TATA Should combine the lower power motor with the 35kWh Battery pack to increase the practical range. It will reduce cost also. Mostly there is no need for that much power & torque in city conditions. Customers will like that combination more.
What is the max battery degradation percentage post which Tata repairs / replaces the battery ? And what is the cost of replacing one cell of the battery?

Sirji Battery Life is expressed in Cycles .
One cycle is= One full charge from 0 to 100% and one full discharge from 100 to 0 %. This is managed by BMS or Battery Management Systems.
The cycles can be 2000 to 4000 cycles for different batteries.
If I purchage Tata Punch EV. We can add more battery to increase the range

What is the criteria to decide that battery needs replacement. I can see people commenting that the range is decreased after 1 month.
The display meter shows battery health in bars. Generally it is 12 bars .And 100% . Over a 12:49 period of time the battery will degrade and when it reaches 80% it means the efficiency is reduced.
At this stage entire battery is not replaced but after checking all the cells only those cells which are bad need to be changed and battery comes back to 100% .
This can be repeated many times .

अभी तक की बैट्री टेक्नोलॉजी में ev लेना एक अच्छा विकल्प नहीं है। शायद हम भविष्य में ऐसी बैट्री बना पाए जो ev में यूज हो सके,अभी तक तो हम एक परफेक्ट चार्जर भी नही बना पाए हैं, लीथियम के एक सैल को यूज करना अलग बात ह,और माल्टिप्ल सैल को यूज करना अलग बात है, टाटा को हर 4 साल बाद सैल चेंज करने पड़ते हैं, ये जो 2000 साइकिल की बात करते है,वो एक सैल पर लागू होती है, मल्टीपल सैल की लाइफ हाफ हो जाती है।

Punch is not worth its price at all.. interiors are not great. In 80 % charging on the top model was showing 170 kms ..asked the sales guy. Who had no clue.. the gear shifters were malfunctioning..sad affairs of things

Bhai simple language mein samjhao. Battery Life is expressed in Cycles .
Batttery Cycle can be defined as
One Cycle = One full Charge and One full Discharge .
Now different battery have different Numbers of cycles .
In this case let us take 2000 cycles .
For example if we are able to drive 200 kilometers in one cycle and we drive it down to zero Everyday.
Then we can extrapolate the life as 200 x 2000= 4,00,000 kilometers.
Now if we do this daily then it will be 5.47 years .
But in real life it will be different .
Now this battery is not made as one piece but is made of individual cells like our our normal AA type cells .
Only those cells which go bad can be replaced to make the battery new or 100% .
And this can be repeated infinitely.
Worst case scenario the battery can be used as storage in the house for life time .
It is surprising people paying high for more problamatic technology .
It is expensive shift of technology, EV cars dose not deserve high price.
Should have asked if EV car companies are unable to sell EV in low price let China do as China is selling cars and scooters at much much low cost in China.
It is funny India found lithum in kashmir and still benifit not provided to buyers.
Charge EV for 12 hours then will run for 3 to 4 hours.
Who will pay such high cost for such underdeveloped EV technology it is no where nere oil run cars.
If EV have to become future it be sold at low price as dose not deserve high cost.
First of all TATA should focus on improving after sales service.
Greetings, Tata company was started for mainly focus for Indian and Indians, however tata cars started well, however they lost focus, after few indian successfully cars, now they give very low service experience and value cars, now they either focus on big cars and vehicles, now only for average family indian 7 seater car only maruti, Kia, now toyota rumion and some of few, bit mahindra and tata has just turned their back, now they only for high-end cars and experience.
Very less indain families patronize their cars.
We need Tata Nexon with at least 700/KM range...so that non stop driving of 500/ km is possible in practical

Aur doosra jis din 700 Km wali battery aa gayi us din 1500 Km wali demand karenge.

Tata should bring one battery replacement after 8 years for an upfront payment of may be 50k at the time of vehicle purchase.
This is such a nice idea, we will definitely try to convey this to them when the next time we have any interaction with them
Why are you stuck at the figure of 8 years when in reality you don’t need to change to a new battery.
The entire battery does not go bad . Only few cells go bad and can be replaced easily and infinitely to keep the battery in 100% health.
Also every 50,000 kms cell balancing is performed by the company and soon private players will offer it.
Battery will last 13 years or more depending on the complete cycles.
For example. Let us take the battery life as 2000 cycles. Which means One full charge and full discharge .
Let us assume you do it daily and for each full charge you drive 200 kms.
Now at this rate 200 Km x2000 cycles= 4,00,000 kms can be driven .
And in terms of years it will be 2000 / 365 days = which is 5.47 years .
And after that only few cells changed and battery is new .
And up front payment of 50,000 is not a practical and profitable idea for the company. Already people are complaining about the price of EV and this will be a huge issue.
Instead why not you Put 50,000 in FD or Mutual Fund .

Too costly. Tata punch adventure AMT costs less than 900000 on road price whereas tata punch adventure electric costs more than 1500000 i.e. about 600000 extra that too without spare tyre. Kya ise kifayatee kahenge. 600000 cover karne main 8 saal lagenge. Aur tab electric car kee battery kaa issue suru ho sakta. Taxis ke liye theek hai. Unhe chalana bhee kafee parta hai, maintenance bhee kam aur profit bhee jyade. Can b useful in metro city as well but due to jams metro has replaced cars. Can b useful only for leisure and lifestyle travel. Cant decide at all. Also it will get outdated like nexon electric has now get outdated. If battery feauture of punch can b replaced after 8 years in nexon ev old models.

Sir, I have few questions regarding the EV which even the dealeahips don't have answer to.
I own Nexon EV it's 1.5 years old in Trip A meter as of today it shows 71 KWh/km, which is decreasing everyday. On the other hand, Trip B show 146 KWh/ km which is not getting decreased as trip a meter. So my first question is What does this mean as it's written AVG. followed by the no's mentioned above?
Second, what does this drop in numbers signify?
It's a big concern for me and I am scared too as it is dropping very significantly.

The trip meter numbers you are talking are the same as the fuel mileage in the petrol diesel cars.
In your case Trip A meter is showing 71 KWH / Km or in other words the mileage .
Now this should be reducing as the mileage improves . The lower the number better the mileage .
This reading is dynamic and keeps changing constantly.
This is alright.
The second meter is a cumulative number and it is okay.
So don’t worry and be happy and keep driving .
Be light footed and make the best use of regenerative braking .
What choices do you have for regenerative braking. I mean how many levels . Keep your settings in position 2 for maximum benefit

Most of the EV in India are Low or Medium Range Vehicles. Most of them have battery packs of 35 KW or less power batteries. Only one or two models are real long range offered by BYD.

But In India is there any Evs which has done 1,60000 kms? Might be very few I guess. Is there any vehicles completed 2000 charging cycles to confirm the battery strength after that? The warranty is only till approximately 625 charges . Its all predicted or rather expected life. BTW I have already booked an EMPOWERED + variant of Punch. Lets see how it goes.
There is one ownership video where nexon completed 160k in 2 yrs...and his car gives same range as new he too believes his car will atleast complete 5 lakh
The technology of testing life cycles of battery is quite accurate and all the manufacturers are testing it . Even storage batteries for household use can be accurately tested and predicted for life cycles.
Only commercial vehicles or taxi vehicles can drive that many kilometers in real life .

I had taken Tata Nexon EV facelift, whose claimed range was 325 KM which has reduced to 195 KM in 1 month. The reality is completely opposite to what TATA claims.I run it in L3 and ECO without AC, still it is not giving mileage in city.
