Just installed the updated Android 13 version in my Honda Accord 2015 yesterday. Works Great, and you made the installation easy with your videos! They fixed most of the problems from the previous version in this video. The provided microphone for calls seems to work fine now. The parking lines on the reverse camera are now on by default. The screen is not jittery like in this video. Audio delay on android auto is not existent as long as you watch the video on the car screen (not your phone). Also, the top screen is not as hidden as explained, it's pretty visible looking over the new unit. The only edit I would make is when running google maps, the directions are on the left side of the screen and the map is on the right. If there is an option to switch the UI around, I would be set. I believe this unit is made for right side drivers too, so there is an option to switch things around somewhere in the options. I'll investigate and post an update ASAP. Thank you for all of your help, couldn't have done this without your videos to help me!
1 Week Update: After about a week of investigating, I have found that there is an option to change the driver side from left to right but it only changes the layout of the Carplay apps and no option to change within google maps. The best workaround I have found is to use the split screen view while using maps along with Spotify making the left side of my display "google maps" and the right side "Spotify". This makes the google maps UI easier to follow making it closer to the driver. The directions are now at the bottom of the screen instead of covering the left side of the map, closest to the driver, making it more safe and easier to read. Other than that, I have found that the audio EQ settings need to be tweaked unless you like flat sounding music. I have discovered the "Rock" EQ preset to work the best. I only had to adjust the lows because their was slightly too much bass. Also under the DSP tab using the "Rock" preset, I tuned the bass slightly down on that. Everything sounds well balanced now, but honestly car sound is a personal preference so take my settings as a baseline. Overall, this unit is a huge upgrade from the factory radio with plenty of custom features I haven't even looked at yet.
Hi, my top screen went out and i have the buttons where your touch screen is. i was wondering if you know if i replace the button radio with a touch screen, will i have access to everything that was on the top screen?
Sounds like you have the original radio in the car. Might possibly need to replace the radio. I would disconnect the battery and reconnect to see if it resets anything. If that doesn’t work then you will want to replace the radio. If you want the top screen to work this radio will allow that. It just won’t be everything like the original.
Great review. 3 questions. 1. How tall is the lip up top since you mentioned that its preventing the clear view of the top display. 2. I have a V6EXL Coupe and the bottom panel where the Dasaita is installed is actually a touch screen in my car. I can change the way the camera the camera view looks on the top screen (angle and such) when in reverse via a button on the low touch screen. Is that somehow possible with the Dasaita? 3. Can I leave the top display on the trip view or will it reverse to the 00:00 every time you get into the car and start it. Basically do I have to manually set it to the trip screen again every time I get into the car?
1. I would say it’s about a inch. I can still see the screen but it cover about an inch from the bottom. 2. I’m not sure. 3. It will not reset the trip view. It only does it for the time.
Hey how are you? Do you have any issues with the radio like turn off by it self the little lights from the radio are bright but the screen it still dark
I would check the wiring to see if its loose in the back of the radio, but if you have had this less than a year it should be under warranty. The only issue we had with the radio so far has been the top screen stopped working one day and Dasaita sent us a new TFT Driver box after we diagnosed the box being bad.
The software need to upgrade bro.. Dasaita going to email you the software and you got to put it on a flash drive an plug it in the radio an update it@MobileCarMechanic
I purchased this unit after watching your review and installation videos, and I installed it yesterday. I love it, but I have no audio at all. My install was a little different from yours because I had a touch screen (2017 Accord EXL coupe). I ordered the appropriate model for that. Everything else works beautifully, but the audio. Any ideas?
I resolved this problem by disconnecting one of the cables -- a single blue cable. I found a thread on Dasaita's website where someone had a similar issue. It took me a long time to find. My G13 unit works beautifully with no delays or other issues. It's a major improvement over my car's OEM CarPlay.
I noticed your dashboard had a check charge system message, is that a result of the radio install or is something else causing it? also, you mentioned the vehicle settings not working for your car, so if you change them (door locks for example), nothing happens?
The check charging system light is on due to the alternator being a remanufactured component that’s not original Honda. It still charges. The additional options that I tried to demonstrate didn’t display any other options. Just stayed at the same setting.
@@MobileCarMechanicit’s crazy because I literally had this problem for so long after putting on an aftermarket alternator, took it everywhere and no one knew that I needed a genuine Honda alternator.
@@sleekcurlz We replaced the alternator with an aftermarket one as well which caused this issue. We ordered an original Honda one from a parts site which got damaged in shipping. We had to use an aftermarket one as it was their last one. It is not caused by the radio.
When you connect your phone via Bluetooth and use Waze on your phone will it automatically reflect on the screen for the set navigation? Are you required to be WiFi tethered to your phone for full functionality?
If you connect via Bluetooth and just use Bluetooth then it will only do audio. The hotspot would be needed if you want to use the android part of the radio for apps that require network connectivity. If you pair it via CarPlay or android auto it mirrors your screen in a sense and the internet connection is used from your phone without activating the hotspot.
I will need to play around with it to see if it makes a difference but I don’t think it has anything to do with gain but more volume from the head unit itself.
I’ve seen instances of delayed audio and such for CarPlay units resulting in the apple maps being also delayed, with the maps gradually falling further and further behind where your actual location is. Is this the case also for this unit?
Installed today and the reverse camera is not coming on automatically. I cannplug the camera into the av input and see it, but it wont detect it when its set up as it should be. Hopefully customer service helps me out.

