    Lucchese workers in El Paso Texas are nearly all Mexicans ha south or north of the border are the same people crafting them who have generations of experience in boot making Cheers from Salt Lake city! awesome channel and fantastic work!!

    I love Lucchese. Ive been wearing boots for over 10 years (a cheap brand, bougth em new for 180 at the time) but two years ago I found a pair of Lucchese Classics in a vintage store (for 120 bucks!) that just fit like a damn glove. I was already blown away by the way boots fit in general but nothing compares to those Lucchese Classics. A while after I bought them I went to the only dealer in my country (Netherlands) to see what they were initially worth, and found out they were made to order and probably worth over 1300 bucks. About two weeks ago I was looking for cheap riding boots and hit the same store, found another pair of Classics that fit just as amazing as my first pair. Couldnt believe my luck.

    Lucchese has legacy. They have made boots for President Lyndon B. Johnson, Bush Sr., Bush Jr., and Obama to name a few. They have made boots for Tommy Lasorda, Fernando Valenzuela, Karl Malone, and Big Papi. The Terminator himself came down to El Paso, TX to take a tour and took a picture with my dad. The members of the country band Midland have custom made boots from Lucchese. If you buy a pair of Lucchese today you have bought boots from bootmakers who have made boots for over 40 years. They started with Dan Post and ACME boots before Lucchese moved to El Paso.

      Lucchese has been making boots over a 100 years, not just 40 years...what do you mean by “They started with Dan Post & ACME...”? Dan Post didn’t come into business until the 1960s...unless “they” was referring to Midland and not Lucchese...

      @@konacopia Yes you are correct. Lucchese has been making boots since 1883. They moved to El Paso Texas in the early 1990's my dad just retired from Lucchese 2 months ago. Back in the days at 6601 El Paso Texas 79925 the factory known as Dan Post had their headquarters but they were owned by the ACME boot company if you don't believe me search Johnny Cash and ACME boots. Yes I am from El Paso Texas and my uncles still work at Lucchese. I own 20 pair of Lucchese's and thanks to my Mexican dad I was able to get them at a 50% discount.

    I had a nice pair of Lucchese boots back in the early 2000s. They were a black cherry color of the Seville boots with square toe that slanted downward instead of the straight square toe like today. I noticed over the years how the price of them skyrocketed from when I first bought them. I paid about 350.00 for the first pair, had an issue with them and then found them in another shop that discounted them because of a flaw, the discount was to about 425.00 because they were about 575.00 at the time. Before they discontinued them last year, they were 1150.00, which is ridiculous. If goatskin was that expensive, then why is the Lonestar boots considerably cheaper. I think they wanted to discontinue them a longer time back but people were really loving them.

    • @CobblersPlus
      @CobblersPlus  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It may be good to have your local cobbler take a look. Maybe they will come out and the sole can have some new ones added or switch the damaged ones for brass nails

    • @konacopia
      @konacopia ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@CobblersPlusMy understanding is that brass nails aren’t as desirable because unlike lemon wood pegs, they don’t shrink & dry with the leather shaft/sole when it gets wet, which is key in maintaining a moisture seal, & the brass nails can damage the stirrups as the soles wear down. Of course, if one doesn’t ride, damage to stirrups is less of an issue, but I’ve also read that since the brass nails don’t shrink with the leather, there is higher likelihood of moisture leaching into the sole/shaft, resulting in faster deterioration of the shaft over time, which makes sense, but I think in the big picture, most wearers will need to replace the soles before seeing that issue with brass nails come to light.

      I'm looking for info on this and little available on the web. Been looking through eBay for used boots and 2000s have been discontinued. I have a pair of 2000s bought on eBay. They are comparable to similar leather/style from Tony Lama.
      Cheaper line is now branded as 1883. Most have 3/4 welt so you won't see lemon wood pegs. Later 2000s were same. Earlier 2000s had half welt with lemon wood pegs. Lucchese's website lists the different toe and heel options so with same model boot you will see these options. Option number is appended to the boot model number. Note that Roper style boots, since 1980s, all have 3/4 welt so they won't have lemon wood pegs.
      Lucchese Classics are the most expensive line and some models are still available. Many on special order. Some boots labeled as "Lucchese Bootmaker" appear to be of high quality. These look like older boots, perhaps before they decided to call them "Classic." Anyone with more info, please share.

    Whoa there, compadre! I’m sorry but you are using the word “infamous” incorrectly in your video. The word “Infamous” has these meanings (Merriam-Webster’s dictionary):
    1) Having an exceedingly bad reputation; notorious
    2) Causing or deserving severe public condemnation; heinous.
    3) Convicted of a crime, such as treason or felony, that carries a severe punishment.
    You might want to revise your video and use the correct form of the word “famous” when talking about reputable companies, like Lucchese, so you do not get sued for liable and slander. Please consider taking an English grammar course while you’re at it to make sure you are speaking the English language correctly to keep yourself, and others who may be learning from you, out of addition potential trouble. Adios!

      Maybe you could explain how someone gets sued for “liable,” while we’re throwing stones from inside a glass house! Do you possibly mean libel? It’s an English word as well.

    I don’t know about men’s but women’s are not true to size, they run narrow.

    @0:06 & 0.46, you describe Lucchese as “infamous” twice. I watched your video in its entirety, and nothing you’ve said implicates anything that’s infamous about the brand...unless of course you don’t understand what the word “infamous” means, in which case, let’s hope a Lucchese rep doesn’t see this video. Pardon, if English isn’t your first language...

    I love Lucchese for their looks but they’re uncomfortable. I had 2 pairs and only wore them about 3x and through them out. Comfort and looks can go together

      Sounds like you didn’t a proper fit. Depending on the type of leather, it takes more than three wears to break them in. I’ve several pairs of Lucchese boots, Classics & 1883, and they all had varying times of break-in periods. They all fit like a glove & are quite comfortable. Making sure you get the right width is key too.

    The word "infamous" has a bad connotation. If you're going to bash Lucchese, I am not interested in watching. Take care. Bye.
