    Glad o see all is well. Remember the days when you just popped the air cleaner cover changed filter and you were good to go. Those were the days you didn't need electronic reminders to tell you to change a filter. You just knew your car and what needed to be done and you did it. Anyway Dave stay cool and well Artie. 😄😄😄

    Amazon has both air filters for about $13 each, rounded up roughly to $30, after taxes. Then about 15 minutes of DIY work and done. I had a dealership quote me almost $500 to replace both.

      I brought my car in for a tsb but they lured me in and tried to charge me almost 200 bucks for filters... I do my own work usually but figured the parts were covered. They then told me they didn't have the part even though i told them specifically why I was going there and then wanted to charge 411 dollars for the tsb. I ordered the parts i needed for 20 bucks and got my own filters online for 25 bucks. Dealers are scum

  • @txmoney
    @txmoney ปีที่แล้ว

    This is the easiest DIY maintenance you can do for your Civic. The dealership charges over $200 to replace both filters for a total of 15 minutes of labor. (They might also try to up-sell you a cabin air filter flush for $200. That’s a waste of money). If you do it, the total cost should be no more than $60 (including tax and shipping) for the OEM filters in the same amount of time.
    NOTE: With the 1.5 liter models, you’ll need an 8mm JIS socket screwdriver to remove the engine air filter cover. You could use a Philips-head screwdriver but that might strip the hex nuts (that resemble screws).

    I also had an issue with the engine air filter housing getting stuck despite unclipping the snaps. I tried gently shimmying it and pulling it toward me, but it was still stuck. I finally got it open by exerting enough force that I was legitimately concerned I would break it. Thankfully it's still in once piece.

    Hey, I just did this service on a customer's 2014 Odyssey and used my MS906BT to reset item #2. It asked me if the mileage was correct (it said 00000,) I said no, entered the correct mileage and reset it. However, when I went back in to look it didn't enter the correct mileage. In fact, it didn't change the mileage number at all for item 2. On my own 08 Odyssey when I reset and enter the mileage it saves the correct mileage. Have you seen this issue with the Autel scan tools and the later model Hondas?

    How do you reset the minder thru the dashboard panel?

    • @BigDog50001
      @BigDog50001  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      For the Civic in this video:
      1.Turn ignition ON (not running).
      2.If system message(s) are displayed, press the INFORMATION switch or Audio Remote/Multi-Information Display Switch to cancel the display until the "Maintenance Minder" icon is displayed, then press the Source/Enter button.
      3.Display shows the remaining engine oil life, and then press and hold the Source/Enter button for 10 seconds or more. The "Maintenance Reset" mode appears on the multi-information display.
      4.If you reset all the maintenance items shown on the display "A23 (for example)", select "All Due Items" by pressing the Audio Remote/Multi-Information Display Switch and press the Source/Enter button. If you reset each maintenance item individually, select an item you wish to reset by pressing the Audio Remote/Multi-Information Display Switch and press the Source/Enter button.
      5.The maintenance item code(s) will disappear, and the engine oil life will reset to "100 %."

      On many Hondas you can reset individual maintenance items when using a scan tool. When using the vehicle itself, it will sometimes reset multiple or all maintenance items.
