Was just thinking earlier it’d been a while since the last parkrun. Click on TH-cam as I’m sitting down to eat and this is top of the feed. Historical moment
I did this one in 2022 when girlfriend was doing London marathon the next day. I'd forgotten the hills. We had the bonus of street drinkers shouting "encouragement" from park benches. It was a splendid day. Well ran, another enjoyable video.
Great to see you back, i was wondering the other day when the next vid was gonna come out hehe What about Richmond park run? Its a 1 lap course with first stretch downhill, a little flat section in the middle and then an uphill back to where you started. Should be a good one!
I grew up round this park and did London mini marathon training here back in 96. No ParkRun back then I don't think. My local is nice and flat these days.... oh and come on you Arsenal 😉
I wonder if you are considering trying to tackle the beacon hill parkrun in the future, I heard it has like 150m of elevation gain which makes it like super brutal
Did Finsbury last October on a weekend in London. It absolutely chucked it down at the start. Agree that hill is a killer. Glad there wasn't a funfair there that day 😂
How can I get to sub 20 5k? Is more either: (A) more zone 2 important; (B) More 1km repeats/500m repeats etc. if so how many, how much faster than 5k pace?; or (C) longer tempo (i.e. 5-10k or longer?); also what is your mileage for the week? Any response would be hugely appreciated!! :) P.S: for context my current 5k is 21:20, I have done 21:20-21:40 about 7x in the last 2-3 months. I currently do 30k zone 2, about 6x 30 seconds fast sprints, 2x hill sprints, 1x1km at 17km/h, 1x0.5km at 19km/h and 1x 5k tempo (zone 3: 140-165HR, i.e. 2.5k at 140-145HR, 1.5k at 150-155 HR and 1k at 160-165HR).
I'm usually 70K ISH a week. Id work on some steady runs once or twice a week. Helped me massively if you're nailing 1k intervals but still struggling to go sub 20!
@@CrownMyRun Thanks mate, I have just increased my tempo runs (longer steady) and already feel better, cheers, I have a huge feeling my 5k/10k and HM times will improve massively!!
Bloody hell, you're grumpy. My localish one at Belvoir Castle (pronounced Beaver 😊) 700th odd slowest, has 280 ft elevation with a merciless hill at the end and the barstad runs long as well 😂😂
Good Running as ever. If you are ever up in the midlands give me a shout. We must do a collab! Be aware though you will do 10k in the time i do a 5K - now theres a challenge!
Request a London Parkrun I attend - Most likes in the comments will be the next one I go to!
Mile End parkrun, my home one for me and my brother!! It's quite steep bro!! Good luck!!
I would dearly love to see the Mills fellas take on Durlston Country Park, that's a truly hilly parkrun!
Hampstead Heath is nice and flat, you should try that next. :)
Gonna thumbs this up just because J Mills didn't pick my suggestion last week 😈.
😂😂😂 Sorry!

😂😂😂 Enjoy!!

😂😂 Yes, there were a few of those drinkers around this weekend too before the start of the run
@@CrownMyRun could have swagged some liquid carbs to help on that always tricky 4th KM.
Try hilly fields parkrun, would love to see you try my tough childhood course, and the course description is in the name! 😂
Fun one too.
would love to see that!
Sounds like all the fun in the world 😂😂
yes please 🤣🤣🤣
I just ran 20 minutes without stopping for the first time! Just a couple of weeks from completing couch to 5k these videos really help

Back for good!
Great to have you back, these videos top notch video. Look forward to the next :)
Sutcliffe Parkrun is a great course with no hills but if you want hills, definitely Lullingstone, beautiful but brutal
Episode VI: return of the Crown 😂❤
Great to see you back, i was wondering the other day when the next vid was gonna come out hehe

Thank god your back!
My vote is for you to try Hearn hill parkrun (Brockwell park). Brutal
Clapham parkrun!
Great Yarmouth. You will love that sand….
I'm sure they'll be no complaints 😂😂
PARKRUN ❤️❤️❤️
Next time you are in Scotland you need to try Falkirk Park Run, we have the orginial Heartbreak Hill!
Will do, thanks!
I grew up round this park and did London mini marathon training here back in 96. No ParkRun back then I don't think. My local is nice and flat these days.... oh and come on you Arsenal 😉
I did feel a sense of not being wanted in that park 😂😂
You need to do the Thames Path Woolwich! The Walnut Whip is Great!
Diabolical that you haven’t done Bevendean Down yet 👀
👀👀
I wonder if you are considering trying to tackle the beacon hill parkrun in the future, I heard it has like 150m of elevation gain which makes it like super brutal
I'll get it done at some point!
Keith Orange Top, The Peoples Champion
😡😡
Gutted to have missed out on racing you. Was doing a slow run at Finsbury 😭.
Sorry mate, next time!
Did Finsbury last October on a weekend in London. It absolutely chucked it down at the start. Agree that hill is a killer. Glad there wasn't a funfair there that day 😂
I shall have to return post funfair 😂
Saw the Curly Wurly Parkrun in Bristol. Looks insane! People everywhere
There's a curly wurly in London too! Thames Path Woolwich - nice view from the top as well.
I'm keen for that one soon!
Hey Jody, have you tried Bedgebury Pinetum Park Run ? lovely course through the woods and nice n flat....... there again I could be lying ! 🤣🤣
Been looking at that one to get to when I'm down in Eastbourne!
oh my gosh Finsbury parkrun is a proper toughie. Now try Gladstone 😱 - actually don't! 🤣
If you head back to North London, do Lordship if you want flat, or Ally Pally if you want hilly. I'd be happy to pace you!
Cheers mate!
Great video, this is actually my local park run. How do you get the stats up on the side? Is it linked to watch/an app?
Cheers mate! Yeah, the software on the insta360 camera I use lets me import my Garmin data really easily!
😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
This week should go to bushy park for 1000th park run milestone
Yeah, D Mills said but unfortunately I'm up in Manchester!

i missed that : D
yep my local parkrun regularly comes out as 5.2k on my strava and boy am I grumpy about it.
😂😂😂

How do you display your speed and heart rate on screen?
Insta360 cameras let you pull in your Garmin watch data
I was staying in Finsbury Park last Saturday and was going to do that one but decided on Oak Hill instead. Finsbury Park looks better (less laps).
Yeah, 2 laps in my mind is manageable - anymore and it feels way harder!
please do highbury fields🙏 You won't regret it 😂
Finally
Awful awful 3 weeks
Never again
More North London please! Ally Pally, Pymmes, Lordship, Oak Hill, Grove lands - take your pick, I'd even accept Highbury 😂
I'll get them all done in the next few years haha!
Definitely not a hill, you come to Yorkshire I we will show you a hill
Good Running as ever.
