Games a bit too easy imo, even on True Zenoiran. They need to buff enemy gear sets on the higher difficulties, I hope they patch it in but I wont hold my breath. Still an amazing game.
Its easy for some people because theyve spent hours finding ways to break the game by watching vids on broken builds, cheesing the colisseum and/or grinding for rare items and levels. Lots of people still find the game really difficult.@@LordDeathNote

I have I version of this using Berengaria as my Frontline since her healing pursuit is free vs afflicted units, it keeps her really well sustained

Played with Bruno and the lion guy through most of my expert play through. They had a hard time surviving in Albion. I recommend the tough belt. It gives death resist, which I found to be vital to keeping him up at later stages.

It's great that you're highlighting this squad, as I've been using a very similar squad from early on with Bruno up front, backed with Yahna, Berenice, and Shannon the cleric. Shannon can use active heal to keep Bruno topped off and give him an extra row attack with Active Heal, and can also clear Stun and other statuses, while Yahna's magic conferral allows him to cleave through armors. The Sellsword in the backline has maximum attack to counter anything that touches Bruno. It only struggles with evade tanks. Really fun squad!
i love this game. this is what i was needing. there is so much different builds you can go and all can be good
I have a similar burn squad, but it has a healer over the sellsword, and the druid casts offense curse on action 1 so that the team survives a lot better. They only have trouble with elf / heal squads, because of how many anti status options they have. They almost always kill in one battle, so the extra burn feels kind of unneeded for the survivability loss

I remember the squad you fight around level 10-12 in cornia that was double gladiator double shaman and all had an extra PP. Hurt my soul to clear them out and how much abuse they could take
If you find a fire axe or if your witch gets an extra PP you could put Aubin in the back, and get that housecarl row strike too
I've got a similar squad, but got the wyvern lady instead of Bruno, why? Because her fire breath + the book, is burn x2, plus the shaman, makes for 3x burn. Pretty sick.
This is great, I might give this a go next playthrough though. My Lex (your recommended stats and with Pursuant's Bracelet ) , Bruno (with Sangunie Axe) , Ithilion (with Kingblade Cornix, Carnelian Pedant, Warrior's Medallion and Silken Scarf) and a Witch with a Go Getter/Offensive build with a Dancers Anklet seems to be working out very well. In my run of the game I haven't found the Retaliation Earrings Earrings and either tome yet. I spent 20min last right trying to see if a Towns shop had it and I missed it.
Bruno and Audin were my second hardest hitting crew from beginning to end.
I still love watching these build.videos even after moving on from the game
My Gladiator squad has Rolf, Rosalinde, and Sharon in the back row. Bruno focuses on wide smashes and counter wide smashes. Rolf uses dual shot with rosalinde adding ice to it. Rosa also uses freezing thrust when not at max hp for primus edge. Sharon is used to active heal Bruno for an extra AP, along with keeping the team healthy. She also has Magic barrier for magic blocking.
I don't have a burn-dedicated squad yet. My main attack squad would be Fran in the front to mow down enemies. Back row is Kitra, Mordon, and Scarlett. This squad makes quick work of cavalry and armored units.
I'm at the point where all 10 slots have 4 units and I still have spare unique characters to assign somewhere. Can't decide if I want to unlock 5th spot for 200 honor or keep promoting existing units for 25-50 honor.
First for the nitpick. Landsknecht is pronounced "L-ah-ndskn-eh-cht".^^
Also, funny you mentioning your old Auch squad. I think i evolved your old "Auchs Pyromaniacs" squad with a similar set up. I call the set-up "Burning Passion of House Aubrey-Meillet".
The set up is Auch, Selvie, Melisandre and Corm. Corm tanks, Melisandre removes pesky thieves and applies burn with the rapier, Selvie applies burn and buffs Auch and Auch does his thing.^^
I start to run into some issues right now, since the Squad is not promoted yet, but i am sure this problem solves itself once the promotions are complete.
Just in case you run out of ideas to showcase in a year or so and want to start showcasing other peoples ideas.^^

