Keep your eye open for evo dynas man i just got a 96 fxds at the end of september and ive already done bars and wiring, fairing, new lighting. Just ordered cam upgrade stuff and picking up a seat soon i got it all original with just screamin eagle mufflers on it and 47k for 3400 bucks. Youll find one keep your eye on marketplace and craigslist
Reason to purchase it is the big grin you get once you start the engine and starts rolling. they look and sound badass and are super fun to ride. also Harleys vibrate less than chinese cruisers when youg et them up to high rpm due to the rubber mounted engines. People who say harley shakes too much have not ridden a Harley
YOU WATCH YOUR MOUTH!!! The dyna is perfect once you upgrade the brakes, suspension, the frame, wheels the tires l, and the engine. Plus all the stuff to make it look better. I’m just realizing it’s not perfect.
Got a 2011 Dyna, pretty much stock atm, not planning to do a clubstyle or wheeling with it, just love the vibrations, the sound and the cruisin'. Lots of defects, don't care at all. I love it and that's enough for me.
I have a 08 FXDL, I love the bike plenty of power, and style. Only Mods are Python pipes, Air intake and 11" straight bar risers everything else is bone stock. I actually ride the Dyna more than any of my Super Sports, CBR600rr and CBR1000rr
Never owned a dyna, but I experienced a death wobble (especially on rain grooves) on my 1996 Harley FLHT on the way to Sturgis last summer. Lyle and Stanley at Speed Pros Shop in Piedmont installed a "Touring Link" stabilizer on my bike. It attaches to frame and motor. No more wobble! Lyle got part from J and P Cycles. I think it goes for around $230.00. Solved my problem. Stay safe.
I think the reason Harley never "fixed" the death wobble issue is that it has a lot to do with the alignment of the motorcycle. In the service manual for my 01 DX, you need to loosen the engine mounts and run the bike to seat the engine right. Steering head adjustment also needs to be on point. Tires have a lot to do with it as well. I love these bikes. They are simple, easy to work on, burly ass bikes that will run forever. Not the fastest but so much fun. I've contemplated getting rid of it a few times for something newer and faster, but I just can't do it. They never feel the same to me. They always feel fragile and cheap compared to my DX.
The fix for the wobble is to throw away the stock rear mounts..and put Glide Pro pivot or Mad monkey billet mounts and pivot.and performance grade springs in the fork.tubes..
I don't really stunt anymore but I fucking love my dyna and wouldn't trade it for any other bike. I would just have to have multiple scoots. People I work with criticize it, saying it's no good over 300 miles. I'll ride my fxd anywhere they take their road glides. Nimble and punchy baby!
Robbie's Incoherent thoughts people always talk about wobble, just replace all the oem mounts and you will be fine.. no nee to spend any money on upgraded mounts, the Oem ones work great, they just wear out that's all
@@Voltomess Not impossible. I've been riding for 5 years and I've had 4 bikes, about to be 5. Never more than 1 at a single time. I just switch it up a lot. Except for my latest bike they were all under 2 grand. Not to mention the 3 little dirt bikes I've owned over the years, each for $500. Not saying 2k isn't a lot for someone but it's hardly trust fund money.
My sportster death wobbles with the slightest breeze and hitting 100 is like warping through time with vibration if the speed wobble doesn't get you first. Lol
I've got a 98 wide glide with a 100" stroker motor and 18" apes. Had the wobble. Spent $400 on true traxx....$25 on new neck bearings and $25 on new front wheel bearings and wobble gone. It's the neck bearings that accentuate the wobble. So for $450 I got rid of the wobble. There is a fix and it's not expensive. Dynas are the most sought after and most commonly owned Harley. Don't hate, appreciate.
Everyone is a critic untill they feel that super glide smooth ride and quick handling. Its like anything else, not built flr performance out of the box, but it can be rebuilt that way. I love my fxd.
I've owned 2 Dynas, and FXDI and an FXLR and I only had 1 problem and it was with both of them. When the weather was cold (like below 0 to maybe 30 degrees F) They did not want to start. I used to drain the battery just cranking and cranking trying to start them. Then Jump them with my truck battery and they would fire up as soon as I touched the starter button. I sure do miss them
I just bought a low mileage Dyna for six grand, whoever had it before me must have ripped it down to the frame and totally rebuilt it with every custom part known to man. Got a super expensive bike for a steal.
