I've used this video twice to replace the battery on my key fob. Super simple, super helpful! Thanks!
Glad it helped!
I am going to say that the 4 thumbs down come from Chrysler dealers who don't want you sharing this so they can charge $80 to do it for you.
Ha! Thanks for stopping in and hope it helped you out
I must agree!
Straight forward, easy to follow instructions. Thank you
👍
Thanks, great video, also showed a clean Key Fob, I took time to clean the case with rubbing alcohol and a soft cloth. I liked the fact that you showed the case and that the circuit board came out as it made it a lot easier to reassemble in the way you demonstrated. Great video - procedure very well explained.
Thank you so much! You made it so easy!
Glad it helped
Strait forward, no shaky cam bullshit. Right to it. How tutorials should be.
Thanks!
Note: You can also use the removed key on that point to separate the key fob; you don't need a separate screwdriver.
You can just pry it apart with your hands
Help! I locked my key fob in van and my spare key fob is dead....so I slid out the hidden key....tried to unlock it on driver's side key hole and it won't open? Key slides in key hole but doesn't turn
Wtf? I'm so frustrated
Thanks a lot for the tip. Helped my out today!
Glad it helped!
quick, clear, to the point. thank you!
and i now realize my fob doesn't have the actual key.. i kept thinking the little switch was supposed to let you swivel the top or slide it off or something >
Lol. My battery quit working yesterday in the walmart parking lot and hubby didn’t have his cell phone to come and pick me up. I called the tow company. The fellow comes and says you can always just use the key and pulls the key out of the little fob. Lol. Never even knew there was a key. Thanks for showing us how to fix this ourselves!
Glad it helped!
Same thing happened to me. 😂
I just found out that I had a key as well😅!
So glad I came to TH-cam for this. My key battery was low for so long, and was worried I’d have to find a Chrysler dealer to get my Town & Country key fob fixed. You’re a life saver!!! 🙏
Glad it was helpful 😁
Same here I imagine a dealer would charge an arm and a leg for this. Thank you!
@@FourFish47 Certainly a lot more than a 6 pack of Amazon or from the local store!
This was enormously helpful. Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
THANK YOU!!!
No problem
Thanks Key Fob Rob, you saved the day.
I have a question . Will the emergency key work in the ignition to start the van? I am a great grandmother having problems with windows going up and down, door locks doing the same and hazard lights coming on when I leave my van. I think it is associated with key fob .. so can I use emergency key inside fob to start it? I don't want to put it in ignition without someone having knowledge I won't make it worse!
The emergency key in the key fob is to open the doors only. Do you have push button start? If so, you just have to remove the the push button start from the ignition and you can put in the top of the key fob (where is says panic) right into the ignition and turn to start the van. At least that what I had to do when my battery in my key fob died.
Thank you for making it short and to the point👍🏻
No problem 👍
Would have been a very boring 13 min video otherwise
Thanks for the video! I was able to change the battery, and I didn’t have to wait an eternity for my husband to do it! 😊
Ha! Glad you could get it sorted out
Very informative, thanks
Very helpful, thank you
Glad it was helpful!
Appreciate it man, the buttons were so sticky so i had to open the fob to clean it and now it works perfectly again
No problem 👍
Thank you so much. God bless you.
Same to you!
Thank you for your information, it was extremely helpful.
No problem. Glad it was helpful
THanks....helped me out. For some reason it wasn't as easy to pry it apart for me and the rubber part stayed in the upper housing. Weird. But then again, there was a bunch of gunk all around the join. Is this the first time this would have been changed? I've owned it going on 3 years. I guess the OEM battery lasts 5 years? Seems longer than normal. But thanks, this is why YT is great. Anything you would like to see somebody do but you're not quite sure how to go about it, just look it up.
Yup! It's always a lot easier when you see a little demonstration first. Glad I could help you out. 👍
Why doesn’t the actual key not work for when the car battery dies?
Car battery died in the summer and I had to play around with the key to unlock the driver side door to pop up the hood to jumpstart it
Thanks! Just replaced both batteries for moms van
Glad I could help
This couldn’t have been easier! Worked like a charm and I’m no longer struggling with the door to unlock it!! Thanks!!
Thank you!
You're welcome!
Thank you!!!

does the key fob need to be reset after a battery change?
No it does not
thank u!
No problem!
Does it need to be reprogrammed after you remove the battery.
I have one fob where after the battery replacement the van tries to lock itself over and over. Everything looks aligned correctly. After another disassembly and reassembly the problem is less severe but still present. Any ideas?
Great instructions! first battery didn't work - dead - second younger battery did it! I LOVE YT and DYI and YOU1
Nice! Glad the video could help
Followed instructions and put all new battery. Doesn’t work. I must’ve missed a step. 🤷🏻♂️
Thank you! You made it quick and easy.
No problem 😊
Really hoping for a response here. Although its not really probable, I bough the batteries and now the key fob doesn't work? Do I have to start jt with the key first??
It should just be a swap and go. Are the batteries installed correctly?
Wow!! Thabks
No problem!
Sweet and short video going straight to the point. Love it. Thank you.
Glad it helped!
You are awesome. No bullshit, just how to do the thing. Thanks so much!!!

Thank you so much for this video. I did it😊❤️
Great job!
I drop my keys on the floor and now the keys keep turning on and off my van and locking and unlocking the van it won't stop. Please help
Did it stop? I'd say just take the battery out.
After we change the battery does the key need to be reconfigured to the car by Chrysler?
Nope
@@KeyFobRobthank you I appreciate you!
Fast and concise. Thanks .
Glad it helped
Do you need to reprogram the key fob?
2032 + side down
Yup
Dollar store has the best deal for the 2032 batteries. 3 for $1.25
Thanks for the tip
Thank you.
You're welcome!
I replaced the battery but the buttons won't operate the unlock and auto doors! What do I do?
Same
Same here. Tried 4 new batteries. 1 new battery made a slight "glitchy honk" when tried keyless entry, but didnt work after that. I'm guessing there is some other programming step when replacing the battery but haven't learned that yet in 6 videos I've seen
Thank you
You're welcome
Thanks!
Glad it helped!
Does it need to be programmed after a battery removal?
No it doesn't
Thank you for this video.
Glad it was helpful!
Ty!!
Glad it was helpful
THANK YOU! Perfect.
Glad it helped!
Thanks for the link, but I did get the Energizer batteries from Amazon. I have changed these before, as I have two of these vans, but you forget. The Owners Manuel was no help. For the 2009 it did say take a small screw driver to slot, but it did not mention to remove the key from the fob. The 2019 had nothing in the book. We traded in a 2007 for a 2019, since CP is no longer making these vans. Pacifica is too small. My original 1987 Voyager got 285,000 miles, looked new at 20 years and was sold on the Use car lot. It never broke down, as neither did my 1988 Cutlass Supreme also 20 years and 285,000 miles. That car looked new. I use Zeibart. The 2009 only has 103,000 miles and looks new. I learned alot in working at a Ford Dealership in the early 70s in high school. I know the time and mileage when to do the right things. I could give lectures, as I am no mechanic! Anyway, thanks again, for taking your time in making these videos. TH-cam is a great tool. Best Mike
Thank You!!
