- Berengaria is an overpowered great shield axe unit that can do a lot of damage and stun rows. She also has high evasion and great stats/abilities/valor skills and arguably is one of the best units in the game.

Oh I was so upset when she got taken away. Restarted and went to elf land for a couple battles then found out she eventually comes back so rushed drakenhold. On3 of my 3 fave unique characters in the game (others being Virginia and Rosalinde)

You NEED to pair Berengaria with a werefox. The werefox's 1AP abilities both cause Afflictions, guard seal and passive seal whichever you need, AND their followup 1PP ability inflicts Blind as well. So every time the werefox takes a turn, Berengaria can followup with Sanguine Pursuit and get the PP back, and then if you have another attacker in the team, the Werefox will followup their attacks first (higher Init), and then Berengaria can folloup again for more PP because Blind. It's just an instant meatgrinder.
I don't recommend using the 2AP column poison attack with this build. It can work, and helps vs high armor targets which Berengaria struggles a bit with, but you're sacrificing a Sanguine Pursuit use every time because of the higher cost.

Or you can have a druid guard seal the front line and call it a day. Just for kicks i then have Travis steal their PP to buff Ren's damage.
You should absolutely be using poison or burn with bernengaria. Her whole thing is stunning opponents who are poisoned and burned so they just passively die from the extra triggers of damage over time.
Yeah, this is a weird comp for Berengaria, with barely any affliction applicators at all. With even just the Shaman Guard Seal she does ridiculous damage.
You can do multiple things with the same unit. This game is great I love it
She pairs especially well with wizards. The wizard can stun the backline and provide some form of affliction conferral to her aoe stun and she can stun and for example burn if flame conferred the front line and then you just wait for the enemies to either die to your attackers or whatever afflictions you are running in the comp.
Druid with the blind staff has been an all star with her
Haven't watched the video or any of the videos yet, but my GOD are you getting me close to taking a break from FF7 Rebirth in favor of Unicorn Overlord. I loved all the videos you did on Engage and I just know I'll keep coming back for your opinions and guides on this game as well. Keep it up man, love your content!
I stopped Rebirth around halfway through last week, thinking I'd be able to finish this game before Dragon's Dogma 2. LMAO...I still have most of Bastorias to do.

berengaria and a wyvern rider is a nice little combo. For a four man, i’ve been running her frontline with a mage running the blindness counter, a cleric, and a wyvern spamming the row fire attack. Can’t wait to make it a five man and run a triple front roe
I was able to cheese through coliseum at low level using berengaria team comp aside from the Rank 1 battle. Her aoe stun to front line will help the rest of your team get through. Equip with anti stun, blind, burn or depending on the enemy will help. Eye of the princess is also OP and will slow down opponents

My favorite unit in the game. Helleborus Axe caught my attention as it could make a berserker class function late game. But the question is where can I get that weapon?
Yeah. I use her in my DPS Team with Gloucester and Magellan.
I gave her Mirage shield and 2 other evade items and she's literally the best evade bruiser in my army. Gave her the Maiden's ring too 😉
She has really high evasion so the mirage greatshield works amazing for her. Units that can hit her like swordmasters and snipers dont do enough damage to her. Running her on an affliction team, currently im using a fire team, makes her ridiculous
The problem with Evasion on Berengaria is that Painbringer does not trigger on evade. I still run it anyway, she's basically the only tower shield character with decent enough base evasion that the Mirage Greatshield does anything. Makes her nearly unkillable BUT she becomes unable to kill enemies with very high defense.
Personally I run Berengaria with a Werefox, Breaker, Druid, and Bishop. Werefox triggers Sanguine Pursuit spam with free PP return, druid softens things up, the breaker cleans up any high armor targets I'm struggling with and the Bishop ensures that if anybody dies I can still get back to full strength for the next fight (parting resurrection + heal field action). Werefoxes are also the absolute best mobile leaders, especially if you use an item to set the time to night. They get 340 speed at night, full speed on all terrain, 6 stamina, and their jump ability lets you get away without having a flying character on the team (gets over walls and such).
@@Sotanaht01defense or lack of defense doesn’t matter when the vast majority of a bern comp’s damage comes from burn or poison and stuns racking up triggers of those. A good bernengaria comp won’t even let the enemies get a single attack 90% of the time. Pain bringer is largely irrelevant despite how good it is.

As an aside: if you arent running Ren with a druid, you're doing it wrong.
@@Sotanaht01 The first time I took a Watchtower before jumping over the city walls past barricades and magick mines to take a city’s Command Post made me lament how late we get the Werefoxes.
Also Dinah is highkey bait, that design is too spicy.
I ran her with 2 wyverns and 2 bishops. Could burn fire things and abuse the stun and would spam her stamina stealing ability to just push through entire maps basically solo to take the garrison/tower

Does berengaria need a tutorial? She's possibly the strongest character in the game if you get her on a team that cause afflictions conaistently

She stomps. You dont have to do much and she will destroy. I out her as a Tank and just put aoe and archers behind her

A high bar but I think you might be right.
I think you heavily overestimate her. She's completely dependent on the enemy being afflicted, and, if on the other side there's a good healer, she gets completely nullified. I test a lot all my party comps through mock battles and, unfortunately, every time on the other side there's a good healer (or affliction immunity), Berengaria is among the worst units.
I think we are playing different games. PVE enemy squads are easily killed by units like Berengaria, if you are testing her vs your other teams you are simulating PVP, which is not what this guide is for.
