I appreciate your review. This was going to be my next purchase. As the stock seat just sucks after an hour of riding. And wasn't sure about the differences in the ergo seat. I'm also 6'2. I think I'll be ordering the tall ergo seat as well.

i just got mine a few weeks ago... and there's no comfort on the stock seat. it defenitly need to be replaced with a ergo seat. i will order one for sure
Thanks for the info, the stock seat is as hard as a brick. BTW, I could not find the tank bag from your review on SW Motech's site. Any clue for me to look for it?
It appears that sw-motech may have discontinued that model (engage) and have replaced it with the “Pro Engage”. If you dig deep enough, you might find a reseller that still has the original in stock” 🤞 - good luck!
I was going to get gel insert, do you recommend the hefty seat as an option instead? I have the 790. I have history of herniated discs. I can ride my Duc 1098 all day as my tailbone doesn't get pounded with the forward leaning position. I need to get a soft seat with great shock absorption for the 790
I find the touring seat to be comfortable for long rides for me, however, everyone is different and the gel insert might give it a bit more cushioning. You could also lower the handlebars a bit to take some pressure off your back as well perhaps. 🙂
WE ARE NOT ALL 6 FOOT PLUS some of us are 5ft 4 inches 820mm is tooooo high for me drop it by 20mm would bring the seat height to 800 mm will be lower than my mt-07 by 5mm
hm debating to get the regular height powerparts seat or the +20 one with a 30 inch inseam not the tallest person in the world but how did you like the higher seat with your travels ?
Hi! That would totally depend on the person. I did not lift my handlebars at all, and I find it quite comfortable. The thicker seat is a little higher, but theoretically, I believe you’re supposed to sink into it a little bit more, so you’re probably not sitting up a whole lot higher (once you break the seat in).
So far so good! Tbh I haven’t put a whole lotta miles on it yet since I put the new seat as I’m still prepping it for the big trip coming up in a few weeks. I will definitely be doing live video updates as well as review vids on the way to the Arctic Circle giving my feedback on the various components I have added! 👍

Yes I find it quite comfortable for what it is (it’s not Gold Wing comfortable 😅)

I’m fairly tall at 6’2”, and I really enjoyed the extra padding on the seat for long riding. The additional height did not bother me at all.
Would you recommend a small bar riser to match the thick boi seat?

Hi! It’s actually the 890, and I’m around the 35,000km mark (close to 22k miles) :)
Is there a pillion ergo seat available as well?

Yes, they actually make a few pillion race covers, as well as an “ergo” upgrade as well!
