Wow! What a great review! I trusted your silverbac reviews and especially the 2nd year review and got the silverbac. Had it for about a month and could not be happier. Now you came out with this? Christmas is coming early Virginia!. Sandy, I don't know what you do for a living but you sure can review a product better than anyone I have seen. Thanks for the reviews and I'm sure I won't be disappointed when I get my chimp to go along side my silverbac!

ive watched this video before Sandy, but now that i'm in the market for a tailgater, i watched it again. i researched the grills you did plus the pit boss tailgater. I think build quality goes to rec tec and grilla. But for a few hundred bucks more than the cheaper models, i decided on the chimp. ( cheaper than trailblazer and love the dual controller ) I researched for two months now and watched tons of vids so it not an impromptu purchase. Great review

You just about sold me on this, was looking at the Camp Chef 24 and adding the sear box. I know people put the sear box on Treagers and other grills, but with the exhaust is on the side of the Chimp doing that would probably be a real bad idea. Love everything else about this though, probably #1 on my list now. Thank you for going over everything. Question for you, Grilla sells a bold on vent that exhausts the smoke upwards. In your opinion if somebody removed the right handle, put the vent on. Would you be able to attach a CC Sear box?

Looking to purchase my first pellet grill and it is mainly for 2 people - what fits on the chimp? Is it to small? Thanks for the great video
Would you recommend this as a general pellet grill for the home, making briskets, wings, etc. I'm considering it as I'd like the flexibility of tailgating or storing in my garage.
Great review and a really nice grill. I really enjoy your videos, Sandy. The PID is also good if you've wrapped your ribs, brisket or butt.

Just got my silverbac assembled. I have a large gap at the top where the top of the cook chamber meets the lid. Is that normal?
Is it possible to extend the second level with another half grate or even remove the original half grate and replace it with a second full grate?
You mentioned baking cakes or pizza in pellet smokers. Is there a way to use them without pellets to just bake let’s eat a cake outside at 350 degrees?
Do you think this could work as a family smoker/grill for a family of 4, with occasionally 6 people? Having a hard time convincing myself to buy the bigger one for $270 more with the Alpha if everything buy size is the same. I think you've helped sell me on Grilla though. Thank You.

@hazman440 - That’s a really good question to ask about all of these small, portable models.
For what it’s worth, I read a user complaint online about the Green Mountain Grills Davy Crockett portable - which is specifically marketed to “tailgaters” - that the heat from the legs of the grill melted his truck bed liner. LOL. If you look at the GMG website, you’ll see the following cautionary note:
“*Always use the portable grill on a non-combustible surface. Always put a heatproof barrier between the grill and a truck bed or table or other support.”
