- Trial players rejoice! With patch 6.5 to be released in early October a WHOLE expansion is being added to the Final Fantasy XIV Free Trial. But what does that really mean? What can you do in this expansion? Well fret not because I have broken down all the content you can do in Stormblood. So whether you are a trial player, a new player, or even a vet who just stormed through (see what I did there) Stromblood I'll help you understand what it is you can do in the red headed step child of FFXIV expansions.

Update: It is with heavy heart that I have to inform you that Ultimate Raids will not be available to the free trial.
Correction: There are actually three treasure dungeons not two. One can only be accessed through a special treasure map which I was unaware of until recently.
I was going to mention no Ultimates but you beat me to the punch. XD
is it true that shawdowbinders will be free for free trials too? can you cite sources?
During the (I believe) EU fanfest when re-addressing the expanded trial, Yoshi-P said that they would be considering expanding the trial further. This is by no means a hard confirm, but it is a soft confirm that the trial will be expanded further. @@roblox21242
Not only do you get Stormblood glams, but you get the swag mage, Red Mage. That's a double glam victory.

One snag regarding Eureka that Free Trial players may want to keep in mind: You will not be able to use /shout in Eureka, which will make communicating to someone that you've died and need a revive a bit problematic.
Thankful most players are casual and dont do eureka .
Yeah, it's best to join an adventuring foray into Eureka as a Free Trial player as, if you die and respawn in Eureka, you can lose levels.
@@cj_skywalker so when you die you lose levels? whats the highest item for free trial? is it just the tome clothes? in heavenwards there was alexander savage where the weapon is 375, is there such thing in stormblood? or are players just gonna be using the tome clothing because they cant access ultimate level 70?
@@roblox21242 You only lose levels if you use the respawn option that pops up, because you lose massive amounts of experience for respawning. If someone resurrects you, you don't lose EXP. This is to prevent players from trying to tackle areas too strong for their elemental level.
It sucks but if you want to complete the Eureka quests, you have to work around that. That's why people usually enter in teamed up parties or join parties when they enter, because someone in the party will probably have Raise. ;)
There are weapon drops for all tiers of Savage Raids. However, the Omega gear is inferior to the Scavaen gear. If you want to get Best in Slot in the Free Trial, Scavaen gear is the only way to go.
@@cj_skywalker thank you so much for this information I could not find any source to see which gear is better, but its good to know that i dont need to stress on farming gears in hard raids for best item level. are there still parties to do eureka? ive never done it or seen a pf for it.

lol your channel was the first thing i thought of when the expanded free trial was announced! even as a subbed player, your sidequest videos are still ones i come back to from time to time to see what i've missed. i also hope you enjoy the new msq, since even if it gets a bad rap, it is still very good imo, and the 4.x patches are some of my favorite in the game!
Sorry i had to come back to this Video. For the past few days, you line "soon you shall be blue my pritys". its living in my head and i can't stop smiling all the time, thank you for that. Some grinds i will not finish until the update drops but i will do my best to finish them all someday.

Before researching this, I had thought there was 5 custom delivery NPCs available in Stormblood. but it turns out the ones in the Firmament you need Shadowbringer to actually do. Luckily I double checked.
A big problem trial players will have with Eureka is inventory there are 40 items in eureka I would classify as important items stuff you put in your inventory until you done with them.
-11x Items uses to progress the relics + 1 to optionally enhance it further
-4x ingridents used to craft a exp pot + plus the potion itself
-7x different kinds of lootboxes
-5x different orbs to collect to obtain a certain gear piece
-2x sets of 3 different rare items to obtain a certain kinda power.
-3x set of items needed to enter a particular kind of portal
-2x items used to obtain a notable gear piece
It's gonna be growing issue with the amount of items you accumilate from unfinished projects be it eureka related, potsherds, totems from extreme trials, relic materials or rare fates be ready to stretch those 210 inventory slots to their limits or give in to desire and enter subscription to access the 350 additional inventory slots that comes with the retainers :9
Shout about death is the least of your problems
-Can't shout to tell you still on the way to an activity
-Can't shout to ask for information notable since the game don't offer a lot of guidance the game litterarly at a point tells you to ask another player on how to progress.
-Can't shout to ask for a tracker or share your own
You're right. A more generous extent in FT is more devastation in their inventory & armory management.
However, Eureka is side-content. Maybe they will complete BA & relate questlune once to get Ozma mount and skip it all. Probably..

I recently started my free Trial and wanted to pre-plan when to do what activities to avoid having to delete things from the inventory.
this game have been a huge life saver for me, as someone who is currently in school and cannot afford subscription due to no job and being poor, this game helps with anxiety and stuff.. like its my escape and has helped me a lot. its basically the only game i have on ps5 which my older sister gift me a during the pandemic. i hope the developers will add shadowbinders and keep free trial players in mind during updates.

I have a friend who has been playing for almost 2 years on free trial. He said he would buy the game when he had nothing else to do. I was so close to getting my first referal and getting the twintannia Mount, but now, with stromblood, he will have 2 more years of free content. I mean, I am happy that he is enjoying my favorite game, but no twintannia mount for me, I guess. Haha.

