I used your tutorial for the baby mermaid tail for my newborn over 3 years ago. I'm now following this tutorial in preparation for Xmas. Thank you so much! ❤️
I love this! I'm making one for my granddaughter. I find your video very helpful, as I haven't crocheted in many years. I'm moving on to part 2 now. Thank you so much for sharing this!
I need to quit watching this before bed. Last night I dreamt I had too many shell stitches so I had to check my work as soon as I woke up. It was fine.
So I was making this for a birthday present for a 3 yo who's not going to get it now as I've gotten too confused with the instructions. Please add further edits to prepare viewers or add the pattern. Thanks. Was really nice to start with
I love the tail thanks for sharing your video. I am having some problem with ending the 2nd row and starting row 3 of the split. Can you please explain how I should end row2 snd start row 3
Hi, I really love how your style for the 3-4 year old mermaid tail looks. Very pretty. How would I make this for an 8 year old. Just go bigger by a few more rows maybe? Please let me know, I'd be very appreciative. Thank you.
Gina Marie Charland hi, I haven’t come up pattern for 8YO yet. But I guess you could use this pattern and use medium weight yarn size 4 and change the crochet hook to size 5.5mm.
So I'm so disappointed I worked on this all afternoon, I used DK yarn and I used two bigger hooks than what you suggest , I started with 4.5 and when I went up hook size I went up to 5.5 and there is NOWAY that a 3-4 year old can fit into this ??
I am confuse you said on round 9 8 dc,2 dc but on round ten you say 11 dc, 2 dc in the next stitch but when i do it that way it doesn't fall in to the previous 2dc like the rest of the rounds help what am i doing wrong
Juanita Cortes hi, thanks for raising this matter up. I didn't realized the mistake. Row 10: chain 3, 9 dc, 2 dc into next sts. Repeat 6x (66sts). Thanks again, I will definitely edit that part.
I just stumbled upon this pattern and want to try it but I've never heard of this brand of yarn (Ice) and can't hear you state what size of yarn this is, is it worsted weight #4, or DK weight baby yarn #3? I agree with other commenters that the music drowns out your voice plus you show the yarn label so quickly it cannot be read. Thanks, can't wait to try it!
Hi Juanite. This yarn is a DK #3 yarn. Very sorry for the music, I was new in TH-cam at that time and thought putting on the music was cool hehehe. So, since then, I did not put music anymore and I'm more understanding on my tutorial.
I love this pattern, but I'm trying to decide if it will fit my niece who is a little bit older. Can anyone tellme How big the circumference is or if you know how to make it a little bigger!
Andrea Lewis hi, if you used the exact yarn and crochet hook, you should get 26" in circumference. This blanket meant to be a loose mermaid blanket. Check out finished mermaid tail with a 3YO girl using it at part 2 video, skip to last 10sec.
When doing the 7 dc shell row I’m guessing you slip 4 stitches instead of three for next round correct? You failed to mention that in your directions. Hopefully you reply.
Anyone know how wide this is? And anyone do this in a #4 yarn and different size hook? Curious of the dimensions. Questions were asked previously but never fully answered. Thank you
HI Mariam. I don't have pattern for 5-6 years old. However, I do suggest you to change the yarn. Instead of DK weight/light weight #3, you could use medium a worsted/medium #4 yarn.
Hi first let me say I love this pattern however I’m lost maybe I’m over thinking but round 17 you say to do 6dc and to continue until we hit around 14inch in length but instead of slip 2 slip 3 but when I did that I end up with a wider pattern almost like a blooming flowing ... so when I slip 3 do I also skip 3? What I mean by that is slip 3 1sc skip 2 still or skip 3 And after go to 6dc skip 2 or skip 3 and continue ?
@@merlevaccarino1040 good idea!!!! I'm sure it will work out fine! And if not just pull it back out and try another way! Best of luck to you! .. you are already doing better than I did, because I just gave up on the half done piece and everytime I'd come across it I'd wonder why did I never finish that? .. and now thanks to you I remember this is why. Lol so don't give up! You've got this! 😃
Hi! 1st of all I would just like to say I love your videos so far and you made it very simple and easy to follow 😍😍😍. But I was wondering if you had a pattern for an 8-10 year old? I would love to make 1 for my daughter ❤️❤️
@@LovinglyNie hi i also have the same question because it seems a bit odd that round 10 is the only one different among other since i took down notes on your captions i got these round 1 : 12 dc in the first chain round 2: chain 3, 1dc, 2dc in the next round 3: chain 3, 2 dc, 2dc in the next round 4: chain 3, 3, dc, 2dc in the next round 5: chain 3, 4 dc, 2dc in the next you see the pattern? shouldn't round 10 be chain 3, 9dc, then 2 double crochets on the next stitch it would give us 66 double crochet at the end of the round

