    I am getting consistent flyers. Even after mailing it back for warranty and waiting 6 months. I have ordered a re-crowning set as the last 1" of bore and crown look terrible. I will cut and re-crown then bed as shown in this video. I hope it fixes the issue, as Bergara will not. I have tried various quality mounts/optics, hundreds of dollars worth of various premium ammos and patient cold bore shooting. I am still getting consistent 3" flyers at 100m. There is a weird phenomenon going on with bergaras. The vast majority of people using them sounds very satisfied, often reporting custom rifle like accuracy. But on several forums sometimes a few "influent" guys pop up and literally start throwing s..t to bergara, with a lot of hanger and committment, getting even to say that these rifles are so bad that they would never own or work on one or even use parts for builds. To me it seems that these guys are actively trying to bash Bergara, maybe on the payroll of someone who could benefit from this. Emotional involvement in defending something we like is understandable, emotional involvement and committment in bashing a brand is more difficult to undestand if there is not some interest on the table. It wouldn't be the first time anyway

    • @OutdoorJack
      @OutdoorJack  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That is Just sad, I can’t for the life of me understand why someone would bash a brand like that. I hope they understand that when it comes to be their time there is only one ultimate judge. Store up your treasures in Heaven my friends. Thanks for the comment be sure to like and sub 👍🏼

    Great video, great rifle, but, for accuracy sake, your setup is likely much heavier than 8 lbs. Rifle 7.2 lbs, scope 1.7 lbs, plus rings, bases, scope caps, ammo (7 rounds @ 1 oz/rnd= about 0.4 lb) + carrier, and sling. More like 9.5-10lb. Okay for flat land, but in my opinion a little heavy for extensive mountain hunting. You could find economy in the scope weight: Burris 4-14x4 E1 is 0.96 lbs. A person may also consider a belt-attached ammo carrier to keep the weight on the hips not a shoulder. I say all this to keep it real for someone who might copy your setup for their first back country hunt. What works for you is, is what is important here. I am glad you are happy and the best of luck in the future.

    • @OutdoorJack
      @OutdoorJack  ปีที่แล้ว

      That is a great point Ray. You exactly right. Great feedback and thanks for watching.

    • @scotteger6271

      I agree...it always confuses me when I see these giant scopes. A Leupold VX-3HD 4.5-14X40 CDS-ZL weighs 13.3 oz. Saves almost a pound of weight just by changing the scope. Also, load 3 roads in the rifle...no ammo carrier needed. If you're taking more than 2 shots you're doing something wrong, this would give you 3.
      I agree that you could also carry an extra 3 rounds on your person if you really feel like they're necessary. I'd use a lightweight sling and some Talley lightweight scope mounts and call it a day.
      This setup would take you to just about 9 pounds field ready.

    Many will disagree with me on the subject of , necessary scope power, but, I personally think these extreem, high power scopes are unessary, case in point..... Female Russian Snipers did just fine taking long shots with 3x power fixed scopes. Carlos Hathcock , Ledgenary, Vietnam Era U.S.A. Marine Sniper, did Wonders, with an 8 power Unirtle brand scope; Jack O' Conner, Preacher of the 270 cal, did fine with basic power scopes, and quite often a 2.75 power Lyman Alaskan Scope for Sheep Hunting. Almost all game are shot at much closer ranges, and this just adds alot of unessary weight to a hunting Rifle, but I get it..... Very high percentage of people want to be that EXTREEM,Long Range , Sniper type Hunter.

    • @olsonfun
      @olsonfun ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree, I rarely use more than 16 or 18 when shooting 1000 yards. These 30 something power scopes just aren't necessary for it. For hunting I like a 4x16, low enough for something close, high enough to take a longer shot if needed.