What year and model? I bought a low mileage Dyna for 7000 and it was a total POS. Over 4000 dollars into the repairs just to get it running and fix the problems that happened again and again and again. So I’m curious about your year and model
After watching this I feel super lucky, I just bought my first one. 2000 FXD for $4,600 with only 7,800 miles. It definitely needs some upgrades to fit me better but I still am happy with it for a starter motorcycle
I have a 2012 Dyna and love it. Tried selling 🤑🤑🤑 it 3 times I think and each time I pulled out of the Deal.. Think I’m destined to just keep it... If the bike puts a SMILE 😃 on your DIAL, the money is a Secondary factor... Great Video 🎥 keep up the great work mate!!!! 👍👍👍👍🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺
@@billharden7127, mine’s a streetbob, I’ve done some work to it and have plans for more, will someday get a bagger, I have to say though, I’m going to give Indian a good look before I decide on what to buy, test rode a Challenger, nice bike, just felt a little underpowered.
Harley upgraded/fixed the Dyna speed/death wobble by discontinuing the Dyna and coming out with the superior softail frame which handles way better for braking and high speeds.
I had a 01 fxdx and some other dynas. I now have a 2015 fxdl with all the necessary upgrades you discuss here. One of the best things I've ever put on all of them is the Sputhe Chassis Stabilizer. It's always fixed that wobble. On the fxdx, I flew from Dago to Oakland to pick up the bike and rode it back down. As soon as I hit decent highway speed, the wobble started. White knuckled it for a bit haha. Slapped the chassis stabilizer on it once I got back and never experienced it again. Just put one on the 2015 fxdl and, again, feels so tight. Ended up getting run over on that 01 fxdx, after I had it all dialed in, of course. Still my favorite bike and you're right, they are so over priced. Thanks for your channel. Take care.
Nice garage dude, my Dyna wide glide gets delivered Wednesday, With a great selection of upgrades VnH longshots, led light conversion, uprated forks, flush mounted gas cap and led fuel gauge, and Willwood brake conversion , it’s my first Harley, I hope I like it 💪🏻👍🏻
More power to ya...but I sure don't miss the hard and long startups in cold weather. Far as I know it's just as easy to tune a fuel injected system. You'd pull out a laptop rather than wrenches. 🤓
That’s why I bought a XR1200. The Harley character, decent speed, Planted...no death wobble at almost 140mph, able to drag knee, harder to find too and they always draw attention and questions. only downfall is not to comfy for passenger....
It makes me wonder how much investment bias is a factor with Harley owners being so into their brand. A person who invests with a decent amount of resources into anything tends to try and look at their decision in a positive light. When something questions their bias, people tend to dig even deeper into their position. I'm glad that you can look at the positives and negatives of the Dyna.
It's deeper than investment bias...the fact is Americans Love Harleys and have for over 100 years..many of the things people hate about them are the things others Love them for...also the fit and finish of hd is not matched by most, proof that is in the resale value..there just a loved peice of Americana that I hope never goes away..ps, I also love metrics..I don't understand why we can't Love all bike, but I say screw that!✌
It's simple supply and demand. The reason the used bike prices are so high Is because they are very desirable. Nobody wants metric cruisers because they just are not as cool, they have no soul. Harley Davidson is such an iconic American brand it is almost ingrained into the American mythos. For a lot of people it's going to be Harley Davidson or nothing.
Well if you know the negatives and plan to change them. When all is said and done.. you have made it your own. And it's a different connection. I have a 2015 lowrider. It felt like a giant mini bike when I bought it. Completely underwhelming. It does cruz nice 2 up. Wich is why I bought it. Old lady wanted to go for rides. I didn't want a full dresser. But it's a love hate relationship instantly. Youde love to be able to afford to fix the things you hate for the sake of the bike. Lol. But honestly suspension first!! Do that and you can start to feel the bikes potential. To be atleast satisfying. Anyone telling you these bikes are fast or handle well stock. Simply doesn't have a clue what they are talking about. Or has never experienced a good handling fast bike.
I like Harley Davidson for so many reasons they are American first off I love the power and torque, the sound, the look, the shake of them when idle and the respect between Harley owners and vets
I agree except the death wobble. I haul ass on mine constantly and have upgraded my suspension. Soft rear shocks and tight springs in the front and an alignment. Never has done the wobble since the upgrades. Maybe it depends on the parts you use to build the bike. Was not cheap at all to get it to this status either 😂
I snagged my 2016 dyna street bob completely decked out with top aftermarket. Brakes. Motor mounts. Seat. Sissy bar. Hard saddle bags. The works. 7500 miles. I paid 9k.
