+TechnoBuffalo Great video of real world use. Congrats, and well done. I'm in Turkey should have my gold Exynos version tomorrow. Looking forward to it. Small word of warning now that you have your own personal Note7. In the water is fine but be careful of salt water. It can corrode your USB port and any exposed metal, and flush out your sPen port with fresh water as when it dries you will have little sharp salt and maybe even sand grains stuck in there, might not be good for the pen.
Damn, honestly the best display on the market 100%.. i dont care what anybody says about samsung...you gotta give them respect for those screens
No as good like the ips dual domain pixels of the iPhone 6s plus, the samsung pentile amoled display still has a lot of flaws, like not as crisp for reading and seeing text, little images txs to the pentile pixels matrix, greenish viewing angles, over saturated unreal colors , yellowish/pinkish whites and loss of dark deails to see photos and videos, also worst sunlight visibility. The iPhone 7 will have even better display also.

Smartphones have gotten so good lately that you can't assess their overall performance just after one/two weeks of usage..TB should do a revisited review of phones which are a year old like the GS6 for example..that would really show how a smartphone stands up in the long run..if you're seeing this comment Jon I'd like you to do a revisited video :)

I have the S7 Edge and it's one thing to playback recorded video on the phone, but it's another to see the quality on the big screen. Needless to say, the video quality is out of this world for a smartphone. Also, glad to see that you had a nice trip!
Nice review. I've been liking the Note 7 so far after switching from an iPhone 6. Much different OS is taking time to learn but its a fun phone to use. Battery life and scratch resistance could definitely be better though.

It's water resistant only in fresh water, not salt water. So it was pretty risky to put it in salt water.
it actually doesn't matter i had a s5 but it was so far so good in salt water
siddhant gahlot That's because the S5 uses flaps, so it prevents any kind of water from entering. The S7, Note 7 and edge don't use flaps. They use a special coating that is only water repellent. It doesn't work as effectively against salt water.

Glad to hear that you didn't have a lot of issues with scratches. With all the TH-cam videos out there about scratches, I was getting concerned. I haven't rec'd my Note 7 yet and was starting 2nd guessing my purchase. Thx for the REAL life review! Now I need a nap! LOL

Why do people always say it's waterproof ? It's water resistant

Cuz it is ip68 certified..phones with olephobic coating are water resistant...

If you can stick it in 5 feet of water for 30 minutes that's close enough to water proof for me. Water resistant is going to imply if your hands or hair are wet it won't fry your phone, like how many of mine in the past did. But hell, if I can drop it in the water for a half hour and not ruin my phone that's good enough for me. Who needs 31 minutes underwater with their phone? Pretty sure I can do most of what I need to in less than one minute underwater.

iPhone 6 plus guy here, must admit I’m getting bored of the phone, would you recommend switching to note? Ive been iPhone since they arrived on Verizon and to be honest, phone has been the same outside of the obvious size upgrade from iPhone 5 to 6 plus.

I am also a current iPhone 6 user whose contract is ending in Jan 2017, if the iPhone 7 isnt going to impress me, i might end up switching to Samsung Galaxy S8 when it launches early 2017. Samsung phones seems to be getting better and attractive looking.

Do you have any scratches so far? My biggest concern is how easily it apparently scratches I don't like putting phones in cases.

N Black All ready brought it lol. Just don't see the point in putting phones in cases unless you either don't care about looks and just want the features or you want to retain it's resale value. Otherwise you keep it in a case to keep it in good condition but when are you actually going to enjoy the phone in good condition? It's like buying a leather couch but then covering it in a fabric cloth to protect it from spilling drinks on it etc. Also find it funny how all these years Samsung has made plastic phones and everyone hated them for it but now they make amazing looking glass and aluminium phones people are putting plastic cases on them anyway.

