Welcome back to Roads Untraveled! This week on the show we went on down to the great state of Georgia to meet up with the guys at Royalty Performance. They've been hard at work on this customer's car, a 600+ WHP (700+ HP at the crank) supercharged Nissan Nismo 370Z. It's currently running on a highly modified Stillen supercharger kit, with one of the most notable custom pieces being a billet wheel in the housing itself, as well as a much smaller billet pulley. Took them long enough. I'm not sure what made it a top 10 engine for like 9 years straight with all those piston ring oil consumption issues. Vq35 reference

Ian Sever if you bring it to a track, yea, it definitely wont feel that fast compared to other cars but on the street, its plentiful quick.

@@riveraturboYou bought the right kit! I am building mine this month. AAM twin turbo stg2 with CJM fuel return and idx1050's. Will also run ecutek (tune by specialtyz). I'll be shooting for 520whp/430wtq on a max of 12 pounds of boost. Not looking for major numbers because stock block.

That's a beautiful machine! I'm a huge fan of Nismo 370's. Also, while I was watching, I thought the area looked really familiar. When you drive across the dam, you were maybe about 10 miles from my house! I'm glad you enjoyed your trip here. Just be happy you didn't try to drive that thing on 400 during the week!! Southern hospitality goes out the window around here in commuter traffic!

The fact that the 370Z can easily handle 700HP on stock internals and transmission show that this car was designed to handle a lot more power than factory. I truly believe that they went NA to not effected GTR sales.

There are other cars running close to 700hp at the wheel using a modified Stillen A2A kit. So, this is no where near the highest hp supercharged kit.
Yeah I saw one on yt that had 900 hp.

This is a VERY clean and practical build! OBVIOUSLY a lot of engineering went into being able to take the aftermarket kit, build proprietary parts to seamlessly and more importantly efficiently, RELIABLY and REPEATEDLY work! I am super impressed that there are so many OEM components still being utilized in the build and it's not obnoxiously loud, and by all outward appearances, seems stock. This Team did a SPECTACULAR build job!

I been owning a stock nismo 370z for 7 months now and all I can say is I am now saving up for this supercharger kit xD
Please ignore the people with zero car knowledge saying these cars will not last past a given number of miles. These cars are extremely reliable and have been proven time and time again to handle a ton of power responsibly. Sure, it’s smart to upgrade high wear components of the engine, but it’s not absolutely necessary. The N54 for example handles tons of power even though the stock levels are much lower. 370z🤙🏻

If you do an EcuTek tune, the traction control can be adjusted.
is this on E85 or pump 93? would LOVE to see a dyno chart!
there is no way this thing is making 700 hp on 93 octane. its gotta be tuned on e85. 700 hp still feels like a stretch even on e85. fast car nontheless.
My sc Z is making 656whp on e85 so it's not a stretch at all.

Nice ,i have also an 370Z with Stillen Supercharger, double clushe, Remus Exaust,,Pirelli Z1 Tyres, he drives on 102 octane on the German autobahn unlimited speed drove allready 272 km on the gps. Now i drive an 370 Nismo but problems with my ecu flashing.

Review freshkicks 350z Nismo single turbo
Since everybody everybody wants to get technical, let me make something clear. If anybody modifies a car without supporting modifications, is asking for a 3,000lbs paper weight. I researched the VQ37HR engine. Other comments stated the vr38 engine has a similar bottom end to the VQ37HR. Obviously, this engine can handle boost. You can't expect a car build for 350hp, to handle 700 crank hp to be reliable for 50,000+ miles without major issues. End of discussion. Plus, I like the Z on this video.
It's torque that kills the VQ37HR - the amount of work the engine produces, not the necessarily the speed of the engine. I agree that taking it over 500 lbs of torque is asking for trouble. But 550 wheel horsepower with 450 lbs of wheel torque is the sweet spot.
That 3rd gear 4th gear pull did not look like 600hp
its not a turbo. its a centrifugal supercharger. When the RPM climbs, so does boost. 603whp is at redline. its not always at peak boost. thats why centrifugal superchargers are a safe bet on the internals (most times). its not always on max boost.
PiterStreak I get it however the point is that looked more liked 400ish. 600hp is crazy time especially in a 370z

@Anthony Smith Turbos don't get max boost only at max RPM..it gets max desired boost when it has sufficient exhaust gas, wich can be through a broad RPM range. More 'power under the curve ''

We were also tuned by Harry Aka Z-Tuner in Bradenton FL
12 psi, but look at the size of the blower. Lots of volume of air being pushed.
Z only needs Oil Cooler, Wavetrac 1.5, 3.9 final drive and Potenza RE71R tires.
I'm so torn between building the vq or stuffing an ls in my G35. Traction control is a pain in the ass. It's never truly off and tries to determine how you drive
There’s a guy who modified a vortech supercharger off a 350z the old aa one, and modified it and put a bigger blower on it basically a pro charger, onto his q50 and swapped the trans to manual and he’s pushing over 800whp

Great review! I want it! I have a 2004 350 roaster, obtained this last Sept. Its a keeper. So I found my fandom of this series. Questions. Does the rear wing obstruct the visibility out of the rear window? Does this have to be custom ordered? Through the dealership or Royalty? Do you have to buy the base Nismo then take it to royalty? Oh, and will it go toe to toe with a Corvette?Are these available through my local dealership? Lastly, I'm so glad you enjoyed our southern hospitality . I'm a couple states over in SC. lol For that year NISMO 370z, the seats are practically the same as the base model Z, just with added stitching. In the 14 and up NISMO Z, they actually upgraded the seats to lighter Recaro racing seats that fit you well.
PR1NCETD0T this is the 2014 nismo. Recaro seats goes with 2015 or up.

Stillens kit made 400 wheel at 11psi, so you’re telling me that with just a billet wheel, a new billet pulley, and 1 more pound of boost takes the kit from 400 to 600wheel......seems legit
Stolen Kit is air to water. You have to get rid of that crap in favor of an air to air intercooler. More and cooler air is the trick.
And Stillen kits are at about 6.5 psi, not 11.
Don't let peak horse power fool you. The area under the curve is what matters.
Agreed. That's why TT is better for the power curve, but supercharging is more practical and safer for the engine.

This isn't the world first.... there are 2 other people I know running 650 whp and 620 whp NOT HP super charged 370z. Side note, my Z makes 623 whp on twin turbo

Love this car. To me it’s meant to be tuned. From factory it’s not the fastest thing but the reason I got mine was to boost it. Supercharges make it feel NA so that’s not for me.

My buddy pushed 800whp on his rear mouth tt kit on his nismo 370 for 2 years on stock motor,trans,etc. til he decided to up the boost and blew it.

You can get over 1000 horse power with theses engines but there's parts you have to upgrade same with the 350z
C'mon Nissan, lets see a new boosted Z already. Seeing a 400~450hp Z would easily compete with the Mustang GT/Camaro SS. And don't start saying stuff like "oh it would cost an extra 5~8 thousand dollars, it would be too expensive!" Uh... that would put it inline with the price range of the Mustang GT(~$36K) and Camaro SS (~$38K) so price isn't an issue.

Y’all must not have been paying attention to anything SOHO Motorsports has been doing over the years to post this video with the title you used.
We drove this car 3 years ago. I'm not familiar with SOHO Motorsports, looks like they've been building supercharged 370zs for around the same amount of time though! Were likely neck and neck to get their respective 600HP+ SC cars on the market. I'll have to dive more into what they're about.
It will be interesting to see how long the stock internals will last pushing that much hp. So impressive.
