I wish there were more AMC kits out there.. I'm currently working on a 53 Studebaker Starliner Commander that I found at Walmart.. was pretty 😎 to find such an unusual kit to build!!
The centerbolt valve covers are replicating the AMCs' first motor, the Nash 327cid V8, which shares charactoristics with the AMC V8's. Timing cover assy and block are close.
As usual, the build looks great! Actually forgot they were available in the blue and green colors. Sure wish I had bought one of these kits back in the day. Maybe have to trade one of my unopened SC Ramblers for one! Actually saw a real "The Machine" a couple months ago at a car show and so many people had no clue what it was.
Thank you! I was at The Goodguys show today. Usually there is an SC Rambler there. A few of them are here locally and shown regularly. But today a Rebel Machine drove right by me. I was holding my boy and could not get a picture of it!
Thank you. I do in the comments when asked and if you mean the video description. I have from time to time but many don’t read that. Plus the only one on this video is The Decals from Keith Marks and it is just his Fotki album and email. Marc Nellis is on Facebook (tail lights) and Kevin, Missing Link resin, is on eBay and Facebook. I’m not trying to sell stuff just share what I build and tips. I’ll give credit to the suppliers but problem is some of this is stuff that was only available for a short time.
Man I wished I could find one of those kits for decent money, not completely outrageous, I know some kits are rare or kinda rare but some of these people need to get off their high horse, but that’s not going to happen, anytime soon. Anyhow, yeah can hardly wait to see what you do to this one, I know it will be spectacular!
Thank you! Yes I thought I got a good deal getting this one. That was about a year ago. But with the missing parts in resin costing more. That sucked but I forget all about that when I build it. It just adds to the story!
@@TheMuscleCarModeler - you’re welcome buddy! Haha, yeah I hear ya, I’d say getting any Johan for a good deal is a good deal or day to me, especially “the Machine” kit! Like I said I would love to find one of those and for a pretty good deal too! Anyhow, I’ll be watching to see what you do to this one! Keep on keeping on Raoul!
@@TheMuscleCarModeler Thank you...the best things are worth waiting for! i have an idea what you are talking about but i can not find any youtube videos on it... so yours will be the first Raul.
Another great build of a rare kit!,would love to see someone offer correct engines for these old johan kits,3d printing is so big i'm surprised it hasn't been done.
I have one of these, a very lucky purchase a few years back. Nice that you pointed out the errors in the kit, I would never have known Looking forward to your build. I think I got my decals from firebird designs?
I believe he has them as well. I have used Firebird Designs a few times but his sight is gone. I hears he is still doing them thou but don't know for sure.
Those are cool cars, I can't even remember the last time I've seen one (real one). I almost bought a 69 AMX (real one) back in the early 80's but even then The Machine was impossible to find. Do they make Keystone Klassics for models?
@@TheMuscleCarModeler That's cool, man. Are you a long time resident of the valley? I got here in the 80's but I remember hearing about Randall AMC over in the east valley that was into hot rod AMC's in the late 60's and early 70's. I think they did 401 Gremlin's and things like that. Kind of like Yenko and the 427 Chevy's.
The box had a Big Bad Green one on the side! I believe the other colors were available as well but could not find a list of colors. Just some restored cars in the odd colors.
Hi Raoul, I like your work…..Did you know that AMC made two different red, white and blue paint schemes on the “Machine”….??? The color scheme on your model was about 90% popular to the public and the opposing scheme was seldom seen. I was a “gear head” teen right out of high school when I “lessened” a guy in a “Machine” with a 455HO Trans Am. He was picking a fight, so I needed to oblige. I have this kit, Scrambler and the Cutlass 442 kit along the Modelhaus’ 442 resin kit and a set of Keith Marks Rallye 350 decal set…..so I’m sure you know where I’m going with that…… could you tell me what color/source yellow you used on the Rallye 350…????? Thanks Raoul……appreciate the You Tube videos….
On the Rebel Machine, I only know of one red, white and blue paint scheme. Only one I know of with two is the SC/Rambler. I do know the Rebel Machine was later available in any solid color with the hood being black instead of blue, but those cars did not get the stripes. I have another kit and plan to do one that way.
Great kit. I remember those cars. A buddy of mine had one. I have a question. How do you get rid of the light sink lines? I picked up a 69 Cougar ( my wife’s first car ), and it has a few light sink lines on the body. Gonna be yellow with light olive green interior. Thanks again for sharing!
Thanks. I like to use Tamiya Polyester putty to fill the depressions. I will also use super glue and let it flow into the sink area. If using super glue just make sure the area is as level as can be and let it dry for a day or so. I have picked up a body and forgot about the glue and got my finger in it.
Hello Raul, love your channel,Iam a new subscriber,Question, I AM TRYING TO ORDER 1970 ROADRUNNER DECALS from Keith Marks, but can't seem to find them online.could you point me in the right direction? I ordered the gtx convertion from k7 resin, thanks to you.You give such great info, thanks. YOU HAVE SUCH A GREAT VOICE FOR YOUR CHANNEL.I Affectionately refer to you as the Bob Ross of modeling. best of luck to you. I am from Cape Cod Massachusetts, just saying oh well good luck and keep up the great work. thanks
It’s all about condition and what the buyer is willing to pay. eBay is your best choice if you want to sell. Or try some Facebook groups. Pictures will set price.
Your motor is the wrong color. It's supposed to be light metallic teal. A close color is the 80's Ford lght teal for Probes and Mustangs. Beautiful though!😊
Green!!! Most definitely Green!!! I love your built up and nice unboxing Raoul!
Thanks so much!
As a kid I've seen a lot of these kits thanks again for my childhood.
You're welcome!
I like green. Awesome looking build. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
Thanks for the informative video. Rebel machine is such a beautiful car. Thank you for sharing and have a wonderful weekend.
Thank you! You too!
Nice build, Ralph!...I remember seeing these running around in the lat '60s early '70s. Jo Han put out a nice line of model kits.
Thank you!
I've always liked this car.. Never had the kit. Nice history and insight on the kit. Awesome build!!!!
Thanks 👍
Great review Raoul. Ron
Thank you!
Cool kit!!
It's not perfect but it is a cool kit!

Very cool!
Nice that you have 2 of these nice and rare kits Raoul. Always love the red white and blue paint scheme.
Thanks! I really like the Red, White and Blue AMC's. I plan to build the AMX SS race cars and still need to do the SC Ramblers as well.
Very cool car, AMC had some really nice muscle cars, I still see one of these occasionally at the bigger shows.
Cool. I saw one today at Goodguys!

Wht they're in a 70 Rebel kit? I think it's because the 67 Ambassador kit. A 65 Marlin kit has a perfect replica of a Nash or "AMC bought" 327.
Yes, they are left over from the 65 Marlin kit. Not to mention they are in a lot of the early AMX and Javelin kits.
I love the green on them.
So do I!
@@TheMuscleCarModeler I can't afford one of those. Maybe they will release it again.
That would be nice!
At least you found another kit with a decent box ..
Yeah LOL!

Glad you enjoyed it!
😎 that the seats are already attached.. one less step!
That is common with JoHan.
Always wanted one of those kits. Dont think it would ever getreissued. I can see Moebius making one. To me they seem to be the modern day Johan.
That would be cool if a new tooled kit became available.
I want one!
I can't blame you!

Big Bad Blue or Big bad Green

Get better tires!
Don't know of any that fit these wheels. I have a lot of Modelhaus tires plus a large box of extras from all kinds of kits.
