Please show Mapperton’s Educational classroom feeds in a series. Have Luke’s Mom host the series. She has the most “History Teacher” style. Love her segments.
Oh, yes - I second that suggestion! The Earl & Countess of Sandwich are absolutely fascinating and so charming as they explain their family history and home.
Loved the title. We Americans forget (or didn't know in some cases) that Britain had a Civil War of its own. Tell Martin it is absolutely fine to talk to the animals, it comforts them and the person speaking to them. (I talk to my 3 dogs and 1 cat all the time.) As long as they don't answer back, everything is fine.
Wonderful video!!!!! Incredible!!!!! Yes, it will help children and even adults to grow in their history by seeing it acted out! I grew up in Gettysburg, Pa and having the Battle of Gettysburg re-inacted over several days really helps put things in perspective! I had a history teacher in college that was amazing! You felt like you were really there in the history period he was teaching! It was amazing! For adults, how many of us would rather watch a movie/documentary instead of reading about the history?!!! Wonderful job Julie!!!! Yes, you have a lot to remember! I worked in banquet catering for a few years and I always had to 'see' an example table pre-set so I could always go back to verify mine with!!! Luke, you're too hard on her! She tried and did her best! 😊 Set the table for various options, take pictures of them and then, you'll have them to refer back to! Great job Julie!!! Thank you for sharing!!!!!!!
What a great idea to personalize the Civil War and present the effects on the Montagu family and Mapperton. It seems this may the first in a series? What a great opportunity for the students and perhaps their families to visit. Edward looks so very young in the portrait you featured. I learned a lot about English history and added to my knowledge of American colonial history when I discovered .my ancestry. What a surprise that was! My family were Quakers from Marridge Hill, Wiltshire. Four of the children immigrated to large plots of land in Pennsylvania in 1683 on a ship with William Penn. Also reading their yeoman farmer father's will online was incredibly moving. Perhaps ask the students to research their family history?
I love the idea of the live reenactments. My husband and I have been involved with Renaissance type of events for over 15 years. This something we really get into. Will your live reenactments be another part of your mapperton life or will it be a separate channel? Want to see more.
I'm sorry I need to be so dense. But would it be Wednesday at what time for Michigan and the United States I understand there's a delay because it's England and we're like I believe 10 hours apart but I was a little confused on the time.
When I lived in Georgia, USA, we took school field trips to our Civil War Battlefields, Indian Burial Grounds and dug for Fossils constantly. It was great fun.
Love love love your Sunday night broadcasts. You guys are hilarious and so in sync with each others humour 🤣. I always enjoy the history told! Well done!
My education in setting a table came from working as a waitress in a private country club - certainly not from home😉 Many years later I returned to the same club for a Christmas celebration for my husband’s work. Imagine the dozens of linemen sat absolutely baffled by the amount of silverware and glasses before them - poor guys. The best way I could explain is you work your way toward the plate/bowl by using the outer utensils first and the glasses sort themselves out as they’re filled (water, white, red). At home I ignore such rules unless it’s a very special occasion- I don’t have the patience to set and then have to clean the excessive amounts of silver and glassware daily. But it’s good to know how a proper table is set in case one finds themselves sat at a posh event and doesn’t want to feel uncomfortable.
Awesome idea !!! I've been acting in historical reenactments in California since 1988. My guild portrays the court of Queen Elizabeth I - my daughter portrays the queen. The kids love meeting the queen and we do alot of education about Elizabethan England. The kids will adore your historical live streams. Huzzah !!!
The history project is fantastic!!!! Wonderful way to bring history to life for kids and adults!! Setting the table for dinner is a lot of fun! Percy looks like a very happy tortoise!! Love from Vermont
1What a fantastic school project. At least they allow you to portray your history accurately rather than erasing and rewriting history to suit the whims of political agendas. Julie, at the base level, one needs to sit down and eat; having the utensils at hand to accomplish that efficiently is essential. You set the table in an American fashion. As you reside in the UK and have married into a family with a specific formula for setting the table for the evening meal, you have to "understand"; however, I am sure you would be encouraged to put your own "spin" on it. ;D Frankly, I'd take pictures to document their preferred setting so you can refer to it as needed, less headaches. You all are doing an excellent job!
These just keep getting better and better! Wonderful episode! I would have loved to see "live history" that is a great idea and I hope it catches on everywhere
I think the concept of live history lessons will connect to heritage because it’s modern and traditional. Kids in schools should appreciate security more and understand how good people talk about conflict in a peace bringing way. I’m fed up with the disruptions in classroom learning, it’s not possible to build a better Britain without innovation like this. Cool project, it’s incredibly entertaining and I’m not going to use the word “remarkable” because it’s been overused, but I guess it is.
I thought you lIved at Mapperton full time with your kids. I had no idea they were at boarding school and you split your time between London and Mapperton. I couldn't stay away if, it belonged to me and letting my kids roam free would be a dream.
I loved this episode. You had comedy (table settings), animal conservation (tortoise), and educational (mushroom). Can Luke be more enticing. He is not only good looking (HOT), but smart too. Lucky Julie
Does anybody else hear that loud whisper in the background at 4:35 after Luke asks if there's going to be blood and guts???? That place is haunted for sure!
How is it possible that Julie doesn’t know how to set a table after living in Mapperton all these years ??? I love you Julie but please just step back and let your husband teach you how to set the place settings 😂😂😂
Probably most of the dinner parties are more casual now than what they used to be, so the setup is much different. Even lord Luke Montagu has to remember the time of his Grandfather's in trying to re-enact the setting.

Was it my imagination that Luke resembles the 1st Earl? Always fun to see what is happening at Mapperton
Love the school project and the opportunities to bring history to life.
its game changing

Hello Mr. Luke and Ms. Julie 👋🏽 from California🌞
I so enjoy watching these videos and thanks for sharing all the on goings at Mapperton🏰
Great idea about programs for students and schools!
Hello from Missouri USA
These just keep getting better and better! Wonderful episode! I would have loved to see "live history" that is a great idea and I hope it catches on everywhere
You could start a series where you talk about history/British history using Mapperton as the backdrop. People would like it.
A great idea to introduce school curriculum and real life heritage…. Good luck Mapperton team!

Please copy it! Great ideas need to be shared 👏🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
Wonderful family
The reenactment for schools is spectacular! It's hands-on so to speak. I wonder if we (USA) are doing this anywhere? 🤔
What a brilliant idea! 👏🏻👏🏻
Wow. This is such an impressive idea!
Julie you're like a little cartoon 🤣🤣
YES BUT IN THE GREATEST WAY POSSIBLE HILARIOUS AS HECK. LOVE HER SINCE THE REAL HOUSEWIVES

😳 I think I would be totally confused in place settings.
Who knew that England had a civil war!!!
Does anybody else hear that loud whisper in the background at 4:35 after Luke asks if there's going to be blood and guts???? That place is haunted for sure!
Funny you should mention that... wait until you see our Halloween special on the 31st...

Was wondering the same thing 🤔

That’s you on CNN tonight ! ❤️
We are really enjoying the Diana series on CNN Sunday night ,you gave some great commentary thank you ❤️
Can't wait😃
Julie, your husband is kind of a hottie!
That’s an eye grabbing title. Between who?
English Civil war between the royalist Charles 1st and the parliamentarians Oliver Cromwell
👍!💋
Tortoises don’t have teeth so can’t bite.
They certainly can bite, as one of our visitors discovered 😀
