  • 10 things you can expect in your first year of riding when you decide to start on a sport bike... This was a quick video from the top of my head so I hope you enjoy it! The sun came out FINALLY and I had to take advantage of it and film a quick video!! I managed to get 2 filmed and another yesterday so have another 2 ready to edit... Stay tuned for a lot more content coming up! Im always active out and about riding on my 2008 Kawasaki Ninja ZX6R having fun thinking of videos to film next so any ideas or topics you want me to cover leave a comment down below! If you want to get to know me better go back to my first video where you can see where I first got this bike. MY FIRST MOTORCYCLE and that was why I decided to try this youtube things to document my journey as I saw a lot of people talking about weather or not you should start on a 600cc motorcycle so you can see my journey all the way up till now and how I have progressed through all the motovlogs I have done... I started on a 600cc 08 R6 and its the best thing ever. Im a well disciplined rider and know my limits and therefore its amazing. having 60hp under 8k rpm allows me to get out and maneuver around anything with ease. Im taking it slow and its fun AF. As long as you stay within your limits and under 8k rpm the bike is like an R7

      all it takes is self control, really. if you can control yourself on a 600cc its not a problem

  • @ssbagley

    Far too many apprehensions about starting on 600 bike. A 125 can go too fast and go into a corner too hot. It's a lot more about rider attitude and the application of themselves whilst riding than the size of the bike. No one forces you to open the throttle and trail brake around bends etc. Here in the UK you do your tests on a 600, go figure!!!!

  • @Unfinished_Thoughts
    @Unfinished_Thoughts 3 ปีที่แล้ว +16

    This video is quite honest and accurate. The idea of starting on smaller than 600’s bikes comes from the manufacturers and the reason for this is that they want for you to have bought at least three bikes before you buy the 600. That way they keep you purchasing their final products in addition to parts and service. Even riders that have started from smaller bikes 125,250,300,400 still need some time to adapt to the bigger more powerful bike platform.

    • @TARZANMotoVlogs
      @TARZANMotoVlogs  3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      I never thought of it from a marketing kind of way from the manufacturers, I feel like it can definalty limit your ability to learn fast and build confidence as they are definalty harder to ride and very intimidating but long as you got the patience and self control not to rip the throttle cause the things literally like a devil in your ear haha if it could speak the only word it would say is 'go' and it would say it all day haha supers are so much fun! thanks for watching the video and leaving a comment i apprictae it👊👊

      @@TARZANMotoVlogs It is true that at some point we can control the 600 optimally without getting in trouble but is also true that even a 400 will require years of practice in the track to actually go at the limit from a competition point of view

    I've never properly ridden a motorbike and have been considering getting a convertible sports car for a while. I love thrilling /scaring myself and the feeling of freedom and being out in the open in good weather. I've trained as a ski instructor and love nothing more than ripping turns down mountains at 50 mph on a pair of wooden sticks. I'm thinking motorbiking could be the closest I can UK on a regular basis. I'm trying to work out if it's what i'm looking for or not.
    The downsides I can see for motorbiking is in one sense you're not as free as in a convertible because you have to wear all of the protective gear - you can't feel the wind in your face and on your body in the same way you can wearing a t-shirt and no hat in a convertible. Covering yourself in a load of thick, heavy, sweaty protective gear on a nice summers day seems to defeat the point in some ways. Maybe you could get some clothing that allows you to still feel the air/wind and an open face helmet?
    On the plus side, they're so much cheaper than a convertible car - so much faster, reviver and noisier than almost any convertible. Maybe a lot of the noise is covered by the helmet though and it obviously won't be 6 cylinder. I love the sound of a high revving engine like a Porsche 991 GT3 that revs to 9000 rpm but that is way out of my price range. You can also lean into which may give a similar thrill to skiing. They're awesome for tight B roads as they're so small and nimble - you don't need to worry if there's enough space when going fast and a car is coming in the other direction. You have many more options to choose your line due to the road space you have. They're so easy to overtake cars due to the size and speed of them. You can filter traffic. You're really exposed and out in the open so it actually may end up feeing way more exciting and free than any convertible despite the protective clothing.
    Just throwing out some of my thoughts based on guesswork. If I get one I think i'll use it more as a fun toy for thrills in good weather.