Having a phone in a case kinda ruins the experience of these beautiful phones, but I have a UAG for my s6, and it enhances the looks (in my opinion) and also helps increase grip dramatically. Also, living in a somewhat rural area and working in a warehouse part time, it kinda makes sense to get a case. I'm outside all the time and trail ride ATVs often and if I didn't have a case I'd just be asking for a broken screen. Just depends on your lifestyle. If youre inside a lot and don't do much manual labor, you can pass without a case. Otherwise a case is necessary if you want your phone to last 2 years. My UAG has saved my phone from countless drops.
You love the recall of your phone as well. Check the news. Samsung rushed to release the phone before iPhone 7. And the result is an unfinished phone. Check the latest news.

Jon this is one of the best reviews I've ever seen for a phone. As a father of a 2 year old it was very relatable. I just got the S7 edge so I'll be holding off the Note but luckily I've got a lot of the same specs and features. Great review dude.

Bullshit. The note 7 is the best phone on the market, and given the fact that the iphone 7 is removing the headphone jack and adding that disgusting camera bump on the back, im pretty sure the note 7 will remain the best for a while. Regarding lag, my iphone 5s lags horribly now to the point of unusability and so is my friend's iphone 6.
I have had 4s 5s and 6 and when im writing in whatsapp the phone lags and you have to wait 5 to 10 seconds to phone starts working again

I got mine last week. I really like the sleekness and the slim look of the phone. I thought it was going to be big like the note 4. I like how samsung combined the note with the edge features it's like two phones in one. I'm glad I got it
Got mine the day it came out. Could not be happier, came from an S7 Edge and prior to that a Note Edge & Note 4. My only complaint is that Canada got the Exynos version of the S7 Edge and the Snapdragon version of the Note 7. I can notice small differences in performance given the fact that the Exynos is a better chip.
Traditionally I've been a Nexus and iPhone guy. My experience with Samsung devices are limited to the Nexi they made, and the original S, the SII and (briefly) the SIII. After the SIII, I was thoroughly finished with Samsung having dealt with far too many issues and inconsistencies for them to be a relevant contender for my money again.
From friend's experiences with the S4, S5 and much of the comparable Note line as well, I knew I wasn't missing a whole bunch by ditching Samsung. Then fast forward a few years to the launch of the S7/S7e and Note 7 and now I'm nothing short of amazed with them!
My daily is an iPhone SE along side a Nexus 5, but the S7/S7e and Note 7s have all had me reconsidering whether I want to hang on to the Nexus 5 as my primary Android. I still think the SE is the best iPhone for me, but finding the perfect Android phone can be very difficult given just how many excellent options there are out there. I think Samsung really hit the mark this time around, and now my only issue is choosing between the S7, S7e and Note 7!

Hey guys I have a question about Samsung cloud. Is there a way to gain access to the content being uploaded like pictures and things like that? You know like one drive or amazons cloud service. Any info on that would be great. Oh and I love my note7. Samsung makes really good phones if you ask me. In fact their TVs are great to. I'll probably have Samsung phones till I die.
I'll be getting the Note 7 in December. I just got the Note 5 last December and want to wait a little.....BTW Jon I love Maui! Wished I lived a little closer instead of the east coast or I would go more often. 10.5 hour plane ride from LGA is a little bit much. But once you get to Hawaii it's worth it.....

It's been a rough season....
preordered note 7, came from s7 edge, love it. I prefer the note's more subtle curves and larger screen. I use the edge screen daily cause it allows one handed easy access to favorite apps.

Much props on the video. Great as usual. My concern is in March I got super excited about the S7 edge. Reviews were a consensus that battery life was awesome. Get the phone and that's not the case. I even bought a second one thinking it was me. Tried all the battery saving tricks in the book to no avail. Still at 10% by 5pm.
What's the big difference between the battery life/SOT you're getting vs regular Joes?
I love my Note 7 I got it in onyx black and I got the silver for my mom. It's the best phone I've owned so far and I don't regret it.
Okay so I've had iPhones since the iPhone 5, and before that was a Motorola droid user. I'm really debating on making the switch to the note 7, but I love the smoothness of iOS! Am I going to have trouble switching to the android operating system!? And are there any other iOS users who have made the switch?
One of the things I like most about it is the small changes to the appearance of TouchWiz. Little things here and there that have changed but honestly made it so much more pleasing to the eye IMHO.
