I'm Hungry
United States
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 15 ก.ค. 2020
The title really says it all, I’m hungry and my family is also. I enjoy to cook and want to share my success, mistakes and complete failures with you. I cook on the Recteq BFG RT2500, Bullseye RT-B380, Blackstone 36" Griddle with air fryers and a warming tray and OCCASIONALLY a good ol' firepit!
How to Clean and Restore an old Blackstone Griddle Top - 1 year since use!!!
In this video, I will show you the steps I took to restore the dull appearance of the griddle top to a shiny clean surface. My Blackstone needed to be restored and cleaned after sitting outside in the backyard for over a year without being used. The griddle top had surface rust and just in general was dirty and dried out and lost most of it's seasoning.
Tools I used:
Water
Oil - I used Canola Oil
Infrared thermometer
Rags
Tongs
Spatula
Scraper
5 gallon bucket

I have one of the newer Bella's smoke generators. They added a vent to the top to cut down on the moisture. It probably does help. I only use wood chips in mine like Western brand that Wally world sells, no problems with it. however it doesn't last as long as it would with pellets.
You are the bob ross of grilling
how quick does the sear side heat up?
Great video on a simple cleaning and reuse ready. After a year of sitting that looks pretty good, what no more videos
I'm putting a pan in mine.
Any seasoning needed on the new grate?

super helpful brother thank u! Were doin a brisket overnight in my bullseye, this vid gave me peace of mind 😂
100% agree on the tin foil bit. I get why they say to do it, but it just makes it more difficult for me to
I have a BFG with a smoke box and a cold smoke generator and I love it
I continue to have flare ups even with a clean grill.
Question. What happens to droppings on direct side since it has no drip bucket? Just have to clean it up?
They return into Ash. I like grilling on charcoal they flare up and then they turn into ash.
@ImHungryMK ok thanks. So no issues at all considering getting 1.
@@ImHungryMK would you purchase the dual fire or 1400xl? As a do all grill.
@@Jerry-rg8mx it’s a dualfire
@@Jerry-rg8mx i’ll probably buy second one for my moms house. I think you should go for it.
It's breakfast because i put eggs in it... well, you're not wrong!
Y ou forgot the butter
Really nice video! Excellent footage and close ups. You really have a nice grill, looks like you've perfected seasoning the surface. Thank you Sir!
Egg rings are a waste of money. If you break an egg and drop it onto a hot surface, the white of the egg will form a natural ring. Break the yellow and gently spread it through the white. Some white might tend to run astray, but once it cooks it is easy to fold back over the circle. Once this blob becomes cooked enough to hold together, flip it and finish it to well or medium done as you prefer……no egg ring to clean up.
Awesome, and you're SO right about saving money by making it at home. Looked great man!
I learned to fly, paid for a vacation, paid off my credit cards, and boosted my retirement accounts,….all by making everything at home. BOGO pork shoulder? Boom, days worth of carnitas/pulled pork/soups/etc. BOGT chicken? Boom, days worth of soups/sammys/salads/etc. Friend who can’t sell eggs fast enough? I’ll take a dozen off your hands. Boom, week of breakfast sandwiches ready to go. When I stopped buying processed food, my energy and health went up, and so did my bank accounts.
I use Bays english muffins and if you haven't tried the Brioche version of those, then you really should! Best english muffin on planet Earth!
I'll have to look for them. Thanks.
I like the bell pepper idea, and I like to use diced sweet onion.
For egg rings, I'm going to Dollar Tree and get a set of six Mason Jar lids for $1.25 and those will serve.