This looks great! just wondering where I get the flaming rapier, the acrobats boots, and the flame hex staff - I have googled it and there doesn't seem to be info online yet
All of these are acquired in either Cornia or Drakenhold. Just liberate each city and check the shops.
Burn really go well with stun. Any time a unit “recover” from a stun it will also proc burn damage
Hence why Berengaria is sucha juicy candidate for flame conferral
Front row does target allies if the ability is a positive one like flame conferral and having it on front works out really well in case Bruno gets stunned by a stun arrow from some select snipers.
Only problem I would see are clerics with refresh or elven archers quick cure removing the burn and granting debuff immunity, if in combo with units that can target your backline it would get nasty since Gladiators lack skills to protect allies.
Jup, every tactic has a counter tactic.^^ Same with my Tricorn Torture Tactics squad.
@@aureliodeprimus8018 Currently one of my strongest squads is a full cavalry stack with Joseph at the front and Laurent, Monique and Clive in the backrow.
Adjust their equipment depending of opponents and they just run over most enemies with only flying units and units that have damage nullifying skills giving them trouble.
EDIT: I have a similar team with Bruno, Auch (Warlock), Selvie (Druid) and Scarlett (High Priestess). Auch has the Chlorotic Staff, Selvie has the flame curse staff, the Acrobat's Shoes and the sorcerous connection accessory, and Scarlett has the Flamebrand Tome. It is VERY synergistic and very strong against many types of characters, particularly armored ones. Selvie starts by getting an extra AP, and burning everyone (eventually debuffing them as well); Scarlett usually does a magic attack, getting buffed by Selvie and retributing the PP in the process - also triggering Auch's Magical Pursuit. Then Auch attacks, also getting buffed by Selvie and usually killing or burning a target. Then Bruno has a go buffed by Scarlett's flame tome. Scarlett then heals/cures debuffs OR gives an extra AP to someone (usually Bruno), who gets to attack again. Then finally Auch makes any surviving opponent explode, since everyone's already burning. All the while, if someone attacks us first, they get debuffed by Selvie's passive (costing buffs to our attacks, but it's a good trade-ff). It's incredibly strong and basically only loses to extremely fast squads targeting the back row, in which case I try to use offensive curse instead of flame curse. Scarlett is a lot more fit for this role than any other healer because she only cures debuffs when she uses her AP skill, saving her PP to when it's really needed. Plus the interaction among all the mages is really interesting.
I found a staff that makes poisoned foes explode, in the same vein as Chlorotic. I hope to devise a team that makes use of this (maybe alongisde Liza/Travis/Gloucester)
You should make a video covering team setups for the final battle. I STEAMROLLED through the whole game... only to hit a wall on the very last boss. Some tips for that specific battle would be super great.

To round it up I guess put Doom Knight as 5 for more fire :)
One of my best unit sort of works like that: Great Knight and Doom knight in front, Druid with fire staff, Berengaria and Cleric in the back. So far even in Bastorias they don't care what the opposing squad is consists at all
Doom knight gets cavalierly buff, druid debuffs, afflicted targets and even bonus dancer belt buff for absurd damage
Where do you get the flame-hex staff. I can't seem to figure it out!
In the early game (level 12ish.) , I make combo Auch with Selvie, Selvie put burn curse to all row, and Auch using one staff, that in the end of battle can detonate all unit if burned . Pretty useful .

I'm thinking about making a burn comp after messing around with doom knights for a bit. Their dark flame is quite powerful against pretty much everything due to hybrid damage, especially if said target is debuffed already (and it likely will be). I'm thinking druid, doom knight, wyvern master, berserker or viking and someone for flame conferral. I'll have to mess around a bit; not sure if the doom knight can handle being on the frontline with the wyvern.
I rock a squad very close to that, I didn’t bother with flame conferral though. Squad had doom knight, wyvern master set up to nuke back row with its flame breath, Druid to lower defenses, wizard for row stun and finally bishop for debuff cleanse and heals. The doom knight pops off with massive damage from 150-200 with dark flame. Thinking about it, the thunderous conferral might be an amazing option to shut rows down while burning them
I tried this squad for fun super-late game ( finished albion) and it's losing to most squadsI have in mock battles. Several of which are squads mainly designed for assisting like 5 ranged, 5 magic etc .they often don't even get a single application of burn in . I use all 5 unit squads now . The 5th unit added to this squad was the unique werelion which functions like a 2nd guardian. I actually stopped using guardians after drakenhold as they just didn't seem to work anymore .enemy guardian squads are one of the easiest to slaughter as well
I just finished up the northern area and the new unit that allows PP restoration is hilarious. I just set it to front row and my front line of 2 berserkers never run out of PP to bulk up and heal 😂
Plus i have them leveled up for grand smash, 2 AP to attack all enemies and 4 PP on my sorc so i get double the flame conferral and it definitely blows things up 😂. If they dont just burst something down they still have 1 AP for wide smash as well.
For the offensive curse, I'm curious about the 3 or more AP condition you setup. I make this mistake at times, but you picked the 3AP option from your own AP category instead of the enemy AP condition?
That's a really nice setup. I've been debating on using the burn staff with my Shaman. Right now I alternate in the blinding staff to make everyone blind at the start of the battle. When I don't use it, then I focus on PP reduction or offensive cursing.
Yeah, I corrected that one on stream recently haha. Very easy mistake to make.
I have a similar setup, i have a griffin master as an evasion tank. I haven’t put in an extra big damage unit with the flame sword as the 2 wizards and druid have done really everything i need. But it does seem like a good idea to swap a wizard or any caster for a sword user. What i noticed is that burn has different levels. So when i hit a burned unit its gone to level 2. Normally flame burst hasn’t even had to proc it seems like.
What im most excited about is i found the tomb for stuns as well as the fire and ice ones. I want the poison one! I bought the poison burst staff already and want to make that with travis or a rouge tank throwing poison strikes out and just watching the baddies bleed out as they cant hit my evasion tank 😂