Mine didn't work initially. There is a connector with a yellow wire that plugs into Bluetooth connector. The pin was in wrong place and I had to move it to correct slot. That corrected my problem. There is a thread on the Desaita forum. I have a 2013 Accord EX-L.
On the Imed screen it doesn't show any instant fuel data, but average fuel data works giving current and previous fuel on the same screen. Does anybody else have that problem?
Can you still use wired CarPlay? I really don’t mind the tethered CarPlay. Really considering purchasing this unit. I think the entertainment system is the only this I kinda wish car makers offered post sale upgrades to.
The specifications for the G12 unit states that only wireless is available for CarPlay, based off a forum post on Dasaita’s website indicates that the SOC from Qualcomm doesn’t support it for some reason. If I do find a work around I will post a video. Otherwise the vivid 11 that runs Android 11 and has 4GB RAM and 64GB storage will allow both wired and wireless.

If you have the right turn signal LaneWatch on your Honda Accord and can't get it to work there is a separate attachment. It will be an extra set of cables with labels like "GND" and "Front Camera." The "Front Camera" cable should be yellow and you will want to plug that cable into "BSM VIN." The extra cables will connect into the Dasaita head unit and should plug into the second from lower left pins (If you're looking at the tablet from the front screen." After plugging "Front Camera" and "BSM VIN" together, your LaneWatch right turn signal camera should work. Cheers.

The TFT driver that connects to the top screen is programmed and cant be changed. it appears that dasaita has different TFT drivers for different countries/measurements. You would need to contact Dasaita to see if they have a box that can display what you are asking as the box that came with the unit did the same thing until it failed and dasaita sent us a replacement which corrected the issue with both the screen not working and showing MPG values for the USA.
There are other brands like seicane and generic versions I’m sure. Not sure if it will be any better. We’ve had the unit I believe for at least a year and haven’t had any issues other than a TFT box go out which dasaita sent a replacement free of charge.
Unfortunately no, it’s a characteristic of wireless CarPlay. Doing some research it appears it happens to factory radios in other makes. It’s because CarPlay is going through wifi and not Bluetooth. It streams the interface as a compressed video which is what causes the delay. So basically any unit that you go with is going to do the same thing. Unfortunately wired is the only way to not have the delay and this unit doesn’t support wired CarPlay for some reason. It only can be wired with Android auto unfortunately.
@ okay that makes sense then. I thought it was a lot worse than what it actually is. My stock radio audio is delayed when I watch TH-cam in my car on Bluetooth. So that’s completely fine. Thank you for the help
No worries, it sucks for watching videos but the Bluetooth doesn’t lag on this unit which is nice. If you really want a lag free experience on any Android based unit, you can just flip on your hotspot and use the TH-cam app on the unit itself.
@@MobileCarMechanic i tried to factory reset it when it stopped playing music now its stuck on the dasaita logo screen at all times. Did the pinhole reset, popped by negative cable off the car still nothing.

Is the music louder than factory unit?
I didn't see a pluf for side camera. I ended up plugging into front camera plug. Is there a special side camera input?

Hey there..Make sure to plug the Cam VIN to Cam IN. You should have those video cables that came along with your kit.

My apple carplay only seems to work wired, can’t get the wireless to work. Any idea why?
It sounds like you may have a different radio as this one only does wireless CarPlay and not wired. Your radio may not have wireless capabilities.
How do you get a sim card to work on these devices? Do you have to activate a tablet line, phone line, or what exactly?
You need a data line, could be for a tablet. Just let your carrier know you need a line with data and a full size SIM card.

I've got a 2016 and there's an audio delay using the built in bluetooth. I'll check back when I install this weekend if that delay gets worse

You don’t. Even if the unit is booting up it will still launch the rear view camera when in reverse.

I just found out this is a known issue, and the fix is an update that hides that gauge.

No Worries, If you are using Carplay or Android Auto the data is used from your phone so you would not need to enable the hotspot.

Yes, the delay can be annoying when watching a video. I have learned to live with it. The CarPlay works great. It's responsive and smooth.

How long have you had the head unit? I’d recommend trying a factory reset to see if that changes anything.