I use Mason Jar Rings with Jumbo Eggs. Spray pan, put ring down and place lid on pan to heat the whole ring. Splash a tbsp of water in the ring, crack the egg, let egg slowly drop out of the shell so it will not force runnier white to sneak under the edge of the ring. Place lid on for 1 minute, then lift the lid and puncture the yolk. Puncture any bubbles in the egg. Turn heat down and add a little more water to steam the exposed egg. I prefer Walmart's sausage patty and a real cheese like Bongards or Kraft Classic American. I lightly toast the English muffin to dry it a little bit. Then I place it in my Mini Clam griddle cut side out to griddle the face of the muffin. It makes a huge difference. Also, Macdonalds has dill ground in their sausage which is their flavoring difference from the Walmart sausage. So for fussy connesuers that like the original flavor, this will be almost exactly the same taste as Mackey D's. As for different rings, I find that I prefer a little thicker than the large Blackstone or the flimsy silicone ones. These are 3 3/4 - 4 inches and for me that is too big and makes thin egg round.
can you close the kettle joe lid down on this and it all fit?
By adding the grilled onions to the patties you created a barrier between the meat and the heat. it was not needed and prevents a good char on both sides. Next time just add them on after. That being said it was a great video you posted
Hi hungry! I’m dad ❤
Did you microwave the pellets first to try and fix the problem, or put the pellets in the oven to dry them? I have to do that with one brand I use for cold-smoking bacon in my AMazeN pellet tray. Fixes the problem.
OCD with the bread? You almost corrected it at 10:32 but left it a little out of alignment. I think that was on purpose and nobody caught it, lol! Love the commentary!
They should put you on TV cuz between your humor, The background music, & demo…I’m now about to leave to get an egg ring lol
Thanks man! Glad you like the video!
Thanks for sharing this, your daughter is cute.
Egg rings are just more dishes to wash. As a professional grill cook, ive been making folded eggs for sandwiches for 20 years and have never needed to use an egg ring. The way you do it is take your scrambled egg portion and "draw" an outline to make a "wall" first, then you fill in the wall.
Don’t have to do the dishes…. 😀
Hi, thanks a lot for this fun review. Is the freezer and the shelves still working well for you?
You suck!! No helpful!
I watched your video with the BFG. What are your settings for the auger? I can’t seem to get as much smoke as you do. I’ve tried A lot of pellets
I have the rt 700 and I use tin foil on my drip pan, great idea so you don't have to clean the oil pan all the time
Your tin foil doesn't melt?
@@FollowRevolutionNine No sir/ma'am. It works great just want to change it out so this the grease buildup doesn't start a fire if it's over a certain temp
I gained 35 lbs when I quit smoking, never lost it
100% Same issues.
How much smoke is lost through the front lid?
Needed a few more "all right?"s.
Best review I have ever seen!
I say onion, same way lol
Love this channel brother
Just curious, do you still use the Smoke Daddy? Any issues with it? I just received one and the output tube keeps getting clogged after one use. Thinking about sending it back.
Yes I do, I moved the BFG to my mom’s house. I have the opportunity to cook for more people there. The smoke daddy is an awesome device.
Found it!
Glad you were able to find it! Hope you enjoy! 😊
Hello. I know im 2years late but just came across your vid and just bought my own. I also ordered a extra rac to add in but the claim not to sell the slides. Did you get them from them or somewhere else?
The slides will already be installed in the grill when you get it.
I have a Smokai cold smoke generator installed on my Treger r Ironwood 885. The Traeger burned pellets a little too efficiently, thus not making much smoke. I have the 2 liter version of the Smokai, which provides me with 6 - 12 hours of smoke, depending on what I'm burning in it and how much smoke I'm pushing. This kind of setup will allow you to smoke something at 400 degrees and throw a lot of smoke at it. One problem I've had, was that some woods, especially cherry, get sticky and gummy when slowly burned, which can create a bridge internal to the smoke generator, which can hinder new chips falling into the burn chamber of the smoke generator. What I did, was clamp a mechanical vibratir to the smoke generator, and built some electronics to give the smoke generator a. Bit of a shake at a duration and interval I program. No more internal bridging that I would have to rend to way to often. All the parts to do this are available on Amazon, and I can post more info somewhere if anyone is interested,
That sounds like a great work around! Glad it’s working out for you!
I a smokai hooked to a cold smoke house, I love the cold smoked bacon etc. I was gonna hook it to my traeger but was wondering how you like the taste of the extra smoke on ribs or brisket etc.
Did you sell your BFG?
No sir, it’s at my mom’s house. I cook for more people there.