Random question if anyone knows. Im working on my poison burst team and i have 2 pestilence staffs so i have 2 posion burst skills available. The question is, do multiple end of battle skills proc if they are on different characters or is it limited like start of battle skills?
I keep trying to mock battle but either kill the team or lose a team member and cant really figure it out.
AFAIK it's limited like start of battle, but I haven't directly tested for it either.
@@TitaniumLegman i figured it out and end game skills do seem to proc multiple times so long as they are on different characters. Tho, the build didn’t really pan out as it was very much a slow burn that didn’t work as often as i would have wanted. Since poison is scaled off HP it also was just ineffective vs most units i was going against. Maybe very specific units it could work on but there are to many units with skills to cleanse.
There is a 20% upgraded leaf brouch you should have to give Bruno if you like
I think you've misunderstood the Tactics system again, at 11:37 the Magick Missile will never trigger because the Icebolt will always be selected. "Prioritze" isn't a filter, just a sort

Drakenhold treasure maps I believe. That or one of the last shops you unlock.

Flame Conferral shouldn't be hitting the back row period, initiative or not. When you have it set to front, it should never cast in the back. Also, since Bruno can't hit the back row, the Shaman should be set up with a condition to prioritize the back row until there are no enemies left in the back for those random occurrences where he somehow misses all of the front row with his initial attack, and then it's time for her to use the row burn. Unless the "not burning" command will check the entire row and not cast it there if *any* of the units are burning and then ignore that full row, not just the burning target.
The witch will also never cast magic missile in this setup, correct? Even if prioritize armor is on, icebolt will always find a target.
Also, Focus Sight only triggers if the evasive units are present, but it’s not necessarily applied to an attack that targets one of those units.
Just checking but there’s no reason you couldn’t swap out the sorceress for a warlock if you wanted to right?
You can, but I like the ability to grant a guaranteed hit that Sorceress gives
I Have an absoultely broken Comp that is a little like the firebug unit you made, and is actually a Instant KO hybrid
So, We Have a Hoplite Front and Center He currently has the Crimson Sarissa, Horsekiller Greatshield and a Lapis Pendent, his stats dont matter. Directly Behind him is Basic Hilda, as a Wyvern Master its uncessary for her to be a Wyvern master and you can do this build eariler, She is equipped with a Dragoons Warspear, Wyvern Reins, Crude Tasset, and Lapis Pendent. on the Left we have a Druid her stas dont matter, she has a Flame Hex Staff (for that good burning sensation), Carnelian Pendent, Dancers Bracelet, and Familiars Choker. Then we have a Warlock with Chlorotic, Flamebrand Tome, Lapis Pendant, and Silk Hood. the Squad Super Buffs Hilda then protects her why she is charging. when she is finished charging Wyvern Reins activates giving her truestrike and dealing so much damage it instant kills pretty much everything. Try it out. then fire burst cleans up anything that survived if its even possible.

So something I noticed because of my playthrough I don't remember where you get them it might be the colosium but you can get a version of the pendants that give 2 ap or pp instead of 1 might be better for this build

Very cool setup! That burn rod is deadly. I've got a similar unit (earlier in the game though) with a Gryphon Master + Druid, Bishop, Witch. Ice Conferral (Keen Conferral if scouts present), Bishop with the rod to give my Gryphon Master another AP and a heal / keep debuffs off. Still playing with the items on Gryphon Master, but the one to boost Phys Attack + Crit Damage after dodging has been working well, with tactics to avoid rows with frozen to keep retaliations to a minimum. Keep those truestrikes far far away from her though!
Also, I believe with those tactics on the Sorceress the Magic Missile will never trigger? Because of prioritize, Ice Bolt will look for Armoured, then when it doesn't find any will do Ice Bolt with the default targeting. The AP gets used before getting to Magic Missile.

