You should get Outer Planets Mod @MattLowne. It adds 3 gas giants, and a Pluto System analogue. Analogues for Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune are included in the mod. It adds several destinations to explore on your various missions.
Matt, you missed an exciting feature! right click while holding the left alt can grab things inside the ship like coffee mugs and the extinguisher. The extinguisher can push you backward when holding the left mouse button.
FreeIVA even simulates the coriolis effect in gravity rings. When you jump straight up you drift sightly spin-wards. The distance depends on the size and speed of the ring. I love that so much.
To make IVAs even better, you should get DE-iva extendor. Adds clickable buttons, and with rasterpropmonitor, adds screens that you can use to control your spacecraft. I honestly can't live without these mods, since now you can shut the hud off, and fly your rockets from the cockpit.
If you look closely to the ring parts they actually have a smaller counter-rotating ballast spinning already. Real neat way to not have to bother about implementing the torque on the rest of a craft
HE FINALLY USED FREEIVA I'M SO PROUD, now all you need is to download the Near Future mod set and Outer Planets mod and your conversion to never being able to go back to vanilla will be complete

@@sushilsingh8996 Not updated =/= dead. Dead is a game that has little to no community or is technically dead i.e. servers are gone. It's neither of those things for KSP. KSP2 is dead. Basically no community support, no mods etc. The one and only true KSP is very much alive. The game may have reached the end of its development cycle, but the community is still going strong and modders keep pumping out new content.
FINALLY you downloaded FreeIVA, another cool thing about the mod is that when you enter bakc in the station after an Eva, it automatically puts you in FreeIVA and I front of that specific hatch
Fun fact: the reason there is a gym on that gravity ring is because isn't at full kerbin/earth gravity! If you look at the rings information in he VAB, it says it only produces 0.5G (probably for better structurally integerity and less motion sickness from a lower rotation speed). 0.5G is enough to reduces to effects of low gravity but you will still definitely face issues. thus the gym would hopefully fix everything.
Free IVA is great ❤ The process of right-clicking a vessel and using a menu to teleport your kerbal to different modules around your craft is quite immersion breaking. Free IVA changes that entirely
If you look closely at the rotating habitat modules, there are already counter-rotating rings towards the inside of it. Presumably some super-dense material spinning at a higher speed than the habitat itself.
As i was watching this i was recording footage for a machinima KSP short film, mostly first person FreeIVA shots. FreeIVA provides great opportunities, maybe even horror films (so far i know of only 1).
Looking at your VAB footage you really gotta install hangar extender, with that you can build crafts of infinite size This might be far fetched but it would be really interesting if you tried herbalism with your currents mods, truly a game changing mod.
A small detail that many miss is that the rings themselves have built in contra-rotating counter weights so you can have only one ring and have no worries of needing to add another to counter it
Matt, if you loved freeiva you will LOVE Raster Prop Monitor. It adds fully functioning IVA controls to all the command pods with super customizable screens and a million different functional switches and buttons and dials, and it’s legitimately probably the most fun mod I’ve ever played with.
Hey, you kept doubting if live commentary was the right way to go and I have to say that it was. Your live commentary was great, I would love if you did more, it feels so much more authentic.

You should make a spreadsheet or smth with all the mods you used or used and so info abt them and maybe links to them so that we can have a better overview of them and easier install them.
Was curious about FreeIVA after adding in Restock+ and Stockalike. THIS. WAS. AWESOME. I'm quitting work and going home to install this and play forever
Hey, there's really cool feature what also included in FreeIVA, and that is possibility to create your own centrifuges! If you spin hard enough or propel your spacecraft, it will create artificial gravity too!
The fun starts to fizzle out after roughly 100 hours in the game, then it becomes a grind and Gaijin hopes you succumb to the sunk cost fallacy - "invested too much time into it to give up now". I played around 250 hours of WarThunder and the most joy the game has brought me is when I remember I haven't played it since 2021.
you can grab props like fire extinguishers and flashlights which do work. With the fire extinguishers you can use it to push yourself back and go flying across your station, I can say its VERY fun.
You should install a mod called stiffer joint or smth to help with protecting the big crafts from the kraken and you should install a mod called wolf or smth which adds more parts, resources and makes life support more realistic but it is a very complex mod with a lot of features and parts and it works together with other mods like the one in this video.
As the mod description says, gravity rings all feature a counter-rotating counterweight (which is actually animated too, if you look closely) so that they don't cause any torque. No need to use multiple counter-rotating ones
if you love iva, you might like the rasterpropmonitor mod, which adds dynamic displays and clicky buttons to cockpits. seeing you sliding down the slope is very enjoyable:)
The first gravity ring has 2 sets of 4 cabins, one with a work table, the other with a hydroponics garden. The other two compartments appear to be a gym and logistics store, and a ward room/kitchen/meeting area and server farm.
fun fact is that the aquaculture module isn't just for research but for some life support configs it actually adds a little boost to consumables production
you can see some parts (modules) are designed as a ground bases, there are coffee mugs all over the place, and others built for micro gravity environment
fun fact: reboosting or maneuvering an orbital station will exert a force oppisite of the forward side on every unbuckled kerbal inside, basically the same thing that happens to the astronauts on the ISS during a reboost.
Matt, right-clicking the station parts allows you to change the look of the connection between parts, this can make them look better connected and I do it every time. (espesially with the bare-white setting)
Amazing video, I'm loving the modded series! Maybe add Mk 2 and Mk 3 expansion by SuicidalInsanity? It is super useful for really fancy SSTOs and stuff.
Getting a rocket to orbit in IVA view could be fun. Especially if you have to travel to other modules to do different things, like docking or deploying parts
0:40 to me that feels kinda fitting, one looks more like a 1980's space UI, apollo and stuff Whilst the KSP2 one looks a lot more modern and fitting for like Artemis missions!

I was today years old when I learned about FreeIVA and I am instantly a huge fan. They should release “Kerbal 1.5” with a selection of the best mods built in.
Great video Matt! Apologies in advance, but I have to be the "Well, ackshually" guy. Given the size of the rotating arm, you would only be able to generate so much "gravity" without going at insane RPMs and causing Kerbins to puke from coriolis. They would certainly still suffer from muscle atrophy, but the microgravity would be more convenient than 0G.
I just watched MARTIAN(2015) and I’m chuffed, i feel like a genius because i could finally relate to a film. My head is giant! Each centrifuge has its own small bit that its whole point is to counteract the torque, so if you have a single centrifuge rotating it won't make your entire craft spin.

It actually goes up to .57, you can see it when you right click on the ring when it’s spinning
The IVA views are a good representation of how the spin rate is nuts and how massive a gravity ring you'd need to get a 1g spin!
