MAINTENANCE OIL LIFE LIGHT RESET ON 2016-2018 HONDA CIVIC

  • How to reset the oil/maintenance light on a 2016 2017 2018 Honda Civic - Key or Push to Start models. instructions are below.
    Step 1. Turn the ignition key to position “ON” (II) without starting the engine, If your vehicle has a Smart key button, press the “Start” button twice without touching the brake pedal.
    Step 2. Press the INFO button (located on the steering wheel) repeatedly until "wrench icon" appears on the display
    Step 3. When OIL LIFE appears on the display, press and holds the ENTER button for about 10 seconds to reset
    Step 4. Scroll down and select ALL DUE ITEMS
    Step 5. Press the ENTER button to confirm to reset

    that doesnt work on a 16 civic with a regular ignition key - its totally different 🤕

    Thank you very much. Just one little correction on 2019 Civic you should choose A, not 1. Video is very helpful.

      My 17 had to be reset through the touch screen.

    Wrong! Item 0 is oil. Item 1 is not oil. Thats why people are saying it's not working.

    It is just an alert based on miles right? I'll take a look at my oil stick but I'm sure the full synthetic oil should last longer than 5k miles, so I was going to reset it even though I haven't changed the oil. Alert is just annoying

      this part is confusing, but i think that is the correct behavior (the code will vary depending on where you are in the maintenance cycle). i think, according to the owner's manual, that this means a 'b' service is recommended at the next oil change (when the 'oil life' meter approaches 0%).

    Sorry bro, u r wrong, Item A is engine oil, item 1 is rotate tire. Go to owners manual on page 130.

    Oil life was "Item B" on the '17 model I had

    I want the Oil Life 100% to clear off of my dash so I can see my throttle again, but it wont. How do I do that?

      On 00:53 as u can see on the left side of steering wheel, right under the volume button, press the button, then scroll left to KM sign and select that.