    • @TARZANMotoVlogs
      @TARZANMotoVlogs  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for commenting man 👊 you can’t compare bikes to cars even convertibles your see if you start riding, the feeling can’t be matched probably better comparing it to flying or something haha
      Check my latest videos with the supermoto, you will see the gear I wear in summer aswell this year I will be wearing armour with Kevlar layer under a t shirt or hoodie and I wear Kevlar trousers with pads in the knees and hips and timberland boots
      Il probably get some Kevlar jeans aswell
      You can definilty feel the air and just dress for the ride and at your own risk, full leathers is obviously best and I would wear this if I was riding crazy, but for wheelies and supermoto rides down back roads il wear armour etc and be a lot more light weight
      Riding isn’t as simple as passing your test tho, it’s a skill that needs to be worked on always and need to continue learning and getting better and practicing skills as much as riding fast looks fun on a sport bike, a naked street bike or supermoto can have just as much fun going at slower speeds and more comfortable and more safe
      The uk roads are just crazy, sport bikes are cool to chill and riding is always personal preference
      But the most fun you will have is when you get most out of your bike. If your on a bike that doesn’t come alive till your breaking speed limits it’s only a certain amount of time you can have fun just cruising before it tempts you into pinning it full throttle and hearing it sing through the power band, which yeh it’s amazing but is it worth it…
      Just have a good look into different bikes and riding styles and think about where you will be spending most time on the road, this will help you choose the right bike for you 👊

      @@TARZANMotoVlogs Thanks for the detailed reply. I think I'll enjoy learning and developing the skills and I totally get that driving something that's too fast to be revved out and fully exploited is going to be quite boring/frustrating. I'm at the age where I can pass and go straight to 600+ cc but maybe that's not a great idea. What are your thoughts on open face helmets? Or riding with the visor open partially or fully? I like cars that can be revved hard, feel fast and sound fast rather than cars that are objectively fast but are so refined and quiet that it just totally lacks any excitement. I imagine 0-60 in 5 seconds on a motorbike feels terrifying to a new rider compared to a car that accelerated at the same rate. Lots more research to do! There's so much choice. As well as twisty B road carving I also love the idea of off-road trail/mountain riding too if there are places you can do that in the UK.

    I just found your channel, and I absolutely love it. I'm a complete newbie with motorcycles (Don't even own one yet), but I'm thinking about getting a 600cc as my first bike (300cc bikes seem boring and I think I'll out grow them very quickly). Your videos have helped me gain the confidence to ride a 600cc! You deserve way more subs than what you have currently!

      Thanks man this means a lot! Yeh well if you never ride before check my first bike upload its when I first got this if you haven't already and you can see what it was like haha its scary your first time and riding position is so aggressive its a lot harder to balance at first and to just control the bike in general, the steering is harder, slow manoeuvres are harder and I thought I wasn't going to be ab le to ride it home hahah but I wouldn't change it at all im so happy with my bike. My advice is get the bike dropped to you if you can and take it slow you will get used to it will just take a bit of time and it very intimidating at first aswel because of how responsive the throttle is! Your have the power of a supercar underneath you lol And shift before 8k revs so you stay out of the power band for the first month till you feel like your ready to experiment with it but take your time don't givee into temptation cause its soooo tempting to just rip the throttle hahah I appreciate you dropping a comment and supporting the channel man, welcome!! Every 600cc bike is different it all depends on the motorcycle. Like for example starting on a Ninja 650 is 100% possible easy to control and maneuver but starting on a ninja zx6 (636) is a complete death trap. Even though they're both 600 cc's they're not making the same horsepower.

      Yeh nice man! After riding for few years I think the grow into it approach is not smart haha but we all do it! BUT with that being said, to make the most out of it, do not stop learning, push to learn more and more, don’t be scared to throw the bike around! Play around, lock the rear wheel, burnout, wheelie, practice slow manoeuvres, ride it like it’s a bmx don’t ride it like a robot 👊 i learned sooo much when I went from this to a mt07 and had so much more fun BUT that’s because I didn’t push myself on the zx6r as much as I should have, but it’s hard because of riding postition etc makes it hard to be comfident, the only US sport bike motovlog get I would recommend is kilacam 👊 he can ride any bike like it’s stolen, he masters his skills at track days, he learned to wheelie PROPERLY, not some messed up power wheelie that gets you or someone else hurt, just be mindful of the content you consume and know there’s a time and place to full send, and you have to improve your skills allllll the time non stop, if you ride with people that look like lion king on the bike, find another group of riders to learn from, not saying don’t ride with the lion king guys if they are friends, just saying, ride with other guys aswell who are good riders so you can learn from and they can help you and give pointers etc,
      Read twist of the wrist 2 & total control
      Only saying all this cause I care especially if you are watching my content aswell 👊 there’s some good European channels like qbenz13 , superbike racer (dont Try ride like him haha) but as far as English, the only good example of a rider who’s very entertaining and passionate about content is kilacam
      I hope all this is helpful to you, sorry for the late reply man please check in and keep me posted any questions you can dm me on Instagram no problem it’s the same as my TH-cam name

      Your be fine if you ride with the RIGHT people, and also go out on yourself a lot to practice EVERYTNING
      600 is no joke it’s easy to get comfy and over confident
      Soon as the power band kicks in if you don’t have good self control then you can get in trouble fast
      Get the practice in and don’t stop trying to learn more and more,
      don’t push limits it’s not worth it, enjoy the bike and enjoy your own ride
      Slow fast doesn’t matter you win nothing and neither does anyone else
      Go into learning with confidence, just keep learning

    you're either competent or not , no difference between 600 , 300 , 1000 crash , if you don't understand physics you're going to die , on 600 at least you'll be more focused and aware so I'd argue you're going to be a safer driver
    besides skill ceiling is much more pronounced so you will be more aware of how physics work since you have more engine to experience physics , if you roll throttle 100% on 300cc you won't learn much , if you roll throttle 100% on 600cc you might slide rear tyre or you might not , and you will get a lot more information on how motorcycles work thats the main difference.
    you can learn a lot more.

