    Watching these videos have been a delightful part of my daily routine now. Big kudos to Francis and Justin but also everyone who's helped with this trip, from the donators to the kind strangers! Happy Thanksgiving everyone 🙏

    What an inspiration Justin is to all cyclists to not let anything stop you from riding. All the best!

    Great tour of the hand bike. Did Rob even break a sweat? Damn, that boy can handle his heat. 🤠

      Amazingly no he didn’t which didn’t make sense because he sweats when he eats curry 🤪

    Don’t know how you’re still in one piece after so many days in that hand bike, Justin. You sound and look a lot better now, keep up the magnificent effort. The videos of you both are pure inspiration. 👏👏👏👏

    “McGyver the shit out of the situation”. Richard Dean Anderson would be proud. Now all you need is some gum, a piece of string and a bottle cap and you can make a whole new hand bike!😂🤣

    Great video - the candor is appreciated, Justin. By the time the two of you have completed the objective, you will be able to write and produce a treatise on hand bike product development from the rider & riding/support partner perspective. What an opportunity to inform and improve the equipment for kids with Get Kids Going as a basis. I salute you both. #respect #whatajourney. 🙌🙏👏

    Far less visible pain than I expected from the one chip challenge. Wouldn't mind an update as to whether the pain does arrive the day after per the earlier advice ha.
    Keep on rolling lads!

    That is both an awesome bit of kit but yes, completely the wrong bit of kit for the job. Kudos Justin for taking this on with that machine! Well done Rob, You made a lot of people happy they didn't have to eat the chip.

    Thanks for the Carbide bike check. The 'ol 650c, yeah, I can see why you have some disdain for this bike nowadays, and because we haven't seen you cross one in any video I would not have thought about speed bumps and that clearance. Now I want to see the bike he was going to have built for this trip, haha. Post-ride bike check request please!
    Also looks like a good time was had for the yankee thanksgiving. Hope it was the respite you needed/wanted. We're thankful to you and your sharing of your adventure. ❤

      I had a similar thought "how would you change Justin's bike to make it more suited for touring" but I think the way you said it is better. Seeing the bike that Justin was hoping to use would be great. I've had a sneaking suspicion that Justin's ability to see on that bike is terrible.

    Oh snap, a new video today! I thought we'd have an off day so you could focus on resting, but you guys look like you are feeling pretty well! Great video. So nice that you guys got to relax and have fun with friends. Rob's family is darling, and Rob is a star on camera! Gonna miss his appearances once you are back on the road. Way to take one for the cause, Rob :).
    I had thought you might contact Madiline for advice on how to best protect Justin's shell from any further deterioration from the damage it's gotten, but something tells me they might not take your call.
    It was nice to get a little flash of Francis' video production chops today. The story has been the star of the show most of this trip, but that segment between :14 and :30 was extra pro :) Many easter eggs in today's video for people that have been keeping up with the comments 👍.
    I'd guess you are on the road again today (Friday). Try to avoid any large retails businesses :)

    Happy holiday guys! Your videos are fun to watch!
    It's very surprising you get so many punctures during the trip, if you're on Conti-s.
    True, I'm a skinny one, but for like 12 years of using the tires, I only had 3 punctures. All ending with a big "kabooom" :D. None of so called slow punctures or bulges on a sidewall. Killer-lasting ones, must say!

    Loving these daily videos, I'm along for the adventure with you guys. How about popping into a hardware store for a protective mask of some sorts for Justin to wear while riding for the next rain/downpour. Might help prevent any further bugs..? Just an idea Francis. Keep up the good work 🚴🚴🤜

  • @HarryFunmaker
    @HarryFunmaker ปีที่แล้ว

    Thanks for detailing his setup. I suppose a race bike isn't ideal for touring, both for hand bikes and foot bikes. I took a look at some hand bikes earlier on in your trip and they definitely aren't cheap. Understandable that adjustments had to be made to the bike he already had.

  • @markl2815

    Good to get a closer look at Justins bike.... Kinda as I expected it was a pure race bike and really not fit for a trip like this at all. If it's that low slung how have you got this far? Everything I've heard of American "bike lanes" and infrastructure(confirmed in the vids) is that they are just dumping grounds for sh*te from cars and trucks..... (Maybe the carbon schmarbon approach to "fast touring" on both rigs wasn't so wise- recommended bedtime reading "The Tortoise and the Hare" by Aesop lol)....But best of luck and stay safe lads, I'm sure if you'd done it on appropriate kit this would be very predictably uneventful!!!!!😂

  • @mrpokeit

    I wonder if it's possible for Justin's hand bike rear wheels to be quick release and the right size for his chair. Then he can swap them out at the end of the day when bike packing? One less set to carry?

    • @Cade_Media
      @Cade_Media  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      No it’s just unstable, a combination of too much weight, high centre of gravity (wheelchair wheels on top) and exceeding the speed limit of the trailer (15mph).