Interesting video and some good points. I have a Dyna but I didn't buy it because I wanted a fast high performance crotch rocket, I bought it because I wanted a Dyna - same as my other two Harleys. I have had the high performance stuff and, mainly due to old injuries, can't be doing with that anymore. The Harley is a more relaxed ride and it feels like you are riding fast when really your'e not - which is a good thing! They are not easy to ride (I have a BMW for that!), but are very rewarding to ride. So don't kid yourself that it's hi tech or super efficient, it aint. It is fun though.
Just for reference, the sputhe engine stabilizer kit alongside brand new Harley motor mounts will prevent all forms of speed wobble on a dyna up to about 95 mph, after that the rest is just dialing in your front suspension to prevent it completely. When the front is too soft it will cause high speed wobble no matter what else you do
Bought my 1999 Dyna Wide Glide with 6800 miles on the clock. Been riding Nortons before. I absolutely love my Dyna. I sit at 60mph max never had a speed wobble. It's a big engined cruiser. Love it to death. Use it like it's meant to be used and you'll never have an issue. Wouldn't swap it for the world. Looks beautiful too.
You are spot-on with the speed wobble but it is easy to fix yourself you just have to add the two missing chassis stabilizers/links that the factory did not put on to save a few pennies. I went with Sputhe but there are other brands. What's ironic is the rubber Mount Sportster comes stock with all three chassis links and it's a cheaper bike.
@@maxtharipper Keeping the front of the engine straight in the rear swinger or bolts to the engine case, Straight Only letting the engine go up-and-down and not side to side. I am veteran, a 2014 Sportster 883 owner and hardcore Harley enthusiast from Chennai India and Dyna Street Bob next bike customer. There may be 1000 flaws in Dyna when comparing all brands of motorcycles, but I still love the Dyna street Bob and Dyna fat Bob, the only problem any customer would face is money, that's the only minus, but riding a heavy cruiser with bad ass attitude and style without stability, without ergonomics, without any qualities of any Chinese, japanese or European bikes is what Harley Davidson is known for, you will never get the feel of riding Harley in any other brand in the world, this one reason is enough for buying a evolution, or Dyna twin engines motorcycle. And Jon had you done stunts in any other brand I would have not viewed your videos, I appreciate that you are already doing well in the right direction, the bottom like, I like big cruisers, or choppers like big dog K9, Jon if you want to give more excitement than what you did till now, do wheelies in big dog K9 Jon. Don't mistake, I expressing this way because I love these type of motorcycle 1. Dyna Street Bob 2. Dyna Fat Bob 3. V Rod Muscle 4. Big dog K9 . Do you agree all these models I love are very bad ass like no other in the world..No wonder USA is the best in all the world even in motorcycle styling. All the best Jon Bro.👍
Might want to change title from why my Dyna sucks too why my one wheeled driving sucks!? How can you see where your going an who your running over? Bet your neighborhood just loves you with pies an cakes for Christmas? All in fun, be careful! Or maybe I should say be more careful! I can share with you some laughs, I own a 03' 100' anniv Dyna FXDX!
I've had 2 Dynas. 1st was a 16 Wideglide 2nd traded for a 15 Switchback. Loved them both for different reasons. The Wideglide was just plain fun to ride. The Switchback had the bags and handled awesomely.
Wow, commenting on a 2 year old video. Just hanging out in the dungeon. Watching TH-cam. Traded my all time dream bike, 2013 wide Glide. In 2020 for the SGS. Miss my old bike. Love the new one. Great videos. Thank you for sharing
Hey, I think I may know that guy too... from Oklahoma to Hurricane Utah and back. HAHAHA!!! Sadly, I kinda miss the 124ci Dyna. Maybe one of these days I'll build up a 131ci M8 Softail Fatbob. Yet another upload that kinda makes me miss my Dyna days. Congrats on 42k+ subscribers now, that is awesome man!
I just put a fuel moto 110” street outlaw kit on my 2011 street bob, it is fast as hell now. Haven’t raced any sport bikes but I don’t think they’d be running away too fast on me
I agree with most of what you said for sure I bought my 07 dyna wide glide for 6800 ...and was happy af to get that kind of deal I have stage 1 and am pleased where I'm at with power as for the wobble it's about upkeep on the bushings and neck bearings and the tires slash tire pressure I wouldn't trade mine
Just bought my first street bike at 59 years old and went with a 2000 Dyna wide glide. As soon a I saw it I knew it was the one I wanted. After watching videos of the infamous death wobble I decided to go over everything to prevent it if possible. Changed motor mounts, checked wheel bearings, etc. One thing never mentioned is what speed it happens at?
