If no one has noticed it by now, RJ’s mics pic up sound very badly. You can hear it in his voice when he’s talking and when the bike is barely being revved it crackles etc. Not hating on him at all, but this is definitely not what stock sounds like in person
Recn12 ever noticed thats edited? The mic actually picks up his voice very good, but if hes just saying 'hey' or something short he wont make the audio "clearer", but if hes having a chat with a bus driver he will and youll understand him just fine

Great bike. Had road racing bikes for years but now on my 3rd KTM. Can't take the smile off my face every time I go out. Had Wings superflow on my last 690 prestige & just about to order new one for my 790. There quality is for me is even better than an Akra. B roads the best.👍🏍

What would you guys pick between Ducati Monster 821 and KTM 790 if both would cost the same?
I come from a SMR450 so I like the KTM more than the Monster.
If both would have the same weight and electronics, I would get the Monster, but the sweet electronics (Supermoto mode) I get from the 790, make the Duke a no brainer.
I am waiting for your opinions.

So given this bike's CC class, how would you say it compares to say a 675 or a 765 Street Triple?

I have a doubt,I have never used the quick shifter,my doubt while shifting from 1st gear to 2nd does it hit neutral by false or is thr any electronic that skips neutral when using quick shifter?
as long as you do the full click its like normal shifting id say
It wont hit neutral if you click up properly, at least doesn't on my mt09. It'll just be jerky
The KTM QSes are excellent, shift normally and properly and you will have no issue (as others have said).

Quite surprised that there isn't much impact from wind at high speeds. There's nothing there to protect/ divert he wind so I thought you'd get the full brunt of it.
The only thing I regret about these types of videos from you is that I can only drive one at a time.
I'll stick to my NC700 for a few more years until I can move up to something bigger.

Nice bike. Lots of pixellating on the video though. Don't know whether it's the camera itself or the effect of the vibrations from the bike that are causing it.

Too bad it has no hydraulic clutch. A few weeks ago I spotted the first 790 my previous KTM dealer had sold in Belgium on the side of the road with clutch issues. I emailed that dealer to ask if all went fine e few days later, and the 790's clutch cable got loose apparently. Simple issue, simple fix, but it didn't feel loose when I pulled the lever and blocked the clutch joint. My current dealer told me this weekend, KTM did send out an email to it's dealer network that some of the 790's shipped initially had the bolts on that cable not fastened tight enough. Lessons learned: stick with a hydraulic clutch KTM, the 690 has it, why oh why did they use that again, cost savings ?

I noticed in your commute video you said it wants to go, but what do you think about for a town that doesn't really have much traffic? I had been considering things like the FZ-09 or S1000R but kinda like the small nimble of this bike and the all black is nice(though I do like the wheel colors on the FZ-09 blue)
Btw does anyone else notice some bitrate drops from time to time in the video or is it because I watch this on 720p on my phone?

Any ideas on what the bike could make power wise with the emissions junk taken off and a good tune and exhaust? I'm guestimating somewhere in the 115-120 range and likewise a nice 7-10 ft lbs of torque increase.
Depends on how much it does as standard, I'm guessing 100 RWBHP, so 110 is achievable, certainly not 120.
is that the stock exhaust or you changed it?
God I don't like that seat. nor the overall look but thats just me being a Honda boy. Do like the features of the bike, what it comes with and the engine. Thats all really nice.

I know it's only a 125 but if you ride sporty, I think you'll like the YZF R125 more because of the rev range, the ktm 125 has an early rev limit, it's still as good as any other 125. It's just something you should consider. I own the Honda CBR125R and it's great in corners, I am as fast or even faster as my mates on their 600's and 1000's in tight corners. I just gets boring after 1 year...
