Now they sell 12 hole injectors with pigtail adapters! Thanks for taking the time to document this job in detail, I really appreciate it! My 98 GC has a bit of a rough idle, low power and it pings when getting on the gas. Tuneups only help a little. Next stop- injectors, and they might as well be 4-hole.
Just put my Bosch 4 hole rebuilds in my 2000 sport ... and a new Omix oil pressure sensor .... 250K, oil pressure is still 60lbs ... and it ran like a top from first start ... soother idle, better throttle response ..... injectors had never been serviced other than cleaning ... #6 was fried ... rusting out ... but it had not failed ... just took some extra time to thorough clean the fuel rail ports, paint it ... and used silicon plumbers facet grease to keep the O-rings lubed on install ... I got 300k and 20 years out of my last 89 cherokee ... I'd buy another if they still made new ones
Finally, I got ahold of K Suspension and they quoted me a price of $180 for a set of Refurbished injectors (seems awful expensive to me) for my EV1 4 port injectors for my 93' Jeep GC Laredo 4.0. 'Did you get injectors for your 92' Cherokee? Thx much for your time.
I have only one caution -- Don't do this if you live at a higher elevation. I live at 5800 feet and tried 4-hole injectors a few years ago only to have my power bog down, sputter, and die. Went back to the original injectors after a few days and the problem was fixed. The spray was too fine and too lean.
Liked your video here and hoping you could help me here. I own a (FEB)1993 Jeep Grand Cherokee I6 4.0 I would like to upgrade my stock injectors to the 4 hole also. 1.Will I have to change out my "older style connectors" to the modern style connectors" ones now as I have an older jeep? 2. Do I have to do the Computer Relearn also on mine? 3. Did you say those injectors you have are remanufactured ones?
I keep seeing videos about 4 hole an 12 hole which one would you do trying to get rid of the spit an spudder just a daily 2000 jeep cherokee sport thank you in advance
So have you noticed any difference in the fuel economy? Was there any problems with the old injectors or had they been in the Jeep for a long while? I’m needing to replace my injectors and am curious if there is a reason or not to buy these as apposed to stock. Thanks!
I still have to do a follow up video but basically the miles per gallon has remained roughly the same but where I noticed an improvement is in the pick up and the idle. Both are very smooth and I feel that it has better throttle response. For 100 bucks I think having a nice smooth idle and a little better feel in the gas pedal is worth it to me.
I in stalled 4holed injectors in pleased of the single hole. I had a very hard time starting the engine. 2 sets later I had the same problem. Why? Because the injectors were leaking. Bubbles were coming for the injectors. Do I had to replace back the single hole injectors. Started just fine. I have a 318 cu 1999 Durango and a 78 Jeep J10 360. Need some good injectors. I gave 200.00 for these injectors that leaked. Help !!! Pop
I just did the 4 hole injector upgrade and my 1996 jeep cherokee runs like crap. Missing, check engine light. Smells like it's running lean. Any ideas? I know the injectors are working. I can unplug one at a time and each one when unplugged it runs even worse.
Yeah..haven't been able to get that project going. But one day...For now, just swapped out the driveshaft and sent it!..Sorry for not having a video for you guys.
Is there really any value to resetting the PCM? I mean I have actually never heard of this before. I have replaced my o2 sensors before cleared the codes and was off to the races. I am asking because. My deck has a hell of a time reconnecting to my phone if I undo my battery plus I have two batteries and my main one is on the bottom. I found you because I too am having injector issues, and am going to replace them with your suggested injectors, but I really don't want to disconnect my battery. It causes so much more work if it isn't absolutely mandatory. Like I said. i have replaced my 02's and only reset the code and it seems to be fine. That said I think I have a clogged injector, and i am not getting any engine codes. I am only getting surging on the freeway. The only thing left is the actual injectors. They are original and have just a touch under 200K miles. Seriously falls on its face on the freeway. but no check engine light. have replaced the fuel pump (it was actually broken on the bottom) and the distributor for a different reason, but it still surges at 60 on the freeway. The only thing left that could potentially cause an issue with no blown fuses or check engine lights is most likely the injectors in my eyes. if am wrong then will have some updated injectors and can cross that off my list. Thanks for the awesome video. I will have some work to do soon.
@@blizzytaj I actually figured out what the problem was. It is amazing that it didn't throw codes. I did replace the injectors and it does have a touch more power and runs incredibly smoother, but the actual falling on its face and surging on the freeway was a bare exposed wire on the cam sensor. Actually it was all three wires going into the pigtail had no sheathing around them. All three were bare. I wrapped them with electrical tape and it fixed my issue. After all of that it fixed the falling on its face and the surge problem and then I inherited a high idle. I removed the IAC motor and checked it and sure enough no continuity on the outer pins. I replaced that and it fixed the idle issue and now it is all happy again. So you were definitely on the right track.

Not sure about that. I didn't get adapters when I bought my injectors. I'm not 100% sure if they are the same..But I would be willing to guess the 4.0 fuel rail set up is the same for the XJ and ZJ. but don't hold me to it.
