Thank you, Donna!! This is the best set of instructions I've ever seen! I so appreciated that you specified the type of yarn you used, and gave the number of the crochet hook you used. Even better is that you explained what you were doing at each step, specifying which stitch you used and how many stitches you skipped as you moved along. EXCELLENT!!!
Made an adult cocoon sweater with this stitch as the trim, and made many pairs of fingerless gloves with it as well. I also made a mermaid tale blanket for my granddaughter.
@@naztazia Thanks, and you teach this stitch so well, make it looks so much easier than most people think it is. I also learned broomstick lacefrom you :)
I am going to make a blanket for my cat thank you kind soul for beautiful patterns and how wonderful you are to teach us I made a lot of blankets from the patterns I learned from you.❤
Donna I finally finished your 3d blanket I used red and white and just love it although my cats seem to like it even more! I love all your toots! Think you might create an autumnal table runner?….
Hhmm.... Maybe I can turn this into a square... Can you turn this into a square? Can I have a cluster of them in a specific shape against a background of plain stitches...?
Hi, I just bought two pairs of sleeves with this pattern last week. Not cheap but lovely pattern and colours. Is there a way to create a triangle scarf with this? This would be amazing!
I followed this tutorial and I used the size hook that was recommended for my yarn (5mm for worsted weight yarn) but mine does not lay flat at all, the scales want to fold in on each other and it doesn’t look right stretched out. Should I increase or decrease my hook size to deal with this? I assume the issue is actually my tension but I have to work with what I can do repeatably, so I’d rather leave my tension as is and change hooks if that is a possible solution
If the scales aren't laying flat, it is most likely due to a tighter tension. Usually a looser tension will create larger stitches, which in this case would end up as flatter stitches. I would suggest trying a size K 6.5 mm crochet hook, and see if that at least gets the scales to go flatter. If it does, then either use that or slowly work down to a J 6mm or an I 5.5 mm to find the best one.
It might be because the tension is too tight. A looser tension usually makes them flat. The easiest way to ease up on the tension is to use a larger crochet hook, either 1 or 2 sizes up from whatever you are using now.

How cute is this for a mermaid blanket, perhaps? Handbag? Edging along clothing?
Good job 👍🏼 beautiful

Yes, a triangle is possible! I'll have to put that on my to do list 😊
The text on the top do not match what you are saying - the chain ones are missing is there a full written pattern with all the spoken words?
I see the ch1 spaces, i believe this is in US terms
Lovely. Thank you 🧶💚
You’re welcome 😊
Beautiful stitch.
Need instructions for a left handed person to do this.
Does it need to be in the back loop only or can I go into both loops for the initial chain?
It can be done however you wish, back loop, front loop, both top loops, underneath loop, etc.
@@naztazia Thank you;

What hook are you using? I know you put some in the description but they don't look the same.
In this sample I'm using a 4.5 mm crochet hook, which seems to go along with the yarn I'm using.
My scales don't lie flat like yours do. why is that do you think?
It might be because the tension is too tight. A looser tension usually makes them flat. The easiest way to ease up on the tension is to use a larger crochet hook, either 1 or 2 sizes up from whatever you are using now.
Thanks so much.
Wait wait i think it would be great on cardigan from where hand starts at soldier
Like a armour
Absolutely!
Can it be used for amigurumi?
Absolutely! It's a good textured stitch pattern for making feathers, fish scales, even hair, etc.
Tem como fazer uma aula com o passo a passo explicando como faz?
Este vídeo é um tutorial passo a passo sobre como fazer o molde.
Achei você 😅
❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you!
😮 beautiful but you should explain more slowly, you're going too fast and I can't follow you 😅