For the fisher, having access to Kugane will also unlock the new fishing boat roads. Yet more fishes! ^__^
Actually trial players have access to all fishing routes already I believe.
@@ojosama They added new routes with the patch 6.4. Look up you fishing log, among the "The High Seas" area, there will be 4 with undiscovered locations: The Sirensong Sea, Kugane, The Ruby Sea and The One River.
We will access these with Stormblood. ^_^
I really wanna play FFXIV, but I plan on getting a new computer first. Very cool to see the free trial being expanded again.
I started a free trial account about a year ago and I was about to buy Complete Edition with it's on going sale, but then saw trial extension news on Fanfest live stream...
Guess that will have to wait for at least another half a year haha.

u should still buy it while u can cus all it does is give you a code which you can just sit on until you're done with the trial

@@MagWizz that’s where it gets kinda confusing, the complete edition will most likely be updated to include dawntrail when it comes out but the price will probably go up too. No clue on what the price will be but i guess it all depends on when you feel like you’re done with the trial. If you’re still doing the trial by the time it’s out then 100% get the complete edition then but if you feel like you’re done and theres still months before it comes out you can either wait or cave and get the complete edition up to endwalker.

How far will the Idyllshire poetics gear from Heavensward carry you into Stormblood? With ARR into HW, my Ironworks poetics gear from ARR carried me no problem up until I was able to purchase the Idyllshire gear. Will the Idyllshire gear last just as long, or should I look into getting replacements at some point during the expansion?
You only start to see ilvl upgrades at 64 and then only by 5 i lvls and its HQ common quality. There is a level 65 dungeon that gives plundered quality gear set at ilvl 276.
It's pretty identical for Ironworks gear going into Heavensward. You can get past the first two dungeons without seeing any upgrades. Once you get to the third its' a 6 ilvl increase at plundered quality.
But you want brass tax? You don't need to upgrade your armor at all until you hit 60, and 70 respectively, if you use the best tome gear. Because you'll meet all the dungeons ilvl requirements until you get to 60 and 70.

With the expansion, has Square said if the FT players be able to play as Horthgar/Viera or these are locked behind the subscription?
They are technically Shadowbringer content, so I'm going to say they'll continue to be locked. But the trial had access to Stormblood and Shadowbringer content before, so I wouldn't say it is impossible.

Sorry, you cannot glam M'naago when you max out her rank. That's one of the few Custom Delivery characters you are BARRED from dressing up. (The only humanoid one, the others you cannot glam are Ehil Tou, who is a drake, and the bushman guy in Il Mheg because, well, he's a giant bush. Everyone else is fair game. I glammed Adrikagh with an electric blue toad suit. XD)

I would like to point out that prior to STB there were no Ultimates.
So this means FT players can attempt Ultimates now.

I wouldn't rely on Duty Finder, I'd use discord to find groups. It's how I cleared Coils Savage.

The only way to do Ultimate raid is to form a pre-party via Party Finder. And you need someone to carry you to clear O4S & O8S once.
Oh, and don't forget FT enjoyer can acquire only gear ilv.400 in SB. This is a little disadvantage when compare to lv.90 player with gear ilv.665. But trust me, it's enough for manual-restriction from players at random party finder. Except you have your own party. 😗

I got to Storm blood on the last 5 days of my free trial.
Though I did do a lot of ARR and HW sidequests and their respective raids. If I had focused purely on MSQ I probably would have reached Storm blood sooner
You aren't actually on the Free Trial. The Free Trial is unlimited in playtime. You are on the 30 days of not being charged after you buy the game. In the Free Trial you never purchase them game. Unfortunately that means you are now ineligible to use the free trial unless you make a new account.

I hear that Stormblood isn't partial to any job as Heavensward was partial to Dragoon. But the WoL was a Monk in Ala Mhigo and Samuari while in Othard. 🤷♂🤷♂

The canon jobs the WoL uses are: Archer in 1.0, Warrior in ARR, Dragoon in HW, MNK for Ala Mhigo portion of SB and SAM for Othard/Hingashi portions of SB.
Putting the other jobs further down. Don't expand this if you want to be surprised.
Dark Knight in ShB, Paladin in EW and finally (unconfirmed, but seems likely) Corsair - or some other piratey type job in DT.

Also, I am actually doing a Solo Bard challenge under the Free Trial on my newest PSN account. So far I have gotten to Level 19 in Archer and Level 8 in Botanist, Leatherworker and Carpenter. (I have the Road to 80 buff because I am on Dynamis.)

I have some guess, they gona lock BLU and Ultimates raids for free trial. This is my guess. Nothing more.
Considering that Blue was unlocked already and could be played by the trial players after beating 2.0, and we even got the Firmament unlocked after beating 3.3 despite it having Shadowbringer content I'd say this is extremely unlikely.

@@juannito6318what lol 😹 u r so wrong because I get to enjoy the game in full without any restrictions, and square enix really want people to buy the game cuz even though the free trial is in Stromblood but the restrictions still gonna remain the same, imagine being in stromblood and u still can't hire a retainer or u can't get anymore gil above 300K or literally now that eureka will be part of the free trial but that content is all about communication, u can't shout which makes everything a pain cuz if u died u can't tell people to Rez u , free trial player are gonna suffer if they do another content beside the Msq
