  • Off to Novi Sad, Serbia for the day!
    The weather that we were welcomed to Belgrade with was not fantastic after that first night. Paige and I knew that we wanted to see Novi Sad, so we went there first because the weather was supposed to be a bit better there than in Belgrade.
    From where we were staying in Belgrade (not far from Kalamegdan) the bus station was about a 20 minute walk. From there it’s about an hour and a half ride to Novi Sad. 1:32
    When we got to Novi Sad, Paige and I were starving so we immediately went on Trip Advisor to find out the name of the highest-rated restaurant for lunch, and ended up at “Project 72.” It was outstanding, and the service was amazing-thanks to Slobodon for the great experience! 4:03
    We went from the restaurant to Liberty Square to start our explorations and then from there to Petrovaradin Fortress. The Fortress in Novi Sad is beautifully upkept, however a bit windy on this day! 6:49
    From there we headed to see the Church of St. John the Apostle, when it started to rain again. Not shown in the video, Paige and I took cover in McDonald’s and H and M before we headed back to the bus terminal where I got reprimanded for using a camera. 10:08
    The next day was beautiful and as such we used it to explore Belgrade! Stay tuned for that, next week!
    When we decided to take a month to travel, there were few options for Americans due to the current health situation. Serbia was one of those options, and as my research continued, I stumbled upon Novi Sad on nearly every list of places to see in the Serbia as a highlight of any visit.
    This is part eleven in a series that started with flying from London, so if you missed part one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, or ten, be sure to check them out! And as always, thank you for watching!!!

    Like your humor:). Novi Sad is a beautiful City. But you have to come in summer back again. It will be another pic from Serbia ( Cities and Nature).

      @@MrNonrev Oh no, you visited Novi Sad during the winter and Covid. I agree with Adriana. You have to go back there during the summer, especially the Exit festival, a different city!

    Only mistake you made is that you not visited Sremski Karlovci while in Novi Sad...It is place full of history and officially most beautiful little city in Serbia..No one go to Novi Sad and not visit it..Especially because it is basically part of the city...Maybe 10-15 bus from Novi Sad...And also if you are still in Serbia you should definitely visit SUBOTICA AND SOMBOR...Two most beautiful cities in Serbia....By far

      And most important they are in same area...Maybe half hour driving from each other ...Golubac fortress and Manasija fortress and Zlatibor mountain are also less then hour driving from Belgrade. It is must see when in Serbia...But i think they left Serbia already

    Such a lovely architecture! In your experience, what are the main differences between Serbia and North Macedonia?

    • @MrNonrev
      @MrNonrev  3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      I really loved both places. It's hard to say, but the biggest city that Macedonia gave me was Skopje, and once we got to Belgrade, it was in a league of its own. Belgrade seems the type of place I could spend a lot of time in. The people were great in both locations, as was the food. I think it Serbia the menus were very different from each other, whereas in Macedonia you could expect to find some of the same items on menus (not that that's a bad thing because I did have things I looked forward to finding in Macedonia. :-). Do you have a preference?

      @@martius021 When we returned it was quite late. We picked up the bus from there. I didn't even see the train as an option but I am sure it would have been a nice journey. The bus system was great though (see the video to Berat from Tirana to see what we had to compare it to...). :-)
