BELGRADE, SERBIA 🇷🇸 How to get the COVID TEST!

  • This is the day of our COVID test in Serbia!
Before arriving in Belgrade, I did some research and found out that the only border crossing we would need a negative COVID test for was between Serbia and Croatia. I found out that you would need to pay for the test at the General Post Office in Belgrade before you headed to the Torlak Virological Institute to get the test. We did this on our first full day in Belgrade. 0:46
Three days later we went to the Torlak Institute in Belgrade with our receipt in hand to receive the test. Unfortunately things did not go as we had planned and we were force to head back to another post office to pay more money, because the first one did not charge us enough! 3:48
Once we got the test, which was nothing more than a slight throat swab, Paige and I returned to the area around the apartment we were staying in Belgrade for the waiting game. We grabbed lunch and then watched some other vlogs at the apartment. 8:21
One of those vlogs directed us to the Museum of Torture Instruments at Kalamegdan. Although it was pouring rain, we decided to walk there from Aleksa's apartment. Once we arrived, well--see for yourself. 9:34
We grabbed dinner at a restaurant called Comunale along the Sava Promende on the Belgrade waterfront and then packed for our journey to Croatia once we received our negative result from the Torlak Institute (about 8 hours after the test). 11:50
This is part thirteen in a series that started with flying from London, so if you missed part one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten, eleven or twelve, be sure to check them out! And as always, thank you for watching!!!

Its because Post office is just a Post office, they are not related to Torlak in any sense. For them it just another payment, as you said guy had to find account on google for the payment and he was probably unaware that foreigners should pay more. You could also pay in any of the commercial banks.

That's actually good information. Probably to pay at a bank, given my location at Kalamegdan would have been a better option, then. Paige was definitely right though, the people inside were so nice and helpful.

@@MrNonrev Yes, you could avoid those lines at least. Anyway hope you enjoyed Serbia, even during winter, when its not that fun, especially with the covid.

How much did you pay for the tests? I'm a foreigner, and I will be traveling out soon!

Hey there! It was nearly $150, but quite simple if you follow the directions (we didn't...). Best of luck!

You did NOT. It was a first come, first serve type of thing. Very simple!

Hey guys, well I have this to look forward to when I leave Belgrade... But I read Croatia is closed from non-EU countries - what's the deal? You're allowed to cross land border from Serbia?

Hey there Kevin! We were allowed to when we went, but as we know it changes weekly, if not daily. The next video posts tomorrow and shows the crossing from the border, which was NOT without issue...

You could pay it in any pay spot in town, exchange office, banks etc,so u could avoid those lines. Its like when you pay your bills or something. Workers in post office are not suposed to know what and how much you need to pay for covid test or anything else. You just give them acount number, amount you want to pay and other info needed on pay form. How do you expect them to know how much you need to pay, for covid test, utillity bill or anithing else. They are just providing you a service of transfering money to an accout you desire. Just like any bank,or other money transfering institution, they are not in any way connected with Torlak institute. So it was your job to check with Torlak institute how much you shoud pay and get their acount number, they are the one "selling" you their service.
Can you go to a post office in USA and give them just your passport and say i need to pay my electric bill, and they know how much you need to pay and how. That is great if it works yhat way.

Thank you, Ezio. I am actually not sure about headed to a post office to pay bills in USA. I have always paid online, or through the mail directly to the Power company. This was definitely something new for me. As far as the COVID Testing, in USA it is free where I have had it done and you simply schedule an appointment. Again, they were extremely helpful and friendly, but with the information I had, it seemed commonplace during pandemic times for them.

@@MrNonrev Covid testing is free here to ( i mean nothing is really free, health insurance covers it) but you have to go at the covid centre, there you are examined buy the doctor, they take your blood for testing, make chest x-ray, mesure oxigen saturation, and do the fast test or PCR test, nothing of that is cheep but is covered buy or health care.
Torlak is testing for comercial pourposes,so just people who need PCR tests for travelling. That is not covered with our health care.So you have to pay for it.I hope it makes sense, why is not free.
