Quality, size and option to go portable is what I was looking for and Gorilla Grils delivered the entire package!
I went with the Chimp after a bunch of research due the overall better quality build and still affording the option of portability when I wanted... I use it my primary grill on the back porch 90% of the time and take it with me to deer camp or on family camping trips when the opportunity comes. Its been perfect for my intended uses.. The size has been more than adequate for us (family of 4).

I have used a Traeger big tex for about 11 years and a Tailgater for 3 years. I thought I would never change. I bought a Silverback alpha and I was so impressed I just replaced my Tailgater with a Chimp. Literaly everything I wished that Traeger would improve on in their grill has been addressed in the Grilla Grills. Good Job building an awesome grill guys.

I've said it before, you cannot get a better built or performing pellet grill for the money than a Grilla! The best bang for your buck PERIOD!

I’ve been looking at the Traeger model for a couple of months now. My brother in law is a Grilla owner and keeps telling me to buy one, then he sent me this video.
I’m sold! The Chimp is a far superior product when side by side compared to the Tailgater.

I been using the Grilla Grills Silverback for 3 years now & it is a beast of a grill. The best grill I have ever used. Everyone that checks it wants one. Best grill out there for the money.
I would love to see a video like this for each competitors top of the line models.
Have several pellet grills/smokers and love build quality of my Silverbac. I did upgrade to the Alpha controller and it is rock solid. I use it more than any grill I have to date. I think now soon a Chimp will be my next purchase.

Have it and it cooked a tri tip in 15 degree weather last weekend. Performs great in colder temps. I’ll put it to the test in January in Mn and report back.

I’ve taken the longest time to settle on this smoker. I think it’s the best quality in size & price. It’ll go perfect with my Blackstone griddle.

My husband did the research, asked me what I needed, what would work for me, what features I could and couldn’t live with, then ordered me the Chimp two days ago. After watching lots of grilla grill chimp videos online and seeing the traeger in the store I think my man did me right with the chimp.

How do you dump out the pellets from the hopper if you want to? Is there a trap door to dump them into a bucket if I want to store the grill without pellets or if I want to change the pellet type for a different wood flavor.

I have had one a few months now. I am very happy with it. I use my stick burner as a smoker and my chimp as a grill. It does a really good grilling steaks and the time spent cleaning up is next to nothing . I highly recommend this product

What are the dimensions on these units when legs are folded up? And what are the dimensions of the main grill grate?
I don’t know about the grilla but the traeger is not really a smoker , it’s more of an inefficient stove with a shot of smoke about once an hour.
Build time I'll take with a grain of salt since you've worked on Grilla Grills for a living so it'll be easier for you to build. Everything else very informative.
How is the searing capability? These smoker grill combos seem to lack for searing. True or False?

I have a lil tex treager and it doesn't do searing very well..this one is far superior and it probably can do it fine

No it does not
If you were to run it off a battery pack how big would you need for say 4 hours cooking
Power draw is minimal once the igniter turns off. You can get up to 10 hours off one the size we had. 266wh was the one in the video.
I live in Denmark. We are the country with most grills per capita outside us as to my knowledge. But unfortunently there is no imports of grilla grills here. Its a pitty. The grills look very good and well constructed. and i am looking for something similar to the Grilla Grills Chimp. Will have to go for Pit boss as it seems this is the only alternative in Europe.....

Sorry Anker, right now we are a growing family business. We hope one day to be able to ship around the world, but right now we don't have the ability to. We have had people get their grill shipped to a freight distributor before in order to get the grills outside the U.S. but that isn't something we can offer in house. Sorry for the inconvenience.

@@SteveShin85 I am torn ... the side vent on the chimp gives me a better placement option under my patio. The only thing I haven't seen is the temp in the chimp ... the recteq temp seems to be spot on.
Also the sear grates option for recteq is cool not sure if Chimp has that option.
You can tell I have been 2am youtube deep diving. ha
I'm trying to decide between them as well. From my internet research they both seem awesome I can't find any complaints about either model.

when traeger came out they were the leader runnin' fast, but the team at grilla came out with a product that stomped all over the; what was the leader..... they just did all the corrections and made the build quality much much better, not a hard thing just something all the others DON'T!!! 🤠

How easy is it to swap out the pellets?
Super easy. You just lift up a lid and pour them in!

I'm sold but just two questions....
Is there any place where I can attach a chain to lock this to the back of my truck to prevent theft?
What are the power requirements to make this truly portable? My main gripe about the Traeger Tailgater model is that it's not practical for tailgating because it requires 110v AC power.
stylac Same question here. I have a 23 year old “Nomad” pellet grill that is capable of running off a car battery or a Makita tool battery. The company is out of business, but I’m surprised that nobody else has followed suit. The grill is pretty basic, but gets the job done.
It does require 120v, standard 3-prong connection. Do an online search for "portable power station" and you should be able to find one that will work with your Chimp.
The chain lock would be up to your discretion.

Definitely, I cook for 4 on a regular basis with room to spare.
