The Thai Constellation used to be super expensive. I’ve seen them as low as $60. Albos… I haven’t seen them around. I purchased my Albo in 2021 and it was actually a cutting. It was big enough to give my daughter the top cut. I think I got a great deal on it at the time. Paid $225 and I got two plants so I was happy…and she gives me half moons.
I’m not familiar with the Hoyas you purchased but they are beautiful! I got a cutting from a friend of a Hoya Finlaysonii and stuck in semi hydro to root. It died! I don’t know if the weight of the pon was too much for the roots or what but I had even thrown in some perlite for good measure. I don’t know…I am embarrassed to ask my friend for another cutting.
There are sellers on Etsy that list the exact plant you’re buying so I definitely prefer buying from those shops. I have been very disappointed with the plant pictured as compared to the plant I received so I started searching more in depth. I hope your seller works with you regarding your purchase.
I knew I remembered seeing the Thai con a lot more pricey! The one I received was around $60 as well which I thought was abnormally low. I am not touching my Hoya due to past transfer trauma lol as long as I don’t see any fungus gnats, they will stay in soil. 😅
@@aprilbrooks Jyst went to my favorite Mom & Pop nursery with my daughter and he had some beautiful Albos and Aureas. Albos were $250 with about 5-6 with beautifully balanced leaves.

My thai constellation is in pon and loves it. I was super scared about root rot, so not gonna lie, I top watered it for about 4 months before adding the reservoir, but it's been on a reservoir for about 5 months now and is exploding with growth. No rot issues.
Definitely switching mine soon 👀
For Hoya blooms, I’ve been told that they need a good drop in temperature overnight
Got a bunch of peduncles about to bloom now I’m so excited! But the temp drop thing is very interesting loo

I literally bought my first Hoyas yesterday from a local Facebook group buddy. And today I ordered some from TikTok Shop. Hoya bug is def biting.
I haven’t bought anything from tik tok shop yet, but now that I’m aware they have plants on there I might have to bite the bullet 😆