I bought a 2012 Dyna wide glide from a Harley dealership for $8400.00 it had 17000. Miles on it. Completely serviced including new tires. That was 2 years ago and 26,000 miles ago. So I have close to 44k on it now. Never had a hint of the death wobble. Love the bike I new it was the bike for me when I sat on it. It was like stepping into the modern world. My previous bike was a 05 soft tail. I do miss the the little quirks of the carburetor and the soft spongy brakes. But it look good and was great to ride. Except the seat sucked. I was at the dealer looking to test ride a loner seat. Next thing you know I'm test riding a dyna and calling my wife to tell her I bought a new used bike.Yeah that didn't go over well. But I love the bike. Going to hot rod it out here soon and by a bagger to go on the long hauls. But no death wobble.
The thing I like most about your video is the replies. There is a lot of comment on what can fix the issue versus live with it if it is an issue. I think I may have experienced it a couple times but that was at like 90 MPH on interstate, and yes it may have been grooved. Regardless, I love my Dyna except the weight. Wish it were a couple hundred lighter, but what the heck .....1500 cc . ....
One of my bikes is a 1999 FXDX that I bought new 21 years ago. For a Harley it handles great. Compared to a modern sportbike - not so much. I have doubled the HP/torque output and my next build will cost me another $13k. There is no way to recoup the $$$ I have in it so I might as well run it forever. Darn good bike that has served me well. Another thing a Dyna isn't - a touring bike. You don't want to pull 500 mile days on one...
03 FXD All into it ! Best ride eveaaa ! Loose spokes = high speed wobble / low tire pressure = high speed wobble / weak fork springs = high speed wobble / bad swingarm bushings = high speed wobble / bad or loose neck bearings = high speed wobble.. And the list goes on.. Im into the old FXDs because simplicity.. I prefer carb also.. Youve got mad skills on that ride !
I have 2011 Street Bob and absolutely love it. However its my first and only bike I have owned. Just curious what your opinion is for me a 6'7" 270lb'er. Have made several upgrades to make it comfortable.
Speed wobbles make you realize how precious life is. I got my 2010 wide glide off a mechanic who worked at the harley dealer where I test drove another wide glide. He pulled me to the side gave me his number and I bought his bike🤣
Speed wobbles are always a side effect of rider input. Stop gripping and pushing on the bars, use your legs your hands on the bars is only for steering and operating the controls
@@monkmoto1887 Not "ALWAYS" from rider input my guy. Improperly setup suspension, worn engine mounts, tire pressure, road surface, etc can cause a speed wobble. With the Dyna, the swingarm is mounted to the transmission case, which is mounted to the engine, which is rubber mounted to the frame in two locations with a link system between the jugs above the intake. It's very common for the engine mounts to be worn enough to put the swingarm out-of-true with the frame. Suspension geometry is also critical with the Dyna. A lot of riders swap rear shocks out for more comfort, more clearance, and added suspension travel. If the front suspension isn't equally upgraded, its known to throw the rake and trail out of spec - which in turn leads to speed wobbles.
Unruly Rider hey man love your explanation. Just wondering what u meant by having the front suspension equally upgraded. I have legend 14” suspension in the rear and stock suspension in the front. Do you mean that I have to get longer forks (2” up) or just change out the springs??
I inherited my Dyna from my Dad after he passed away in 20'. The only issue I have is the guy he got it from half assed mod'ed it with older parts from a previous bike and f-d things up. It's still rideable, my dad rode it for years that way. I'm just having hell finding revtech brake pads and a correct mount/foot peg for the brake foot. But I love riding it.
I bought a 98 Dyna Convertible, best bike I ever owned. Put 100,000 miles on it before it was stolen. Rode all over North America, from Mexico to Canada. Never let me down on the road once. Road to Sturgis in '99, 110 mph all day long, boots up on highway pegs, the road racing underneath my boots. Thunderheader exhaust, sound was perfect. Loved that bike! Never head a wobble, bike was rock solid and I rode it like I stole it. Maybe your steering head bearings not right.
Yup, suspention, power, handling, weight, parts, prices, it all sucks. Still i bought a 2002 Dyna Lowrider. Why? . . . it had a stage4 kit with 107hp and 162nm torque. THAT's why 🤗. Lots of fun. I put Hyperpro's in the front and ISS shocks on the rear. No problems with wobble.
