    Thanks for posting this. I have seen people come up with some really crazy contraptions and elaborate ways to cold smoke. This looks like a nice, simple way of doing it, and with the convenience of using on multiple cookers.

    That is truly genius , That’s a must have great content as usual Tom . I would love to see you link with a builder / manufacture for a custom
    Build . I bet it would be the Cadillac of all grills . I have 8 pits/ grills now so your content is invaluable here at my home .

    My local Walmart has these marked down to 150 dollars. I almost bought one but having a Smokey mountain I didn’t see a need for purchasing this pellet grill. From you’re videos it looks like a good pellet grill.

    Good idea for more smoke. You put washers and a bolt to cover the hole when smoke generator not in use, how about putting one of those swivel covers that they use for the probes?, that way all you have to do is slide it out if the way when you want to use the smoke generator.

    That smoke generator's design is remarkably similar to the electric bong I made in college back in the 70's... who do I sue? lol

    OK... so I do a great deal of cold smoking... chops, ribs, fish, chicken, sausages, potatoes, eggs, seeds, nuts, cheese ect. I have been using AMAZEN tubes for several years now. I have several 6" models and I find that they do a great job in the cold smoke dept. Of note, a great "hack" I can give regarding these tubes is to stand it up like a candle. Far better results!! My 6" tubes, filled with pellets, consistently provide +/- 2 hours of smoke. Fill them with chips, +/- 1 solid hour of smoke time. I also have their squared up basket, with pellets, it consistanly provides 12 hours of smoke.
    Now, this little device looks intriguing to me... $100 is a bit pricey to me to take an adventure down a road I am very comfortably traveling on right now... but I will bookmark their site and see if I can rope on of my other grill buddy's to take on the challenge!

    Interesting video for sure!!!!! I find if I want more smoke on my food I will use my offset and I find lumberjack pellets impart the best flavor in the pellet grill without any help….great idea though for those who might want to cold smoke!!! Thanks for posting, Tom

      A cold smoke generator would allow you to get the same amount of smoke flavor as an offset with all the convenience that a pellet smoker gives you

    Just did some ribs on my Smokefire and used a 12” tube filled with hickory chips. Perfect amount of smoke flavor and cheap, cheap, cheap solution. I bought the tube on Amazon for less than $10.

      @@TomHorsmanAmateurBBQ meh, the key is to use wood chips and not pellets in the tube. If I had more smoke flavor, it’d be over smoked for my tastes. As the chefs say, think of smoke is an “ingredient”, not the only flavor one wants to taste. My two cents, and probably not worth that! ;)

    Hey Tom
    Curious if you recommend this device over the smoke daddy heavy D diffuser? Does one or the other produce better smoke flavor?
    Appreciate all the hard work and time/dedication you put in all your vids!

    • @TomHorsmanAmateurBBQ
      @TomHorsmanAmateurBBQ  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for Watching Terry! The Heavy D only works on limited pellet grills and it must have a PID controller. This Pellet grill does not have a PID so I wouldn't recommend the Heavy D

    • @terrycavaness8259
      @terrycavaness8259 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’m guessing the PID controller will keep temps tighter/under control compared to a digital controller? Do you have a recommendation on a PID controller that will plug/play on an older American Made Traeger?
      Thanks Tom!
