Don't buy punch ev , had very bad experience , car brake down on the day of delivery not even cross the Showroom gate. It had brake vibration, drl was not properly fitted, steering was tilted. You cannot trust it.
How is the AC performance.... It is a deal breaker for me

Sir, I have bought Punch EV 3 months back. Day by day, the range (with AC on) increased from 250 to 300km (with energy efficiency 110-120).
We live in north India and during extreme hot weather (40 degree+), the range decreased to 200-210, and energy efficiency increased to 160 (shocking).
The climate system is consuming more battery (what I have observed!).
Means, range has now decreased from 300 km to 200-220 km, i.e. more than 80-90 kms, which is a big figure! On the other hand, my driving behavior has improved from 7 to 8 (so range should increase, right ?).
My daily kilometer calculations are being disturbed and now I am charging my car 3 more days in a month (consuming more electricity). This reduced range issue is also with one of my known, who is also using same PUNCH EV car.
One thing more, this issue is not with my friend's Nexon EV, as it's range is reduced by 30-40 km only (during peak summers).
Sir, I have approached Tata, but their response is not satisfactory. I have also shared my driving behavior figures, range display screenshots with them.
What to do, please help!!

Hello Sir, I am looking for a family car. This will be my 1st car. Total running - 700 to 1000 per month. Mostly city. I have 2 options for now. 2021 - Jazz Top Model Automatic @ 8.5 Lakhs or 2022 Baleno top Model 9 Lakhs .. which one should I go or I can go with the new one just suggest . My budget is maxmium 8.5 lakh.
see it based on your preferences like safety, mileage, features and brand service center near you
safety wise honda is better, mileage wise you know maruti baleno is better, features wise both will give you decent features, aur brand service centre jo ghar ke paas ho. so there are lot of things to be considered before buying a car
I am among first few to take delivery of punch ev, no doubt vehicle is super but facing software issue, vehicle have popped up autonhold failure twice in first 1000 kms run. As per service station software update is expected by 15th Feb.

For new drivers is it better if I talked about safety and service and in all areas and tier 2 ya tier 3 city mein ev ko Lena chahiye ya nahi agar service centre ya showroom na ho toh please answer thx sir
See it is not about new or old drivers. you can take it if you can manage to charge it at home conveniently and you have a service center of the brand near by (within 40-50 km range). but if it is not there then you should choose the brand whose service center is near by your home

Tata has reduced the prices of EV recently (Nexon & Tiago), reason because the battery prices have reduced. sure they will do this for Punch in the future

Hi MotorByte, This is with regard to FAME II subsidies. As as far as I know, it is still currently active till March 2024 and all electric vehicles are included including EV passenger cars. However, responding to my e-mail query on this, TATA MOTORS replied to me negatively and says presently NO SUBSIDIES ARE AVAILABLE FOR EV PASSENGER CARS nerither from Central Government nor State Government (in my case Maharashtra). Almost all online sites still showing that subsidies are indeed active for EV private cars. Please confirm the current status.
this depends on state to state, as i my city (Delhi or Haryana), no subsidy is there. but in UP there is some sort of subsidy is there. This needs to be confirmed from the local dealer and authority only

Font passenger doesn't get grab handle.
No reading lamps for real passengers.
No sun shades in the doors.
No rear ac vents, no rear charging port, no seat belt weight sensor, no spare wheel. Too much cost cutting for this price.
Even tiago ev has basics covered for this.
Which tax rebate is currently available in India for EV? I believe it was for loan which were approved till 31March 2023

see it not only depends on AS or without AC, it depends on various other factors as well, like how you drive the car, at which speed, which mode, weather conditions, etc

we drove tthis car in bangalore when it was launched by Tata, practical range for LR will be 280-300 if you drive it on 60-80 km spedd in a city traffic

EV doesn't make any sense for now. After 5 - 6 years there is no resale value as car would need a battery change the next year. Also the 5 to 6 lakhs rupees extra for the EV doesn't make sense unless someone is commuting 100 plus kms daily, not to mention non-existent charging infrastructure in Indian highways