I have had a few bikes... I really enjoyed my Honda F3. I currently have a 2008 Street Bob Dyna with 18kmi, with Vans and Hines pipes and screaming eagle programmable tuner. It's satin denim, very simple. It's fast, but obviously not sport bike fast. What I like least about my dyna are the brakes. What I like best is the look. Dynas look great... It looks great, it rides great, Speed wobble is for real tho. I paid 5500 for it a year ago. I see them around 7500. Seems like an ok investment if you find the right one.
CV Performance parts really woke up my 88inch FXD, instant response. I'm looking at getting a Predator front mount for stability and better vibration control. Rebuilding my front forks and going to try out some Redline or Amsoil fork oil.
Only things I dislike about my Street Bob are it doesn't stop for crap and the extreme heat especially after putting the 110 SE tire shredder kit on it. Jon you would have ZERO difficulties drifting my bike lol!!!
Do the road kings have the wobble issue as well? I know some get the crazy wobble in the handlebars. I had a yamaha bolt that shook like mad if you took the hands off gong 30 mph.
@@JonsMotoGarage I never experienced the full wobble but anything before the frame update in 09 benefits from the link. The link made diving into corners feel so much better. I guess essentially you don't have the rubber mounted motor swaying slightly based on inertia.
The rear tire becomes square after a lot of highway miles. This can cause a serious wobble. If you only yank the throttle while going straight then again your rear tire is square. So when you hit the corners at high speeds it has a hard time planting and you gear a wishy washy feeling in the rear end.
Most speed wobbles on motorcycles, as well as bicycles, is due to a loose adjustment of the fork tube bearings. Where the triple trees go into the frame. Every new bike usually needs the head tube adjusted after a couple of hundred miles.
I guess I don't have that speed itch that many do nowadays. I had my '10 FXDC up to 100 once after I first bought it. Looking back, it was just dumb. My bike was bought for cruising...thats all I need it for. 🤷♂️
I don't own one had two Harleys a non rubber mount 1200 sportster I was to big for it and a pre Road King Electra Glide Sport both handled excellent loved the Electra power comfort fuel mileage, sound, i looked at several Dynas but I can't pull the trigger on it, I did own a Norton Commando with a similar set up no wobble handled beautifully but t think the new hard tail slim is what I want, it's the best Harley ever made in my humble opinion
The Dyna line (RIP) was an oddity in an odd lineup of bikes. They are cool but have inherently built in issues which for myself I would never own one. The late 70s FXE at least mounted it's drivetrain and suspension rigid with bolts, not rubber. The isolastic mounting of engine and swingarm on 70s Britbikes is what killed off those brands. Knowing that, what the hell was HD thinking?
The Isolastic mountings on the Norton Commando didn't kill it off. On the contrary, it kept it popular for many years past the Japanese invasion. It was voted Superbike of the year in the UK for 7 years in a row.
@@harrywragg9883 Imagine that, a Britbike being superbike of the year in the UK... Mounting the drivetrain like that is fine unless you start making real power. My buddy has a Dyna with a 120R engine. He refers to it as the "Deathtrap". Once he sorted the bike he quit riding it.
Good information.thank you for mentioning stratoliner .they just don't get it.only time I have issues with stratoliner 5 mph lower with momma on back longer a bit heavy some times. ?
I have a Dyna. I bought it because it was a 100th Anniversary bike. It's fun to ride, and I sure don't hate it. The really funny part is, I have a Yamaha Roadliner, which is much more comfortable and out performs the H-D. I'm not a brand loyalist.
2017 low rider s 110 Ci haven’t a had a single issue since I bought it 3 years ago and I ride a lot! No death wobble no nothing it’s been the funnest harley I’ve owned
Genuine question which dyna is the best evolution of the dyna platform I have a street Bob and a lowrider. Harley really should have fitted a industrial alloy swingarm has standard. I’ve never experienced a wobble but my bikes have 49mm tree truck forks. And I do use the two inch drop kit in the forks. I ride a lot harder than 99% of any Harley riders like your self I ride super bikes. Supermoto and motocross.
I've had my Fat Bob six years. Other bikes have come and gone through my garage, I own two Harleys and a Kawasaki right now, but I'm never selling this Dyna
Honestly I do want a 104 lowrider but if i'm paying up I want the 6 speed so I can endlessly cruise the parkways and not be afraid of not having enough power between the knees
Its in the frame, it can't be fixed. Its for cruising not canyon carving. It was on the FL's too, but was fixed with the square tube and triangle tube rear swing arms.