To your point about Magic Missile, you can see Renee cast it at 45 seconds in the video. Same tactics setup there IIRC.

What unit and build would u recommend to add as a 5th unit?
The squad has offense covered, so probably a cleric or radiant knight for some defense and healing.

Using Berengaria(instead of a gladiator) + A wizard(instead of witch for conferral) + wyvernrider + Shaman is a better setup for pure burn. Add in a thief to row blind at the beginning and your team basically melts everything
If Bruno is still a gladiator should you prioritze carnelian pendant or lapis pendant?
Lapis I'd say, more ranking potential.
I just got into the game. Tactics question about Renee's gambits:
You have Icebolt with Prioritize Armored (which I assume means hit Armored first, non-armored second, so it should always have a target).
You have Magic Missiles with Prioritize Armored, then 2+ enemies.
Icebolt should take precedence over Magic Missiles by being first. So, shouldn't Icebolt always go off, and Magic Missiles never go off? Because, there is never a situation where Icebolt's condition would never be met, so there should be no condition where it is skipped for Magic Missiles.
I haven't delved enough into the Gambits, so let me know if I made a mistake somewhere here in my logic, this just looks weird to me. Thanks.
That's correct. The "Prioritize Armored" will target armored if they exist, otherwise will use default target. The other gambit "Armored" will only trigger if there is an armored target. This sorceress will never use Magic Missile.
You're correct, I don't really ever want her to freeze since Bruno is likely to just unfreeze anything she would target. So I just got lazy and left the Tactic on and let her magic missile everything lol.

Would a wyvern rider work better than a gladiator? Not only can they hit the back row and have high evasion but they can use a spear that hits an entire row and stuns them. Flame conferral on that, an entire row is now stunned and on fire.
I did an all-out ice AoE build...nothing lives past the 2nd round
I think 3 Flame Curses may be excessive. Might be safer to set her to debuff damage as her First Action to reduce chances of Bruno getting overwhelmed. Then you still have 2 Fire Curses to spread around burn effects.
Burn procs when the target takes their turn so you lose a lot of damage doing that.
My favorite combo is making travis sis extra hot. Boosting her chain attack with fire.
Stun + burn is one of the best synergies of the game.
Have you tried using poison burst in some team?
I haven't yet, tho I do have the item for it.
Wait hang on I need to upgrade to 4 man units before I start watching these vids. I wonder if I should have spent the points on increasing unit numbers rather than new squads? I’m in the desert area and I notice all the enemies have 4 man squads now lol
Yeah. For most battles in the early game, you probably will only deploy like 4-5 squads. Build those up to 4 members first before expanding.
That 4th member will be the difference in wiping an enemy unit out in 1 turn vs wasting another stamina point just finish off 1 straggler.

You have the druid set to offensive curse with 3 or more AP, but in the video you show right after she uses offensive curse with 1 AP remaining. What's going on with that?
Ah, I believe I had accidentally set it to enemy AP 3 or more remaining in that clip, whereas I should have it set to own AP 3 or more remaining.

Acrobat shoe is very useless item, carnelian pendant does what it does without all the negatives.
1) You wastes 2 item slot
2) You waste a limited 'start of battle' effect activation.
Ha, wait until you get the sword that has a skill that does extra damage to burned units.

This team looks like it lacks damage and back row looks vulnerable. Maybe adding a doom knight with fire blast would help
It most certainly doesn't lack damage, and the Druid keeps the Backline relatively safe with curses.
Doesn't your second condition on CHANTAL's Offensive Curse mean that she WONT attack unless the "row with most combatants" has a target with "3 or more AP"? Because it's not "prioritize most AP". And also condition 2 is looking for 1 person with 3 AP, not the row combined AP...
"Row with most combatants" sorts potential targets and then "3 or more AP" filters target out of that list. I think your second point is right though.
So if you faced a unit with 3 in back and 1 out front:
Condition 1 puts the 3 back targets in higher priority than the front line target, but doesn't eliminate that target.
Condition 2 removes all targets with

I tried this build but not having any success with it 😢. The 3 sell swords works so well that I gone to rank 5 in the colosseum at level 27. However, Bruno seems to die on me to fast. My 3 soldier front line and the two elf sisters in the back do better.
Bruno is dying even with a shaman providing debuffs for the enemy?
@@TitaniumLegman yeah after playing with it a bit. The problem seems to be that the damage is not going out fast enough. The other team tends to deal more damage killing my damage dealing units. Not sure how to fix it. After fighting they don't heal up enough. So after 2 to 3 fights their out.
Rosalinde by herself wipes out whole squads.
