I literally watched this one time and was able to get everything working to record my guitar in Pro Tools. Didn't even have to have Pro Tools open at the same time and work alongside. That's how simple and easy it was to keep up with. Thanks for the help man
Wayne, dude!!! You nailed it! "Cancel this dashboard...." That's the big secret. If you want your interface to work as an input device, you have to select it first as your OUTPUT device. You're the ONLY one to make that clear. Been struggling for 2 weeks with my Protools. These guys are nuts, how can they be so unintuitive when it comes to asigning an input device?? Had no trouble with Reaper or Cubase, but I wanted to start using Protools. Stereo Input, my ass. I use an Alesis Multimix 16 USB2.0 But I managed to make it work following your simple but direct steps. Made my day. Thanx friend, you're a life saver.
stay with reaper theres a lot of reason its better than protools fr protools crashes has problems etc im just using it rn because i need plug ins sadge

So as you advised in this video "you wanna down load any software from the interface website" I did and now I am up and running. MY MAN!!!!! LETS GOOOOO!!!! HA HA!

1:55 I have a RODE AI-1 Audio Interface but its not giving me the option to change playback engine, its greyed out and says “ Windows Audio Device”. I downloaded the interface most recent drivers too. (the interface is working outside of pro tools fine) just can’t change Playback Engine.

I got my microphone hooked up the microphones powered and is working and proTools is receiving the signal from the microphone recording right. I changed my iO settings to play back through the mixer The inputs and outputs are correct but still no sound is coming through my speakers I can hear the microphone through the speakers but I cannot hear the actual recordings or instrumental. Do you have any idea what I need to do to fix it.

When I go to play back engine and try to put it on volt ( it say selecting this playback engine will automatically…….. and pressed ok after I done that I have no control the screen freeze
I’ve recently ran into a huge problem with my id14. It’s been awhile since I’ve ran pro tools but that’s not the issue, the issue is that when I change the sample rate in pro tools to the same as my interface 1024 samples, my interface automatically set it to 32 samples, how can I get it to stay the same as in pro tools. If you have a valid email I can send you a video of how it changes on its own while running pro tools