I agree with you. I paid 8k for my 2011 superglide with under 5k miles. I’ve spent a few grand already in upgrades and definitely not done. Overall, This is definitely one of my favorite bikes I’ve ever owned.
im no expert, but im pretty sure the speed wobbles are due to the dual rear springs. most motorcycles have one rear spring, so if it is bouncing up and down its gojng to do it straight. but with the dual rear springs, you can probably have them oscillating when its bouncing around. that would cause the rear end to wobble a bit. and if you have that happen with the right frequency, it could amplify itself. thats my theory at least. i would think they would make some way to make them act as one unit, which would probably eliminate the risk
They switched the frames after 2009 so anything after 2010 should be good with the death wobble #1 thing is make sure your psi tire pressure is perfect
I agree the dyna wobbles suck ass and have almost taken me out a few times but I just hang on and when in doubt throttle out....good suspension and steering stabilizer and better motor mounts cleared that up made my own front motor mount and works a hell of alot better then any on the market
Wow I'd love to sell you something! I bought an '03 Super Glide with 9000 miles on it for 5 Grand... not a scratch on it and I still had all the silly stickers and decals on the frame and gas tank
(Sweden)Got my dyna super glide about 2 months ago used. Love 99% of it (the other 1% im working on fixing) What i don't like about it? 1. The muffler fell off week 1. (most like previous user for some reason removed it, re-installed it and forgot to re-tighten it)... 2. the shift rod was 4mm to short, got a new one... got the wrong one... it "works" but hey, i got my license for about 2 months... still learning, getting a new one in a bout a week that is supposed to work. Is it the best bike for me? Probably not. Is it a bike i tremendously enjoy? absolutely! Do i want more torque? more speed? Yea! but im getting a different bike for those purposes! This bike? it's for enjoying the road, the scenery and because i just love it! Coincidentally incase it is not obvious... this is my first bike xD
The one thing I hate about the dyna is that everyone that has a dyna frame calls there bike a dyna. The dyna frames is the frame for so many different bikes over like 35 yrs. It makes no sense when you tell someone you ride a dyna. You have that video where the guys rented what looks like a fxdb and say it's shit performance there are better bikes than that for performance on a dyna frame (like a fxdx) people need to stop with this dyna shit and say what bike you actually ride. No you can call it whatever you want I don't really give a shit lol.
Thing only thing I hate about Dynas is that I dont have one yet
Keep your eye open for evo dynas man i just got a 96 fxds at the end of september and ive already done bars and wiring, fairing, new lighting. Hell yeah brother. Pick one up, your soul will thank you.
Reason to purchase it is the big grin you get once you start the engine and starts rolling. they look and sound badass and are super fun to ride.

Lots of defects, don't care at all.
I love it and that's enough for me.
Hells yeah! Every bike has its own character. Just a matter of matching the right bike with the right rider.
I have a 08 FXDL, I love the bike plenty of power, and style. Only Mods are Python pipes, Air intake and 11" straight bar risers everything else is bone stock. I actually ride the Dyna more than any of my Super Sports, CBR600rr and CBR1000rr
Had a dyna twin cam with a S&S super E carb and straight pipes. The quickest harley I've ever owned. Loved it.
I've got 50,000 miles on mine and zero wobble,...
Dyna is best of the 36 bikes I've owned...
Robbie's Incoherent thoughts people always talk about wobble, just replace all the oem mounts and you will be fine.. no nee to spend any money on upgraded mounts, the Oem ones work great, they just wear out that's all

36 motorcyckles? eithr youi 200 years old or extremely rich
You've had 35 other Harleys?
😂😂😂
It's a 2007 Dyna Street Bob with just under 20K miles.
Cant blame the bike...it was you who didnt look it over good enough. You can't expect used bikes to be perfect.
Happy to hear that you backed out each time it's meant to be brotha
Biggest HD owner move.. Put it on sell just too show off but never sell it xD love it
Have a 2012 dyna too, absolutely love it and may get something else one day but will never sell this one.
@@karateman856 I have a 2012 dyna wide glide. I l love it's not going anywhere. I will buy a harley turing bike in the future.
@@billharden7127, mine’s a streetbob, I’ve done some work to it and have plans for more, will someday get a bagger, I have to say though, I’m going to give Indian a good look before I decide on what to buy, test rode a Challenger, nice bike, just felt a little underpowered.
You by a Dyna for cruising and comfort . I bought a 98 Dyna Superglide and I wouldn’t ride anything less
Harley upgraded/fixed the Dyna speed/death wobble by discontinuing the Dyna and coming out with the superior softail frame which handles way better for braking and high speeds.
