Thanks for walk through I didn't think it would be too difficult.. but in the past walk through I watched the guy just swapped the existing ram card out with another one leaving one port untouched and me wondering if the Nitro really was meant to have two cards in side or just one. Your video clarified that and did a good job talking about ram type upgrades in general. Also I appreciate that you even pulled the screws out if even in fast speed where the other guy just says - "As you can see I already pulled them out." (Which I didn't find exactly enlightening.) I suppose you could have mentioned that normal stuff about making sure the power is off and you do not have any static electricity before you touch anything or about using a plastic spatula / pick to pry the case open with first. All that would just assume of course its the viewers first rodeo. - Thanks for sharing the time and effort with us on this.
@Joozeey still using 8gb ram at the moment, you can edit your fps using nvidia control panel, just edit whisper mode up to 120 fps, but streaming wise, 16gb is a go to, imma upgrade to 16gb ram 😂
@Full Stop Really depends, but assuming you will use discord on the background when playing with friends, you at the least want 16gb, things run better if you have nothing opened besides the game on 8Gb, 16gb is usually what you want, 32gb if you have the money and want to be able to multitask easier and smoother
Crucial Ballistix memory runs great in everything. I've wasted so much time with other manufacturers and bad memory that I'm glad videos like this demonstrate a cheap and easy way to buy back some peace. I doubled up my desktop with another 2x16GB kit yesterday and I'm now at 64GB. As to whether you'll use 32GB entirely, depending on what apps you use going into next year, the likelihood is quite high. I had to move up just because of gaming development and rendering. I'm not sure what you do but judging from your desktop icons and taskbar, you should be fine.
I hope by "gaming development" you literally mean developing games, and not just games needing more RAM to run these days. 'Cause it'll probably be another decade or so before you need 64GB of RAM to run any game.
It's both. A few days after posting this I finally broke the 32GB commit barrier and I use upwards of 46GB without my developer tools running. There are some really leaky games out there and I just happen to be working on making assets and worlds for one.

I have a nitro 515-45 5600h 3060 just bought from Costco, good price but the catch was only 8gb (2x4gb 3200) ram. I am looking at 2x8gb 3200 ballistix which is great because it has cl16. The problem I have is to do with the voltage. Ballistix being 1.35v as apposed to the standard 1.2v. I understand this ram is meant for xmp platforms for overclocking which my device does not support. I've read some places that doesn't therefore recommend but I don't fully understand all this so was hoping you could shed some light on the compatibility/safety. Hello Thank for your support I appreciate it! I would try to stick with the same volt as what’s in there already. You don’t want to draw more power than necessary. When it comes to hrz you can run slightly higher and it doesn’t make much difference mine is standard at 2667 but I’ve got the 3200 but it only runs at 2667. I hope this helped

I just finished a live chat with a person at crucial and they said it would be fine to put 1.35v ram in the nitro 5 even though it's not a platform with xmp. I asked so if my system doesn't use the 1.35 to overclock, does the 1.35 ram downgrade to 1.2v they said no but I couldn't get a straight answer as to why it was then safe. I'm not sure if I've misunderstood something or they are just not being clear. Is the ballistix ram you Installed in your nitro1.35v and if so, has there been any issues, thank you for your time!

little advice, max ram speed supported by Nitro 5 is 2933mhz, so anything avobe that will be wasted cause the device isn't capable of using more than 2933

@@ZAMANEGAMING no your right I do have the 3200 MHz but the laptop can only run up to 2667 MHz so there’s no point going higher I just went with the 3200 MHz because I got a good deal on them.
I’m glad it’s helped. You can’t replace the internal graphics card unfortunately you can technically run a external graphics card but you’d need a case for it and cables ect

fyi its running at 2667 not 3200 because that's all the motherboard is good for. When they build the laptops they get deals on ram so theyll throw whatever in and the mobo will downclock it. NO big tho. Still good choice.

i came to this video hoping it to be a technical installation but you just did the plug and play swap! basically you have upgraded the capacity (8gb to 32gb) but you're not getting the said speed of 3200mhz because for that you have to turn on the xmp profile via bios, that is where i had the red flag raised for me, the moment i turn the xmp on my computer freezes which is odd as i did all the math before buying this pair of ballistix ram and on the crucial official website they were a 100% compatible with my laptop which is msi raider ge75 with 9th gen intel core i7 processor. I am leaving this post in hope as somebody with the solution reads it and maybe enlighten me to do it the right way.
4:40 that is just not a correct way to go about it, windows will lower the ram usage if you have less ram, for example, if your system only has 4gb it will still run windows 10

Hey bro it's me again. Do you recommend undervolting this laptop?my temperature is climbing up to 90° even though I'm using a coolin pad. And I already got my 32gb of ram and got some extra 500 gb of ssd with 144hz monitor but still I'm gettin low fps in warzone. I'm gettin like 40 fps when theres an enemy and the minimum fps is 60 if I'm just standin still and that's all in low settings
I think if you undervolt the laptop the performance may drop even more. My temp usually sits at about 90 too The problem with warzone is that’s it’s not a great game to run in general there’s other games i have that run in the 100s FPS no problem with higher graphics ect
Hello The extra ram won’t make your laptop hotter or cooler they themselves only uses a couple watts of power. It’s really only the gpu and cpu that cause heat in a laptop.
I have the acer nitro AN515-55-53E5 and I bought an Acer 16 gb 32000MHz ram to upgrade the laptop to 16gb instead of 8gb, do I have to put two of these same components into the 2 slots or can I just leave in the original 8 gb and put the 16gb in the other slot?

hi, crucial ballstick is actually 3200 Mhz RAM with XMP on. Do u know how to enable XMP in Asus laptop. There is no such option in BIOS. Right now it is running at 2667 Mhz
Some are limited to 2667 like mine is yours might be too. You can check if you open your task manger and look at performance and then memory it should display what MHz you have

The max MHZ your laptop can run is 2666 so no point going over that

i just upgraded my nitro5 storage m.2 with 1tb and got 32gb what ill be using it for is audio spectroscopy but i will be doing some heavy gaming

Ram does help towards performance the 16 ram will be better than the 8

The max this model can run is 2667 MHz I have the 3200mhz but it’s limited to the 2667

The old ram was 2667mhz the new is 3200 but only runs up to 2667mhz

Hey bro it's me again. Do you recommend undervolting this laptop?my temperature is climbing up to 90° even though I'm using a coolin pad. And I already got my 32gb of ram and got some extra 500 gb of ssd with 144hz monitor but still I'm gettin low fps in warzone. I'm gettin like 40 fps when theres an enemy and the minimum fps is 60 if I'm just standin still and that's all in low settings
I think if you undervolt the laptop the performance may drop even more.
My temp usually sits at about 90 too
The problem with warzone is that’s it’s not a great game to run in general there’s other games i have that run in the 100s FPS no problem with higher graphics ect

The extra ram won’t make your laptop hotter or cooler they themselves only uses a couple watts of power.
It’s really only the gpu and cpu that cause heat in a laptop.

hi, crucial ballstick is actually 3200 Mhz RAM with XMP on. Do u know how to enable XMP in Asus laptop. There is no such option in BIOS. Right now it is running at 2667 Mhz
Some are limited to 2667 like mine is yours might be too.
You can check if you open your task manger and look at performance and then memory it should display what MHz you have

I’d go 32gb if it’s not much more expensive. If you have higher mhz ram it won’t hurt the laptop will run the MHz that it’s rated for.
