I normally run sword and throwing knife for many reasons but 1 is to counter the 2 people in the world that also use dagger. I was doing a fof steal the other day and I switched to blunderbus and dagger to better deal with the large number of players involved (2 man sloop and a brige) but it came back to bite me because the last player out of the 5 I had to kill at new golden sands to sell the chest of fortune used throwing knife’s and I was out of heals and couldn’t block the attack so I died right outside sovereign’s with the chest. I’m so mad at myself for switching loadouts even though the blundy was very useful
They are absolutely not. Even now that doublegunning is nerfed to insanity, I could 2 tap someone easier and probably quicker. It is just a lot more reliable and you don't have as much bullet drop. And even only using the pistol with animation cancelling it should be better than the throwing knife. And for close range obviously the cutlass is now better than ever. I still stick to blunder+Eor. or pistol+Eor. for tdms. Unfortunately there are no tdms anymore and most of the actually good players from back then quit or were falsely banned.
I think knives are in no need of nerfs despite them being OP on paper. Sure, they have insane TTK, but the amount of skill they require over something like the sniper rifle offsets that immensely. If anything, I'd touch up their ability to duke it out in melee.
thats the thing you can completely miss and still get a hit. dont get me wrong i love the knives but sometimes i just miss completely and stillend up getting a hit the hit box needs work the damge is fine

@@zacharyjackson1829 I mean I understand gold Skelly's being weak to bullets and plant being weak to swords but the thing is plant Skelly's can still die the bullets but golden can't die the swords I feel like if you soak them in water thay should be vulnerable to swords (It would be very awkward if that was actually a thing and I'm just stupid)

Neat trick: when you're being hit by a sword, you can actually throw a dagger in between the sword swipes, just hold down right click to keep the dagger wound up and then left click after a sword swipe.

finally people realize the true potential, it's basically a fast reload sniper rifle at the cost of lower range and needing to know how to shoot projectiles.
You forgot extremely limited movement and no hipfire/quickscope, which in combination kicks it out off the meta completely. If you use it against good opponent, you're basically dead.

My husband immediately started using these when they dropped and loves them. I suck at using them so I’ll be sticking with the reach, I prefer to be a sneaky sniper 😏
The dagger does look OP lol. But I also imagine that your learning curve to get used to a new weapon is fast. I’d be practicing for months lol. Super fun video as always I love the science
I have never had success guarding ladders with a blunderbuss. I shoot, hit nothing, and they board as I am reloading and they kill me. Until that glorious day the throwing knives came. They are silent and deadly. I had a guy on the ladder and I bam bam with the knives and he died falling off the ladder. How? He never heard the shot he was waiting for to board. It was 2 sword lunges worth of damage and he never knew what hit him. It was like the angels started singing. lol
I think the only reason why you'll never see it in pvp settings is because its not a hit scan like the other weapons so the throws are a little less predictable, but for pve that's a perfect weapon.
i love them they are versitile and pretty good in both pvp and pve. they do have their downfall though. they will also probably be nerfed later on the hit box for them is to big you can completely miss and get a false hit marker and still do damage
I've been using them for PvP, and my god, they are great . That being said, the reason they are great is because it only takes 2 hits to kill and they have huge hit boxes.
