@@ajTwist That struck me as something really unique! I do have some issues with bending my left hand on the usual Hitbox layout, and your design looks like a good solution to keeping both hand straight in ergonomic fashion. Looking forward to that video. Cheers!
thanks so much for having us on to talk about the Primal Hitbox, it was a blast meeting/talking with you, and as always the videos are so well edited and clean
Thanks for the interview and the interest in my fight stick split design! 1:50 -- I wish I was more informative about the design. Also shout out to the one guy at 11:24 I feel your pain in all that you said.
Hi, I'm the guy at 11:24! It's great to see a kindred spirit, and I need to talk to you about your split board, it's too cool to pass up an opportunity to learn from.
That cardboard box, man… It’s hilarious to lay out multiple rows of redundant buttons, just so you never have to learn how to do a 360. The struggle is real 😂
You know what I love the most, the people who’ve gone and made the most ergonomic controller for themselves. I feel like ergonomics are so important but under appreciated
a perfect controller is, here me out, the power glove. but each finger is 2 buttons, one activated by lifting)or lowering) finger, the other by bending it(so you can press 2 buttons at same time with each finger), joystick for thumbs with a click down button.
The one for big hands is inspiration. Most arcade sticks I have used have been way too small for me. And using pad is getting annoying for fighters. Great video my man!
That ''3rd iteration leverless'' can actually pass security checks in airports? Cool video, controller is such an important part of players personality, it's fun to see!
I'm hoping to see more designs like that. The Frame1 and some other controllers made for Smash have a nice spacing like that, but for whatever reason most of these controllers cram everything in the middle.
@@SoundToxin My assumption as to why, would be that they wanted to imitate what was in the arcades, which was cramped. My first fightstick was for PS1, and made to match the SF2ST cabs back then, which was not only cramped, but bulky and very stiff controls compared to Japanese peripherals. Now that competitive arcades are dying even in Japan, the move to the home-space has led to more innovation in ergonomic designs, because people want to be more comfortable. Right now, I'm trying to experiment on making the thinnest lever base ever, just so I can get the thickness of the overall fightstick down to something akin to the m-press.
@@TMNTfeverYeah, that's a very good point. They are originally copying arcade cabinet controls. Just a bit crazy how long people waited to try improving on the layout and how most controllers still don't innovate much.
I love fightsticks so much, I tried playing with a fightstick once but just really couldn't get myself used to the button placement even after months of practice with it so I still stick with pad when I'm playing but every now and then I'd whip out the fight stick when I play with friends and its still a lot of fun even though I'm not as good with it!
I have a B15SDM stick that was made back in 2011, I love it with all my heart, its a little outdated now and im currently in the process of restoring it to its rightful glory.
Human ingenuity is boundless, fighting gamers' doubly so. I'm reminded of when I went to CEO 2021 (mainly for the attached AEW PPV) and saw a dude with a hitbox made out of a Tupperware container using Cherry MX Reds. Respect the scuff.
Great Video! As a huge Arcade/FightStick fan, I love videos like that. It's my personal EVO Highlight! Small tip for the cameraman (next time): Show more of the Sticks. Make more upclose shots. Zoom at the wireing and the Art etc. Keep it up!
I loved the video. Small note, not that important, and maybe I am reading too much into it, but I think you should try to ask permission to touch or grab the controllers in the future, just a quick "is it cool if I bring it up to the camera?" kind of thing :) I think that is a common thing with some people when they do an interview as well where they just grab things to show closer to the camera but it can come off as awkward sometimes I think and it felt like some of the people were not ready for you to touch them, though again, maybe I am wrong. Awesome sticks!
1:41 I like that one. Something like that + locks at different widths would be nice. Edit: oh didn't notice the Trogdor shirt either. Props for that. Edit 2: and 4:03 also very cool. You got a camper van? Get solar, a computer and that tiny thing and you have a proper setup on the go.
Interesting video! I've always wondered how many modded controllers are being played on in Evo? There have to be at least a few that make it into the tournament...
Does anyone know who the seller is for the flat hitbox-style controller that starts at 4:09? It doesn't seem to be Paradise, cause I can't find it on their website.
I'm a bit saddened that there weren't any mirrored / left handed controllers shown here. I have a custom hitbox with the movement buttons on the right and the attacks on the left and it's also completely mirrored, so lights are on the right and heavies are on the left. I also switched up and down since I'm used to hitting down with my thumb and up with my middle finger. I really should go to EVO some day.
the real ergonomic posture should be with your wrists facing each other (with your hand pinky side facing the floor), if your hands are not in a straight line with your arms you will get carpal tunnel, that is a real issue with people like me that work on pc all day, leverless is not going to help your wrists health

Might aswell since the servers are gone
the one guy that made the stick using the drawer rails is spot on, wish I could know more about this design
I'm really curious about how it connects both parts, do they run a cable from the stick to the PCB through the drawer rails? 🤔
@@estebanacostaolivera3232 You can see when he pulls it apart there is a black/blue cable running along one of the rails.
