we haven’t seen anyone, but we’ve got good comms for emergencies, so that eases the anxiety a bit. Safe travels and thanks for watching!
New viewer. Liked and subscribed and I have a question. I’ve got a little part time channel for fun but I can’t decide on a vendor to source some music. What have you tried? I’ve sampled a couple but one popular license free vendor (Epidemic) leans toward electronic type music more and that’s not my style really. Well, I do have a weakness for the Stranger Things kinda music (4:10). lol Thanks for any feedback. Great narration. Good selection of music. I felt immersed in the experience. 👍🏼
Thanks for coming along on our journey and thanks for the feedback! All the music we use is royalty free, licensed though Epidemic Sound. We’ve never had an issue with them finding the right music for the soundtrack of our videos. Hope this helps :)
Just suscribed! Great videos, very enjoyable. Did you get stuck on a sidetrail to the ridge or on Greys River Road? Do you think Greys is passable pulling a 5000 lb trailer with a HD truck? Was your trip in June. Thx for sharing!
This episode was in late June. We were stuck heading to Monument Ridge on Forest Rd 30530 aka Cliff Creek Road. Greys River Road is well maintained. Shouldn’t have issues there. We have another couple episodes highlighting the Greys area and beyond. Thanks for watching and subscribing! I'm looking at doing this as my first badge of honor trail. When did you guys run it? Curious because I was reading that they added culverts and it's a lot less muddy than it used to be.
This would have been June of 2021. This mud hole is notorious for eating rigs. It’s actually on Cliff Creek Road or Forest Road 30531 just to the west of the Monument Ridge trail intersection. If you come in from the east and back out the same way, you’d avoid it altogether. We saw culvert work to the east when we were there. Not sure if this one has been changed since we were there. Thanks for watching and best of luck!
The rig is a 2016 JKUR with the 3.6. We’re running 4.88 gearing. Plenty of power at the wheels for towing, even uphill. Overheating is still an issue on sustained steep climbs, but normal highway driving is fine. We’re not winning any races, but not struggling power wise. Thanks for watching!
I love Alicia’s laugh!
We’re just glad she was able to laugh at this one 😆 Thanks for watching!

@@SixOverland Thank you very much.

You've got a beautiful family, thank you for sharing your adventures.

The sound when the bogged maxtrax came free from the mud! Man that was some sludge you guys found yourselves into!
Nasty, nasty mud! Lessons learned!
Great video! That was some nasty mud! You’ve sold me on getting some traction boards asap!
Normal Jeeping, we wouldn’t have even considered traction boards… but overlanding? Especially solo, they’re a must. Thanks for watching!

@@SixOverland Thanks. I’ll go back and see if it’s just me not effectively searching. Any tips there?

What engine and differential gears do you have in that Jeep? Do you have any problems pulling down highway speeds?
