MCM at its best! An analysis of a Muscle Car Tools history and a tracking the changes to that tool over the subsequent releases. All with so many interesting facts, like the headers, and Revell's Skill rating system mixed in for good measure. Good to know I can build a Bullit Mustang without having to pay a collector's premium AND have more building options. That blue '68 is gorgeous! You are an inspiration and bad influence as always.
I built a 68 Super Stock Mustang with this kit using the decals from Revell's 69 Mach I, as I thought they looked better than the kit supplied. I bought another kit to build a Bullitt, as I noticed that all the parts were there! Not built yet. Thanks for another great video.
Great 68 Mustang review. Got a couple of those kits in my stash along with a stock 68 coupe resin from Gerry. Now I got to find a proper 6cyl engine to replicate my father's car.
I built the disassembled Bullitt diecast along with the Charger when they were released. Detailed them with paint and such. When Revell released them as plastic kits from the same molds, I never saw a need to get one.
Originally I was not that excited about these kits as I bought the Revell 70 Challenger RT 2in1 that was also die cast based. I did buy the 68 GT 2in1 but not the Bullitt. These look much better finished!
Thanks. I was doing two on Saturdays but You Tube will focus on the newest one. So, I started doing one on Saturday then another on Sunday. It was better but spreading them out farther works out best. I still have some finished old builds I have not shown but am running out of them, so I started trying this. It seems to be working just fine.
As always thanks for posting another one of your videos, Raoul. I always thought that the '67 and '68 Mustang GTs were sharp looking cars. The Mustang used in Bullitt really took a beating due to the hard driving and punishment it took in San Francisco, and it would be interesting to build a Bullitt Mustang GT in the beat-up condition as it appeared in the movie!
Great history on this kit. I'm wanting to build the Bullitt Mustang and the bad guy Charger. I have the Charger kit, don't have the correct hubcaps yet. I need to get this 68 mustang kit before it gets discontinued. Funny thing is The Revell 77 Pontiac Firebird Smokey and the Bandit kit is based off of a diecast as well i do believe. Great kit, i have built two of them 👍😎
Thanks. I don’t think the 68 kit is in production currently but isn’t to hard to find right now online but may be harder to find in local hobby stores.
I have three of the Revell Muscle kits. One is the 2011 issue shown. The other two seem to be a cross between the 2011 and 2020 issue box art wise. They are all unopened and still sealed. I plan on doing the Bullit car with one. The others I must've got on clearance. I do have the Bullit kit also, still sealed
Back in the school days a friend bought his neighbor's blue 68 fastback. Poor old car lasted 3 hours. He brood sided his neighbor's new car hitting it so hard it ended up in her neighbors garage. Took out the neighbors car sitting in her garage. Mark didn't get to drive for awhile after that incident.
Awesome video! And an excellent bit of info on the history of this kit. Just to confirm, does the 2020 version come with the parts required to build the Bullit movie car… wheels, and proper grill?
I'm missing kits in my collection of Mustangs ..... 68 and 70. Sure didn't know that Revell issued and reissued the 68 multiple times with basically the same box art. Glad I didn't buy anything at a model show/vendor area yet. I would not have known to check the issue date. Thanks.
I’ve got a couple of those kits ... first one I did as the CobraJet white car ... but my complaint is ... this kit is reportedly 1/25 but I’d guess it’s 1/24 scale ... try putting it next to an AMT 1968 Mustang kit , that’s reportedly 1/25 ( but we know the amt kits were way smaller ) the Revell Mustang looks huge in comparison .
I have the 08 with an updated interior, but the brush painted taillights. Weird stuff Revell. All the Bullit stuff and the 428 extras. I had to pull ot out to compare once I saw this vid.
So I have the original bullitt edition of the kit would that be the correct one to do the movie car or should I try and hunt down one of the other ones to start with
I prefer one of the last two kits issued in 2020 or 2015. They will have the headers and most of the correct 68 interior. They still have the Bullitt version wheels, single chrome tail pipes, 67 Shelby steering wheel, grill and air cleaner. Plus the better molded red taillight lens.
Would you say this is a good kit for me to build as my first Mustang kit, or would a different one be better? I would like to do specifically a '64-'70 car as my first. I saw this kit (2020 release) at my local hobby store and almost got it but changed my mind.

Thanks so much. I’m a bad influence to myself as well. I think of other build options and next thing I know is I have 4-5 kits!
A Bullitt Mustang build would be a great series. Thanks for sharing the Intel on these kits.
I’m going to build it soon. I’ll do a few videos on it.

Thanks! That is why I consider the kit really a 4 in 1!

Thanks. That sounds like a great project.
Raoul -- I really enjoy these Comparison videos & Appreciate Thee Effort You put into them for Us. Thank You & Merry Christmas to You & Yours.
Thank you so much! Merry Christmas to you and yours as well!

Very nice look at the kits. I really like you are releasing videos during the week, and just on Saturday’s. Thanks for sharing.

Some good info in here! Thanks for sharing
You are very welcome!
thanks for the very interesting video!
You’re welcome!
Great info on this kit i totally had forgotten about the incorrect interior, which was taken from the diecast 67 Shelby GT 500 that Revell did.
Thanks. I had also forgotten that the problem was also in the Bullitt issue as well.

It did and they were even lightly sanded to dull down the shine to make them look more used.
Great 68 Mustang review.. thanks for sharing.
Glad you liked it!
Very informative video Raoul. Thanks for sharing this!
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it!
Grateful for the information. Thank you.
Glad it was helpful!

Alleays love these comparison videos..Makes me wonder how the 67 parts got in there...I like the 67 interiors better actually
Thanks. They came from the first die cast 67 Shelby. But that one was never offered in plastic.
@TheMuscleCarModeler oh ok
Great vid Rahl the 68 California body is sweet 😁🤩scooter d😎
Thanks. I really need to build one of them.
@TheMuscleCarModeler can't wait been lounging 4 that car as well as the phase 3 Vette 🤣😜🧡🤟
Longing surry🙏🤞
Great video. Thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching!

Cool. Enjoy them. I’m finally going to do the Bullitt as well!
My favorite is the cobra jet drag version kit
Awesome!

That is one heck of a story! I would be so grounded!

Yes it does!

Thanks. Revell has done this a few times.

I may have to put it next to some of my other Mustangs. Would be interesting next to the 1/24 70 Boss 429 and the 1/25 69 Mach 1.

Cool that you have the updated interior in your kit.

It's a great kit for a beginner! It has a few screws, but most are hidden. Almost any of the Revell / Monogram Mustang kits are great!
The one I have has the race car on front
Interesting.
Unfortunate some manufacture hasn't made a 1968 Mustang Coupe.
A resin one does exist but no actual kits.

Hello.
Another great tutorial .
Thank you!
