People probably randomly found certain instances of these glitches, then tried those same glitches in similar places elsewhere, and then refined a setup for those locations in order to make getting them to happen more consistent. These boundaries are so poorly done, it's not hard to imagine someone just diagonally walking into a wall and accidentally discovering that it's possible to just pop through.

It's not actually softlocked. All you need to do is align the camera with the center of the room and then jump while moving forwards a few times
they should put the Dash Socks in every M&L game from now on

For once I can say that you are wrong. You're not softlocked and it's very easy to get back in bounds. Move the trio left until the camera lines up in the middle of the room. Then move downwards whilst continuously jumping. You should now be able to see the trio. Finally, simply walk back in bounds without touching the exit and then you can leave the Lakitu Info Center like nothing happened. I figured that out on my OWN! I expect more from you. I'm looking at you Aurum.

Fun fact: After you get stuck in the Lakitu Center after the credits screen, you can ACTUALLY escape. All you need to do is trio plane which would allow you to walk on the side so walk toward the back exit door and use trio plane again to the left, if it doesn't work just fidget around a bit and you'll fall from the roof. If you actually go back to the area were you fought the Bowsers the platform that took you to them is gone and walking to it crashes your game

Nifty tip: Don't press X right as you go into the Kamek cutscene from behind as it will crash and you will have to hold the power button to get it working again.

It's mind-boggling how much you can do to leave the game begging for mercy and break it like Bane broke the Bat.

Great video! I finally managed to pull all this off myself. It’s unbelievable how broken this game is XD
I opened up paper jam one day, like "oh yeah I remember this game being good and rather null of glitches." I got an hour in, and then I fought some goombas. I killed the last goomba with a counter attack from paper Mario, and then... nothing. the battle didn't end, and the 3 bros just sat there. I was softlocked.

i have so far onl6 find some minor glitches like they keep floating in water instead of sinking after a battle and you can clip in a block by spamming high jump to punch it
Well I found a basis for a possible glitch in SSDX. One of the rooms in Gwarhar Lagoon has a certain spot that makes Mario stutter in place. I'll research this some more.

Also when u enter neo bowser castle after the credits roll by the platform that takes u to the Bowsers has moved on and approaching it will crash the game as it tries to play a cutscene that's no longer there also once u teleport to the Lakitu Info Center where you initiated the glitch you can escape but the Mario Bros are off screen so wiggle the circle pad and they will eventually escape. So More info for you Aurum

Somehow I managed to get out of the post-game softlock. It turns out it puts you or I somehow got myself right above the building and by walking away from the camera everyone fell out. So that's cool!

Paper Mario seems more solid then the rest of the bros, because he never gets out of bounds. I guess Paper Mario isn't made of paper after all.

After the credits when you're spawned in the lakitu center, you aren't soft locked. Just move around and eventually you'll return to normal.

I got a run in under an hour, but if this shows how broken this game is, I used a completely different route and somehow even ended up in the castle without trio grab. Also there is a tree blocking the way to north gloomy at one point that you can super easily clip past by just holding torwards the wall.
Another glitch that I found was that if you have a toad mission in a snow area, wait until the timer runs out and then jump on a spring. Make sure that only Luigi and paper mario are on the spring. BOOM! Game crash!

You missed a REALLY early glitch in the game, that can be performed when you get the Dash Socks.
I call it "The Biggest Skip"
Like the name implies, you'll perform a skip so big you won't even see Doop Doop Dunes, Twinsy Tropics, or the Papercraft Goomba. However, everything will be extremely hard when you perform it, as you'll be underleveled. Good luck on that.
Here's what you gotta do.
First, go to the first Heart Block in the game, in Sunbeam Plains. You see the giant rocks beside it? Yeah, you gotta clip through them. It's easy though, don't worry. Just run into it, by holding Up+Left lightly. When you get to the rock's upper left corner, tap Down+Right slightly and you'll see that Mario is somewhat-inside the rock. Now, repeat the same actions until you get Mario into the rock. Now do the same method until you get all the Bros. in the rock (that includes Paper Mario). Now press X and guide yourself to the West Gloomy Woods entrance with the Touch Screen, and don't leave the outside of the walls. Once you're there, just walk into the "blast zone" (i play too much Smash Bros., so i call them like that), and voala! You're in West Gloomy Woods! You have skipped 40% of the game now!
This skip is more for casuals that want to improve their dodging skills, as you can't really beat the enemies there (You're underleveled if you do this after getting the dash socks), but sure, you can use this in runs too. Just don't say I didn't warn ya.
