    🛑I'm Stephanie and behind the camera, you have my sister Cloud. I started cooking at 4 years of age. What?! Yes (LOL) I pulled up a chair and my first choice was to fry an egg. I was hungry and that’s all I have to say about that experience. I would like to say I’m completely self-taught in the kitchen, but I have the lovely women in my family to thank. They taught me to honor my ancestors and to make my Mexican Cuisine comfortable for my home. I thank our creator for my curiosity and my never-ending search for the next gastronomic satiation. Cooking is a huge part of my daily life as I prepare breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks for my two American Korean/Mexican boys. I know who does that these days? Me, I homeschool my two boys and I’m grateful for every moment spent. ❤️ If you love our recipes, Please take the time to Subscribe and support our channel. Originally from Tucson, made over 100 years this way...we called these Sonoran Beef tacos. No you do NOT get salmonella, the seasoned hamburger is pressed very thin against one side, and fried no less than three minutes on each side. Toppings are colby jack cheese, peas and carrots, shredded iceberg lettuce tossed with vinegar, and your favorite homemade taco sauce (cilantro, tomato, onions, jalapeno, can of tomato sauce, mexican oregano) avocado is optional. Serve with refried beans. Post script: sour cream is used primarily on rolled chicken tacos, not beef tacos.

    It's so nice to see tacos made this way! When my mother and dad were first married, they lived for a time in Nogales, and, as she put it "an older Mexican lady" taught her how to make tacos this way. These are the only way we've ever made them, and this is a beloved recipe of not only her kids, but her grandkids as well. We always and only used cheddar cheese, and a mix of fresh tomatoes, lettuce, onions and, oddly enough a few diced green olives . And you're right, no one ever eats just one taco, they're also great for breakfast the next day. Thanks for the recipe.

    I'm a man and I'm holding it down here at my house for 9 people! I love your videos and these videos have given my whole family the best food we have had in years and I try to reproduce y'all's food, but it's kinda hard to do being as how I live in very Eastern Tennessee. I live right at the base of the Smokey Mountain's.(We don't have the same brand's of food here). But I just get as close as I can and it seem's to work out very well. Everyone loves my Mexican food and that's because of Y'all. So Thank you so much! I actually drove to the Mexican food grocery store around here and bought Cilantrox2, Crema Fresca, Passillo pepper's, Buffalo sauce, Guahillo pepper's, and some Cojito cheese today on my way to my daughters school. So I got everything I need now to recreate you and your Sisters recipe's. Thank you so very much for y'all's help. Peace out.

    I’m 60 years old, retired Air Force and now a Military Family Consultant for the DoD. My love language is food and doing for others. I love serving good homemade food to the ones I care for. This includes family & friends, warrior families, fellow combat veterans and workmates. I’ve been known to make a few dishes now and then for just plain ole good people in the community. You know, Patriots.
    You help me show love by teaching me how to prepare deliciously traditional Texmex and gold ole fashioned goodness from the kitchens of people como sus abuelita y mi Tio Ben. You help me honor him by cooking traditional Mexican food. Thank you mi amigas.

    Love it I thought I was the only one that made them this way... my great grandma and grandma made them that way and now I do for my children. I add finely diced jalapeños and onion to the meat . Also I add the meat to the tortilla straight out from the package and add the meat then flat I fry for a while the fold it over to fry for a crisp shell . Thank you for all the yummy recipes I love your channel

    I made these for supper tonight. AND OH MY GOSH!!!!. I'm a vegetarian so I used black beans seasoned w/homemade taco seasoning. Then I smashed them before putting on the tortillas. I couldnt believe how wonderful they tasted. After frying, I open them & added lettuce, onions, cheese & avocado salsa. I'm in heaven. PLUS! I loved how every bite had everything in it & it didnt loose all the filling as I ate it. All in all I give these a 25 out of 10! Absolutely loved them.

