  • Similar to the time I looked at the West Somerset Railway in Train Sim World 4 (and the Corris Railway in TS classic), I wanted to review another heritage railway in TSC, namely the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway. This route was brought to TSC by Steam Sounds Supreme with help from other third-party developers.
The KWVR is a short heritage line running from Keighley to Oxenhope in West Yorkshire, England. The branch opened in 1867 and closed in 1961, but heritage operations began just seven years later in 1968, and the line has since become famous for appearing in numerous film and television productions, including the 1970 film adaptation of The Railway Children and the music video for 'Breaking Us in Two' by Joe Jackson.

Yeah, it is bizarre the situation with it. And, Damems is actually the shortest station in the UK, well shortest Standard Gauge station, and I like how you added Pendennis Castle in, as I rode behind the locomotive during the Spring Steam Gala, if you didn't see my short. I'm going to see D1015 on the line too, but not riding. As for whether this should go into TSW, I really dunno....what I think should come to TSW is the Airedale and Wharfedale lines (well it is my local line but that is beyond the point), as I think it makes a good candidate for the game, with the unique Class 333, 331, and Skyhook can give DTG their 158 to do in Northern Livery. The KWVR can be represented in AI by the Peak Forest stock, and possibly Flying Scotsman. Class 801 can be used for AI at Leeds and for the Skipton/Bradford Forester Square services.

I got the idea to include a scene with Pendennis Castle after seeing photographs of the real thing at the KWVR on Flickr. As for whether or not the line should come to TSW, I would prefer the Airedale and Wharfedale lines too, simply because I think the KWVR is too short for a TSW add-on. What's more, I wouldn't mind seeing it set in the early 1990s with units like the Class 307 and Class 308, although a modern-image setting with 333s and 331s wouldn't be a bad idea.

@@DC4260Productions Well, if you haven't seen my short 'Doing things the Great Western Way on the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway', then it was coincidence.....and good point, but the modern image would be better as the 333s are unique, and people can do the 332 in Livery Designer. Although atm, the Shipley-Baildon bit is closed due to a landslip, but will open again soon

You complain about the PLD packs being too expensive, but they are probably the most detailed packs you can get for the game, not to mention just about every member and variant is included with the most in depth physics of any locomotives in the game.

I don't deny that PLD's engines are very advanced, and I've actually got one of them (namely the Rebuilt Patriot). But she was cheaper than the Bulleid Pacifics, and I'm not prepared to spend as much as twenty pounds on a TS classic add-on that I won't use all that often.

16:30 In real life, Damems is a request stop along the line. Trains don't usually stop here, unless you ask the guard. It is pronounced Dam-ems.

Personally I’m not a fan of DLC. What puts me off is the high price coupled with the sheer amount of DLCs required for the reskins. I think that for the high price more separate models should be included with the pack, especially considering the short length of the line. The other route on SSS, the Stainmore route, requires far fewer DLCs (in reality only Woodhead) which comes with plenty rolling stock. That route presents far better value for money imo.
Btw for the Woodhead & RL50 route I recommend a track patch from Golden Age Development which converts these routes to use the Vulcan track pack. I consider the routes to look far more superior when driving with the patches installed

Also about Damems's size. I don't know it's reasoning but KWVR has a little diesel railcar it runs around, so the station size isn't a problem. In Galas, they usually run two trains. One bigger consist, and one single Carraige consist pulled by a shunter (usually D0226 Vulcan, the only survivor of her class)
