    Read more at . It’s been a long road of changes for the Samsung Galaxy Note over the last couple of years.
    That “thing” that we eventually named a phablet was prone to divisiveness from the tech media a few years ago, right up until people started to use it. It turns out that the whole concept of a huge phone actually made sense - so much so, Samsung touts that the phablet market has grown by 200 million units year after year since the inception of the first Galaxy Note in 2012.
    The road since has been full of mixed reactions. For four whole years, the Note was the dream powerhouse. Then, the Galaxy Note 5 disappointed because it fell back with the idea of just being a larger Galaxy S6. This year, in a quest to address customer demands, Samsung has taken all the complaints it received from the Note 5 and then built on the success of the S7 edge, combining both to launch its next iteration of a tablet killer.
    At the Unpacked launch event, we heard the word “feedback” being thrown around repeatedly, along with the phrase, “meaningful progress.” We even discussed this with Juan Carlos Bagnell in our first impressions video - the Samsung that we met at this event was the most humble we’ve ever seen. And that’s great news.
    Now, the biggest question is if all this change will serve you as a consumer in the same meaningful way as Samsung intends. Let’s answer that.
    The Galaxy Note 7 is also the phone that we’ve dedicated the most amount of feature coverage - and there’s a reason for that.
    This is not just any smartphone. We boldly say it is the most feature-packed experience that money can buy, and it would not be fair to sum it all up in a 12-minute video or 2,700 words. As with every product, there is a small list of shortcomings. But even when you consider them, it’s really hard to compare this Samsung phablet against other smartphones. Sure, our round of comparisons will follow this review, but it’s hard to find another phone with this level of build quality, a camera that’s this great, and a set of software features that’s this complete. About the only thing we could say that would hold anyone back from buying one is the hefty price tag. It costs way more than the average flagship, but compare it against the likes of the iPhone 6s Plus or even the Galaxy S7 edge. It’s when you punch those numbers that you discover the value you acquire with a Note 7 and where we could safely say that you’re getting more for your money with the best of the best.
    The Samsung Galaxy Note 7 is back to being on a league of its own. And as a long-time Note aficionado, I’m glad to feel right at home using one again.

    If not for the blowing up thing 😮 this was hands down the greatest phone ever made! I had 2 from T-Mobile & they took both back 😢 Just a beautiful phone big & yet felt perfect in your hands! Trust me I didn't want to give my 2nd Note7 back, truly was a sad day.

      Note 7: 850$
      Yet, its about what you prefer.
      Im not saying iPhone SE is better, the iPhone SE made an own category of phones. So did the Note 7.
      You can't compare those. But both are great.

    Samsung Note 7 is a beast and allmost the perfect smartphone.
    Note 7: best screen according to Display Mate, best camera according to DxOMark, most secure smartphone according to Gartner, by far the fastest autofocus (DSLR quality), Pro Mode camera, RAW mode camera, better Battery than the iPhone 6, fast charging, (fast) wireless charging, IP68 water- and dustproof, best mobile payment solution (NFC and MST), perfect integration with the best mobile VR solution (Gear VR and Gear 360), expandable memory, LTE download more than 50% faster dan the iPhone 6, multiwindow, floating windows, Ultra Power Saving Mode, very fast quick launch camera, Optical Image Stabilisation (iphone only on the S), recording mode for games, heart rate sensor, blood oxygen sensor, themes support, allways on display, wide front facing selfie camera, 64 Gb standard, LED notification on the home screen, select your preferred default applications (Maps, broweser, e-mail et cetera), file manager for managing all files on your smartphone, OTG adapter to connect any USB device to the Note 7, S-Pen, Iris Scanner, HDR streaming, safe folder (KNOX secured).
    The iphone has NONE of these. NONE. The NOTE is far and far better than the iphone 6 or 7. Apple has lost the battle 2 years ago.
    Next year the Samsung S8 with 4K (VR), the Galaxy X (foldable smartphone) and the Note 8. Alle before Apple comes up with the pathetic iphone 8 with an amoled screen from Samsung.

    • @Jawz4Lyfe

    • @darrinthorpe9292

    • @Jawz4Lyfe
      @Jawz4Lyfe 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Darrin Thorpe Completely submersed isn't practical, but it is possible. Underwater use is mainly for using your phone while it's raining, because the touchscreen can't detect finger presses when wet.

    battery life , s7 edge or note 7?

  • @andyH_England
    @andyH_England 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    When you compared prices I dont know if you were being serious? Giving subsidized prices was daft as resellers are heavily discounting the s7 edge at the moment, in the UK just £450 compared to Over £800 for the Note 7! Thats a big premium and compared to the Note 5 which can be bought for £375 thats even harder to swallow. Clearly it is better than both of these though not if you dont need the s-pen, but is the Note 7 worth £425 more than the Note 5? I think the Note 5 would be a much better purchase as speed tests show that it is only about 3-5% slower in day to day use and the battery life is better and at the moment its RAM management is better. Of course if you do a lot of underwater note taking or live in a very cold place where your fingers would drop off if you took a glove off, then the N7 is the real deal, but for 99.9% of us the Note 5 will do great and we could even buy a spare and have some change for accessories.

    3:57 Now use the phone with the gloves on, I challenge you.
    My point is, the iris scanner is indeed a great way to unlock your phone but don't use the topic of gloves to defend the feature. You will still need to take your gloves off to use the phone itself. So since I have to take my gloves off anyway, why don't I just take the gloves off before I wake phone? And then I can decide if I want to use the new iris scanner or go traditional with the fingerprint scanner or a pin?
    Sure you can tweak the sensitivity of the screen to use the phone with the gloves on, but you will probably want to reset the screen sensitivity when you get home and are not using gloves.
    Great review, by the way. Keep up the good work.

    • @TheRock9500
      @TheRock9500 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      some gloves allow for touch screen use without the need of taking them off. that's why the iris scanner is useful for this.( if you didn't know some gloves have a special type of material on the thumb and forefinger to allow usage while covered, but don't allow the use of the finger print scanner. you could say if you have that why don't you just type in a pin, but it's all for the sake of speed of unlock.)