    BRAVO and Greetings from San Diego! Finally someone has made delicious oil-fried tacos close to the way I remember them from back in the 1950s and 60s here in southern California and Tijuana. Some Cali-Mex restaurants (& even Jack in the Box) had special half-moon-shaped tongs to hold the tortillas closed while dipped in the oil. And the oil in most places was manteca/lard. Holding the meat-filled tacos with those tongs ensured that the outer tortilla was crisp, while the filled part of the corn tortilla remained more deliciously chewy. No doubt less healthy, but of course you don't want to solely eat fried food. But the aroma and taste of those old-style tacos was supreme! Hope you do more similar videos, with variations like with shredded beef, chicken and even potato. And to stretch the filling (for us po' folk) why not mix the hamburger with potato, onion and maybe a little frijoles refritos, and maybe use a little less meat filling, topping with shredded iceberg lettuce, tomato, salsa and a little white Mexican cheese (instead of cheddar).
    Thanks again hon' for getting real with some delicious original-style food and keep up the great show!

    Hola, I just watched your frijoles puercos , 100K CELEBRATION episode, I Love You!
    I just discovered your channel on TH-cam a week ago, the first one I watched you make tamales wrapped in corn husks, yum! You’ve given me inspiration to try to make those. We love tacos in my house and I’m making your lovely Tacos Dorados this weekend for my guys , my little bro and my nephew who live with me. I’m a 56 year old gringa who grew up as a child in Puerto Rico and have continued to cook those dishes from mi isla bonita. My lovely native islander friends shared their food with us all the time and taught us how to make so many dishes. I’m half French-Canadian and my grandma would cook with me when I would go spend summers with her in Quebec. My father usually made some of her cooking as we were growing up, it was French country food, not fancy French food from France. My Mom was from Mississippi and made traditional foods from where she was raised, smothered chicken and rice and chicken and dumplings, fried okra, black eyed peas, Lima beans, she made her version of gumbo without the heat, all kinda bland but good too. She made the best potato salad,warm with lots of mayo. We make it still today when we have ham or bbq chicken, or fried pork chops. My family traveled a great deal when we were growing up and my brothers and I became little soup chefs , creating things my parents never had as children. I can make some Asian dishes, Chinese and Thai, we always loved Mexican food and attempted to make it. Tacos , refried beans, fajitas beef and chicken. I started using the traditional spices to flavor our meats. I was sick of packaged seasonings . I would use garlic, onion, cumin, Mexican oregano to flavor the meats. Everyone loved it that way. You were making your salsa with your fried tacos and I’d like to know what pepper you used when you boiled your tomato’s. You said it was mild, I can’t handle the hot ones, I love the flavor of peppers just not the heat. I’ll have to watch that episode again to see which one you used.
    OMG, you made me tear up tonite watching you talk about who you are and introducing your beautiful sons and your handsome Man and Beautiful sister. Even your cute dog! I’m so glad I found your shows on TH-cam, you should have your own show on the Food Network! Really your that good! Your gracious and lovely, teaching virtual strangers how to make your family’s recipes. My name is Suzette and have been in Tampa for many years, I used to fly to Houston and Laredo for my job and my team would all drive back and eat at all the authentic Mexican restaurants we could.Some of the best were in Laredo, where we would spend most of our trips. I just wanted to thank you for what your doing and what pleasure it is to learn new dishes from you, Thank you!

      @bullshitcaller1541 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@chayterry3129 Why would it be an insult to Hispanucs when it was never claimed as anything but Tex-Mex. A lot of so-claimed "Mexican" food is really Texan. Examples of Tex-Mex food include nachos, and any dish that uses beef, black beans, white flour, or yellow cheese. These ingredients are not popular south of the Rio Grande or the Mexican border. Chili, tamales, queso and chips, and fajitas are ALL made popular in Tex-Mex. I live in Central Texas, and we never go to interior Mexican restaurants. They use goat (birria), hominy, mole, menudo, tripas, etc. Just like we would not claim Mexican barbecue as Texan, dont claim Tex-Mex as Mexican.