Hi Lieu. I don't have pattern for 5yo and up but you can use thicker yarn and size up the crochet hook to make bigger size. In this tutorial I use DK/light weight yarn #3, I suggest medium weight #4 yarn for bigger size.
Sally Roberts sorry but I don't have written pattern for this. Sorry 😐. May I know which part that you don't understand? Some of the part I speed it up because it was a repeat pattern. There's an instruction written in this video for every rounds.
At the beginning of the row for the first shell you put a stitch marker, the second row where does the stitch marker go in the top of that first shell then that first show of the next round which is becomes a single crochet do you put the stitch marker there I moved over one
You gave the measurements for the Length With the Tail. You gave the measurements for the tail. But How Wide is it at the top (even with the split)🤔??? Ice Yarns #3 or #4 weight. Your First row count is wrong right out of the gate. The MUSIC IS TOO LOUD. People want to make this as you have many on your channel... Just need to get the pattern right
i can not follow this pattern your one off on each row and you are two fast even if i wanted to count your stitches you move your hands to fast i am 52 and have been crocheting since i was 6 and this is not right some how
This video was the hardest video ever to follow, your numbers don't make sense when I count mine :/ I took out my work 3 times before giving up and trying another video.

Thank you so much for this tutorial!!! It is exactly what I have been looking for...in the round from the bottom, and so easy to follow!
Im totally confused from the very beginning. Is the chain 3 counting as a DC. Because then it would be 13 DC in the first round. Hard to follow.

I have a question when you start row 17 you say slip stitch 3 then signal crochet, do i skip three and then 6 double?
I need to make one of these for a 5 year old, I am just wondering if I can still use this pattern but use a bigger hook?
Hi. How wide does your blanket measure on the widest part. Thankyou for simple instructions. Very easy to follow
I love the tail thanks for sharing your video. I am having some problem with ending the 2nd row and starting row 3 of the split. Can you please explain how I should end row2 snd start row 3
Hi I wants to know how many shell I need to have around on row 17 and 18
Thanks for your quick response. I am making this for a six year old how long should i make it do you have a rough idea
in uk ive not seen a 4.25 mm hook what would i use
It’s a g hook.

Is itv supposed to be 11 shells in each round or does the numbed of shells increase
is row two two sets of double crochet then one double in the next two stitches
I started with a h hook cause i want it for a six year when i change hook should i go to a 5.5 hook

Ok I saw the change.
how much yarn needed for this project?
Hi I would like to know if a 4 ply yarn will work in this project and what would be the measurements? Thanks.
Alma Ascano hi, I think you will get bigger mermaid tail if you use 4 ply yarn. But I’m not so sure about the measurement though.
The first round of shells, there is supposed to be 11. After the first round, are there 10 shells?

can someone explain to me what is the purpose of 2 or 3 sl. st. in the beginning of each round with shells?
It's to get to the top of the shell to start the next round.

How do you start round for Child ages 6-10
Amazing pattern, I really love it

Hello , may I ask how many grams all you consume of this mermaid tail?
Hi, I think i used about 2 1/2 skeins of 100 grams yarn. I suggest about 300 grams.

is it possible to get written instructions for this?
Do you have a writing pattern?
I wish you would make one for a preteen size as opposed to just a baby, toddler and then you jump right to adult. That sucks.

Do you have a pattern to print?
Terrian Graham sorry I don’t have..
What weight is the yarn ??_
What can i do to make this a 5 6 year old?
Hi Kristie, I don't have pattern for 5-6yo. However you can always use same pattern and change the yarn to thicker yarn and larger hook.
I can't get my count on round 10 to be 66. Did I miss something?
hi there, did you have 6 increase every row? How many sts did you get?
@@LovinglyNie hi i also have the same question because it seems a bit odd that round 10 is the only one different among other since i took down notes on your captions