    • @TARZANMotoVlogs
      @TARZANMotoVlogs  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      thanks man I appreciate you checking the channel and leaving a comment! Errmmmm weekend fun a super would be fine when you get used to it, will feel real nice round the bends but 4hr run you will definalty proabbly want to stop at least twice for a rest, if you got a naked sport you could probably do the whole run in 1 lol but I would recommend taking a break often anyway no matter what bike your on if your trying to do like you said a 4 hour run around some nice roads, its hard work consantly changing position etc, side to side on the seat, holding yourself up when breaking hard for corners etc
      Alot of people who I meet who have naked sports have said it gets a bit boring and they want supers for their next bike, but then there is me with a super and im currently looking at a z800 or z900... which are naked sport bikes. The reason why I am looking at these, 1. because they look sick haha 2. because I do a lot of just chilling and vlogging so I do ride quite a lot so something more comfotable would be nice change, 3. I think the riding style looks sick if your not some stiffo, 4. THE MAIN REASON why im considering these bikes... because I really enjoy my super and have just started riding twisties and its so fun and I dont want to lose the feel of being on a sport bike going round bends, so all the reviews on these 2 bikes (z800/z900) everyone says they are the heaviest in their catagory and have inline 4s which gives them a feel of a super when riding the bends, apparently has a real sport bike feeling to them which sounds perfect for what im looking for... I havnt managed to take any for a test ride yet, been trying to get hold of a z900 cause they dont make z8s no more but there are no demo bikes available near me right now which sucks. Might be worth taking a look at those bikes tho and going to sit on a z9 and a 636 see what you prefer. z9 is a 950 tho so either take it easy / buy a z8 / or get it restricted. Another bike that is real nice is the Triumph street triple, its a 765cc engine and is rated best in naked catagory by a lot of people, be real easy to handle, comfortable and they are QUIICCKK I rode with one the other day lol with allll that being said, my next bike is between the 2014 636 or the z800/900, hope this helped haha
      I will be testing a MT07 09 and 10 soon + a 2020 zx6r, a 2020 r6 and whatever else I can get my hands on lol

      These bikes are very hard to learn on and very intimidating at first, got to be careful with the throttle and they are difficult to manoeuvre when your going slow... but if your a fast learner and confident in yourself then you should be good! Just take it slow, stay away from the powerband for at least 8-12 weeks and practice riding everyday if you can don’t try and keep up with anyone just ride slow these bikes can put down so much power so fast and you can get into a bad situation if you don’t respect it, let me know if you do get one! • @TARZANMotoVlogs
      @TARZANMotoVlogs  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Everyone who rides have at least one minor fall or drop the bike it just happens but starting in this you just increase the chances of that happening cause of the unnatural aggressive riding position and power available, but if you take it slow and practice and don’t get a ahead of yourself then course you can!👊
      After riding for a couple years now if i was to give someone advice on a good first bike that wants power etc I would say the mt07 - good for money, comfortable so can get plenty of seat time, feels natural, easy to learn and confidence inspiring, handles in the twisties and so good day to day round town etc put a akrapovic system on it and it sounds mental lol
      But with that being said, if it was mean telling my past self this advice, my past self wouldn’t listen at all and would just get the super haha
      The mt07 is moreeee than fast enough aswell and be easier to learn wheelies

    • @jjjos
      @jjjos 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TARZANMotoVlogs cheers man, I checked some reviews of the MT07 and I agree that is great advice. But I still feel more inclined to wear some shorts and Nikes and boost around recklessly on the Kawasaki lol, nah I’m kidding a bit, but also not, depends on what you want I guess, that’s why I never got a bike, don’t want to tempt that part of me too much, but I feel the Kawasaki is the way to go.
      Something I’ve wanted to understand a bit more is why do so few riders just ride the bike, in the UK people are so leathered up, obviously it’s sensible, yet in Spain for instance (due to heat presumably) nearly all riders are just in jeans and a t-shirt, that just seems so alluring and cool, free and must be such a buzz, I’m probably out of line here, I appreciate the obvious dangers, but do you get all the martian gear on? is it frowned upon in the bikers community to ride in shorts or am I just sounding like a twat? just seems contradictory, the freedom of a bike and the restrictive apparel. Thanks for the reply and vid mate