IF you want a Dyna without a wobble, buy a 2020 FXLRS.
Take care.
I LOVE my Dyna. Installed true track mounts and haven't had an issue since.
Mine doesn't wobble until about 120.
@@downtime4563 that's when it happens is around that speed you also need to check if the rear wheel is running true
Nice garage dude, my Dyna wide glide gets delivered Wednesday,
With a great selection of upgrades VnH longshots, led light conversion, uprated forks, flush mounted gas cap and led fuel gauge, and Willwood brake conversion , it’s my first Harley, I hope I like it 💪🏻👍🏻
Carburetor is a plus! Easy to work on and tweak as opposed to a fuel injection system.👍
👨👩👧❤
Except Harley's fuel injection never needs work....
Sunk cost all the way! 🤣🤜🤛
Was not cheap at all to get it to this status either 😂
you still alive bro?
Love my Dyna! Never had a speed wobble, ever!
I’ve experienced that same death wobble on my sportster. I’m sure the cause is something very different but I do think that’s worth mentioning
anything with dual rear shocks can death wobble
You are spot-on with the speed wobble but it is easy to fix yourself you just have to add the two missing chassis stabilizers/links that the factory did not put on to save a few pennies. I went with Sputhe but there are other brands. What's ironic is the rubber Mount Sportster comes stock with all three chassis links and it's a cheaper bike.
I believe they fixed it from 2012 forward
@@snakebite6511 That Lowrider S had a ton of parts on it, did he say if they did the motor mounts??
I have a 97 Lowrider and I love it. They're not for everybody but that bike caused me to fall in love with Harleys.
Engine mounts, and suspension fix mine, I know that for a fact , and so do you John you Road it too.😁
Hahaha! Yours runs like a top!
What do engine mounts help with?
@@maxtharipper Keeping the front of the engine straight in the rear swinger or bolts to the engine case, Straight Only letting the engine go up-and-down and not side to side. There are videos on TH-cam that you can see it explained, Big bear choppers shows why the stock mounts are bad those Are the mounts I install on my bike.
I have one ☝️ the wobble is a issue. When the wobble is worse than normal the front tire has gone flat in the passing lane.
How I got my road name- Wobbles.
What? No!
Have a 04 dyna, bought this week a 883. Wauw what a great concept
See if you can put your gauges about 4" higher.
Don't mistake, I expressing this way because I love these type of motorcycle
1. Dyna Street Bob
2. Dyna Fat Bob
3. V Rod Muscle
4. Big dog K9 .
Do you agree all these models I love are very bad ass like no other in the world..No wonder USA is the best in all the world even in motorcycle styling. All the best Jon Bro.👍
I had a 73 Superglide in the mid eighties and now have a 09 Superglide, my favorite do all Harley. Fun video Bro.
Oklahoma! I knew it was somewhere out there. Lol. Your dyna was on another level!
Love my 01 fxd super
I just put a fuel moto 110” street outlaw kit on my 2011 street bob, it is fast as hell now. Haven’t raced any sport bikes but I don’t think they’d be running away too fast on me
I agree with most of what you said for sure I bought my 07 dyna wide glide for 6800 ...and was happy af to get that kind of deal I have stage 1 and am pleased where I'm at with power as for the wobble it's about upkeep on the bushings and neck bearings and the tires slash tire pressure I wouldn't trade mine
What tire pressure do you run?
Just bought my first street bike at 59 years old and went with a 2000 Dyna wide glide. As soon a I saw it I knew it was the one I wanted. After watching videos of the infamous death wobble I decided to go over everything to prevent it if possible. Changed motor mounts, checked wheel bearings, etc. One thing never mentioned is what speed it happens at?
If you want a bike with a terrible death wobble, get a first generation v-max.
Wish it were a couple hundred lighter, but what the heck .....1500 cc . ....
Honestly this is the best pros and cons about a dyna ! Hit every point. Love my fxwg 02 the “last last chopper “
I’ve been looking up info on Dynas. All the people that make videos are super fans of Dynas. So it’s nice to get a different perspective. Thanks !
The newer bigger dyna's can be served as a touring bike. With the right bags and windows u can easy be out in the open for a week or so. No problems
I bought one. I love it, I can see what you are saying and it checks out, I have a blast everytime I ride it though.
