Legitimately got confused for a second about RDM not being on the list, but then remembered even if it STARTS at 50, it's from Stormblood. ;-; I liked the video before I even continued watching past like 3 seconds, and I think it'll help newer players. I'll definitely shove this towards people I'm brainwashing into playing I mean giving them a choice to play.
I literally decoded to start paying just to get RDM when I saw the quest was locked. No regrets. It was really cool to finish ARR with it, and it's still my main.
@@redlunatic2224 RDM is the best job to play, in my opinion. It's got great mobility because of dualcast and also its skills. Unfortunately it's locked behind Stormblood. Dragoon was the class I had before it, and going back to it now feels slow.
@Hannah Moonstone I mained WHM before and switching to RDM felt like getting triple the buttons lol. Still, it is so stylish that I couldn't resist learning it.
Just a note on DRG. Spineshatter dive and Dragonfire dive are not your gap closers, they're part of your rotation and should be used on cd. Elusive jump is the actual gap closer of DRG.
That said, they still are technically "gap closers", so if there is, say, a giant pit between you and your target, don't Dive towards it. They made Jump/High Jump safe, but your other abilities still move you around.
I think Cover has some niche uses in raid content. If there's a body check and half the party is dead, I can sac myself and Cover my healer to make sure they live to use an LB3. Also, as an off-tank, if a tankbuster would require a swap due to receiving a debuff, in most cases you can Cover the main tank, receive the damage and debuff from the MT, then intentionally run away and break the tether (or have the MT click off the Cover buff) to have the MT receive the second buster. Yes, very _very_ niche, I know. But at least makes Cover have more usability than Shield Bash.
while true that stormblood gives blue mages a lot of very powerful spells, the ARR/HW spell list is still very respectable. I've personally helped free trial blue mages get their morbol mount and while they do fall behind in damage due to missing spells, they still contribute more than a normal job would be able to since they have access to all the utility spells available in the ARR/HW spell list like magic hammer, white wind, lv 5 death, etc while also still having access to the two objectively best spells in the spellbook: Aetherial Mimicry and Angel Whisper
@@gamerfardin1949 I'm committed to 3 statics at the moment so no. If you would like assistance though, try BLU Academy. You can recruit your own static of people to help you on a schedule that works for you.
I am so glad I can see damage types now, there are so many times where I had to just do a 50/50 guess about if dark mind will work. I've noticed that there are actually a lot of bosses that primarily do magic damage, even with their autos.
I'm torn about Blue Mage. Like you said it's kind of a shame that we can't do the Blue Mage stuff as it was done on release. On the other hand I tried tanking Nael with the Heavensward kit and it didn't go very well... So with the additional tank spells given in Stormblood makes the content I think more reasonable. Shame that trial players won't be able to do the content but overall it may be better for those who want to get the Morbol mount.
What I'd like so see eventually is a tier list for all jobs at every raid tier. Like Maybe Paladin is like S tier for 50 but B tier for 60 etc. As someone who likes to do older content I'd be interested in your thoughts.
I'm gonna have to disagree with you on BLU. It might not be full power but it's powerful enough and a great way to introduce yourself to the various systems of the game. The process of unlocking access to spells (even if I don't have the party to learn them) and learning how to use them is an invaluable experience. Please take this into consideration when you have to remake this video for the lv70 cap increase in October.
I recently went into the game completely blind on a free trial account and made the mistake of rolling healer, thinking I could be a an astrologian. Now I'm stuck playing a white mage at level 52 doing all of the 3 million fucking quests before HW, since I'm kind of too close to unlocking astro to respec now. Trying to heal as a class with no instant cast heals, and cast times long enough to go make myself a sandwich, while simultaneously learning the boss mechanics as I play, has been so frustrating. The game forces you to do raids to progress the story, and as soon as I think I'm one more raid away from astro, I get slapped with another. If you're new and wanna play astro, roll a scholar first, or just play damage.
There is a Featured Quest (blue quest) in Limsa Lominsa Lower Deck near the Fisher's Guild. But yeah it really should be added in to the character creator.
Can we get an updated Version please? Lvld my dragoon to lvl 40 now and i just saw there are a lot of skills i cant use so i dont know if i should switch. I new to the game so i have no idea :D
Why does every game I pick up I always choose the most controversial class/character (white mage in this case). I have a thing for controversial classes/characters lmao
The stigma (from my experience at least) is just because WHM being 'boring and straightforward' and the obvious "pure" healer means it especially attracts that specific brand of soft uwu support-only lvl90-sprout player that coddles themselves out of actually trying to get good & expects everyone else to as well... the kinds of people who think they're entitled to being bad and *will* let you know it, basically.
Whm main here, and I agree with you on putting whm in B for content below 60. Whm feels weird until it gets it’s blood lily gauge, and I hate how long it’s aoe cast time is, absolutely zero chance to weave in an ogcd. Also benediction takes too long to take effect sometimes so my tank dies to that.
@@ojosama I should say that I had no problems when leveling it, but once you get blood lily gauge there is no going back because it just feels wrong without.
Time to leave an angry whm comment (jk). Even if I really like whm at end game, I haaaate being whm in lower than level 70 content. It doesn't feel good without lilies and especially if you're going through the coils synced? I would much rather be scholar or astro. I need ogcd healing too much lol.
I know this was made a year ago, but if I could make a criticism, it would be that you don't name drop the original forms of the classes. As a new player I have no idea what a paladin or white mage is when my starting options are only Thaumaturge, Arcanist, etc that aren't stated
Hey im comenting to let you know on a discovery so you can do a vid on it. You can see a blue elephant in empyreum, that elephant is actually Aymeric!!!
I immediately clicked off the video when u r talking about paladin u r so wrong!! As a paladin main, it is my fav tank and all the skills u said are useless are not, cover saved so many runs, and clemency is useless??!! Yeah bud lol 😂😂😂 I soloed so many bosses with clemency, healing is the healers job hahaha yeah 😅😂😂 this video is diffently coming from salty healer man no healing is not the healers job healing is everyone job, healers job is only to keep everyone healthy and that's it
I mean I don't really have a main, but if I did I would consider it tanking. So feel free to disagree, but it really seems like you don't know what you are talking about. I don't doubt you had like one run where cover saved a run, compared to like the hundred it would have saved if it's distance was longer. You Solo'ed bosses with Clemancy? Yeah I'll take things that never happened for 500 Alex.

well this video did not help me decide between summoner and machinist at all
Does this mean trial blue mages are better now? since stormblood is coming for free trials 😯
yes, good enough that they'll be accepted into Blue Mage parties is yet to be seen though. But I think they will.
Can I do shiva extreme with duty finder as free trial don't allow to use party finder.
