My current setup mainly uses: Cinebrass Trumpets, Hollywood Brass French Horns, & Berlin Brass Trombones/Tuba

Man, I just have to say that this video is super helpful. I recently got Hollywood Orchestra Diamond after using EWQL Symphonic Orchestra for years, and I've been struggling to get to that ultra-realistic level. Your videos have given me a really good goal to reach for and now I'm finally getting there. Thanks a lot for your excellent content! I'd love to see some stuff about string runs if you ever get the time!

    both sound great.
    I have the Hollywood Brass.
heard a demo with Cinesamples, got impressed, so I wanted to find a comparison on youtube.
    Now I can definitely
    appreciate Hollywood Brass more.
Hollywood Brass absolutely has more depth and definition,
much more real live sound, but that could be because the verb which can be adjusted.
    I'm staying with Hollywood Brass.

These are great libraries to compare too because east west has the sony (culver) scoring stage convolution reverb, so they'll both sound pretty close to being in the same room -- I say pretty close because the instrument will clearly react differently to the convolution than to the space (nothing can replace the real thing lol), but it still should sound close. It's pretty useful if you need to use both libraries for whatever reason and want them (and other instruments) in the same space.

I recently decided to stop using ensemble samples in favor of multiple solo libraries. I use divisimate to keep it realistic. So far, I’m fairly happy with the results.

Cinebrass for trumpets. Hollywood for Horns.

CineBrass has a more rounded sound; HB has a bit of raspiness in the tone even in low velocity.

Those horns from East West sound amazing! With the trumpet I don't feel a big difference.

J Hummelgaard It actually depends on where you use them. I pretty much prefer HB in busier orchestrations. They have more power. But Cinebrass has better playability and intimacy, great for melodic or dynamic lines.