The one thing i truly hate about the dyna is ... not having the money to own one.
lol
I bought a 98 Dyna Convertible, best bike I ever owned. Put 100,000 miles on it before it was stolen. Rode all over North America, from Mexico to Canada. Never let me down on the road once. Road to Sturgis in '99, 110 mph all day long, boots up on highway pegs, the road racing underneath my boots. Thunderheader exhaust, sound was perfect. Loved that bike! Never head a wobble, bike was rock solid and I rode it like I stole it. Maybe your steering head bearings not right.
That thing sounds amazing.
Sounds like a BEAST!
Tour link solved the wobble and improved handling confidence on my Road King
@@harrywragg9883
Imagine that, a Britbike being superbike of the year in the UK...
That bike vibrates so much I can hear it in your voice
Hahaha!
I have a Dyna. I bought it because it was a 100th Anniversary bike. It's fun to ride, and I sure don't hate it. The really funny part is, I have a Yamaha Roadliner, which is much more comfortable and out performs the H-D. I'm not a brand loyalist.
I’ve been looking at getting a super glide. It will be my first cruiser. Coming over from my gsxr 750
Hey man if you're happy with the bike you didn't pay too much
2017 low rider s 110 Ci haven’t a had a single issue since I bought it 3 years ago and I ride a lot!
I love my 08 Dyna w/ SnS motor.
I also have a '73 shovel head.
Really love my Dyna.
I've had my Fat Bob six years. Other bikes have come and gone through my garage, I own two Harleys and a Kawasaki right now, but I'm never selling this Dyna
Nice overview!
What I hate most is the poor suspension...
Other than that I do like my wide glide ❤
Honestly I do want a 104 lowrider but if i'm paying up I want the 6 speed so I can endlessly cruise the parkways and not be afraid of not having enough power between the knees
Its in the frame, it can't be fixed. Its for cruising not canyon carving. It was on the FL's too, but was fixed with the square tube and triangle tube rear swing arms.
I got a dyna and a 1200 Sportster..
Love them both
I agree with you. I paid 8k for my 2011 superglide with under 5k miles. I’ve spent a few grand already in upgrades and definitely not done. Overall, This is definitely one of my favorite bikes I’ve ever owned.
I got a BBC rear mount now it doesn’t have any wobble. You can max it out on a turn. No problem.
im no expert, but im pretty sure the speed wobbles are due to the dual rear springs. most motorcycles have one rear spring, so if it is bouncing up and down its gojng to do it straight. but with the dual rear springs, you can probably have them oscillating when its bouncing around. that would cause the rear end to wobble a bit. and if you have that happen with the right frequency, it could amplify itself. thats my theory at least. i would think they would make some way to make them act as one unit, which would probably eliminate the risk
8:15 that bagger is horrendous! He's gonna crash riding like that!
what about FXDX DYNA SUPER GLIDE SPORT 1999 ? It is a good bike to buy ?
I'd never buy a Dyna simply because the new Softail frame is sooo much better. The Softail LowRider S even has decent brakes and suspension stock.
The softails are pretty nice, no doubt about it.
They switched the frames after 2009 so anything after 2010 should be good with the death wobble #1 thing is make sure your psi tire pressure is perfect
Really? Ok that would explain my surprise when I hear it brought up. Been up to 120 many times on my 2012 and smooth as could be. Nice to know.
Danny I have a 2012 as well, freaking love it!!! No probs whatsoever
I have a 2012 bought used with 10k miles. I get the wobble around 90-100 and it’s so annoying.. any advice?
I agree the dyna wobbles suck ass and have almost taken me out a few times but I just hang on and when in doubt throttle out....good suspension and steering stabilizer and better motor mounts cleared that up made my own front motor mount and works a hell of alot better then any on the market
That frontside tuck knee over the hip was clean💯
Nothing sux but this video bro one best ever
the only that sucks is that they arent as good as the FXR they replaced. I have both. FXR handles far better.
Wow I'd love to sell you something! I bought an '03 Super Glide with 9000 miles on it for 5 Grand... not a scratch on it and I still had all the silly stickers and decals on the frame and gas tank
(Sweden)Got my dyna super glide about 2 months ago used.
Love 99% of it (the other 1% im working on fixing)
What i don't like about it?
Just bought an 05 Super Glide Custom with 16k miles. Freakin beautiful bike and paid 9 grand too
The one thing I hate about the dyna is that everyone that has a dyna frame calls there bike a dyna.
I’m looking to buy I have an 883 that I paid off so I’m gonna keep it but prices for dynas where I live aren’t that high either 🤷🏽♂️
