This is one of the videos that have convinced me to get the Smokin-It smoke generator. I had looked at the Smokemeister, and while I like the idea of no air pump, you can't use it with a pellet smoker while it's running. I appreciate the part of the video where the smoke generator's running while the Recteq is on. That BFG is a beast!
    Thank you for posting this.

I have a Smokai cold smoke generator installed on my Treger r Ironwood 885. The Traeger burned pellets a little too efficiently, thus not making much smoke. I have the 2 liter version of the Smokai, which provides me with 6 - 12 hours of smoke, depending on what I'm burning in it and how much smoke I'm pushing. This kind of setup will allow you to smoke something at 400 degrees and throw a lot of smoke at it.
One problem I've had, was that some woods, especially cherry, get sticky and gummy when slowly burned, which can create a bridge internal to the smoke generator, which can hinder new chips falling into the burn chamber of the smoke generator. What I did, was clamp a mechanical vibratir to the smoke generator, and built some electronics to give the smoke generator a. Bit of a shake at a duration and interval I program. No more internal bridging that I would have to rend to way to often. All the parts to do this are available on Amazon, and I can post more info somewhere if anyone is interested,

I a smokai hooked to a cold smoke house, I love the cold smoked bacon etc.
I was gonna hook it to my traeger but was wondering how you like the taste of the extra smoke on ribs or brisket etc.

Interesting video. I'm picking up my BFG today. This could be a nice addition for it.

It was nice in the beginning. I still prefer my P.I.G. though. I have some videos on using it too. Welcome to the RecTeq BFG family! 😀

I just made a 3 foot diffuser from stainless with holes straight thru every two inches. Hoping to install my Bella’s and this mod. I crimped the tube down to allow a nice fit and slip out

I've been thinking about adding a smoke generator to my pellet grill so that I can use it to cold-smoke. Have you considered putting a damper (even if it's just tinfoil) on the right chimney so that the smoke is forced to exit on the left?

A little old of a response, but no, did not really look into it. I did eventually move onto the P.I.G and then recently moved to the Recteq Dualfire 1200. For visible smoke anyways, there is a huge difference! Size matters a lot on that.

Pellet grills are neither a grill nor a smoker. A pellet grill is more like an oven. You'll get a little bit of a smoke flavor, but not much. If you want a smoker, you need a source of smoke, and the simple truth is a pellet 'grill' isn't going to provide it. A smoke generator like the one in this video is an excellent solution. A smoke generator with a variable speed pump will allow you to dial in any amount of smoke at any temperature.

dude you have so much room - a smoke tube should be all you need. I have one of those smoke tubes you can extend to different sizes and that work great and I don't have any where near your room - instead of pulling holes in your grill

I am glad you enjoy your smoke tubes. I have also used them, and still have the, for other smokers. For a cold smoke generator, is far superior.

Which do you recommend more, the smokin it bella, or the smoke daddy?

I just ordered a Bella for my BFG. Is the smoke flavor more like a stick burner? Thanks for the great video!

    • @ImHungryMK

I really love my Bella's the flavor it produces is great. However I have had some issues when using just pellets, make sure that you mix your pellets with wood chips. My issue is due to the moisture in the pellets causing them to steam and create a clog in the middle of the unit.
I have the Smoke Daddy P.I.G. and will be testing with it tomorrow. Will post some videos.

I also find that if I keep it clean and I use pellets from the BFG's hopper it almost never clogs.

You can make the exact same thing with a fish aquarium pump a 1 gallon paint can Some high temperature silicone tubing and three-quarter inch pipe threaded this little piece of shit is not worth $185 when you can build the same damn thing for about 30 bucks

Heloo sir this is a cold smoker. This is a Bella Cold Smoker, it means you dont use any heat 🔥 or Fire from your main RecTec igniter. You use this for Cold Smokin 🧀 Cheese, Salmon for Smoked Lox or smoked Sausage. Please don't add any more modifications. Smokin it already has it figured out that's all you need. Your BFG should be already putting out perfect hot smoke when your doing Briskets, Pulled Pork, Tri tip, Chicken. Don't turn on your RECTEC while using the Bella. Your defeating the real use for Cold Smokin 🥶 🥩🧀 Happy Cold Smokin 🥶 😋
