    With the right tools and knowing what to expect the job is very easy. With the wrong tools, it's downright impossible! Hope this helps someone!

    Dude this is the best video on this subject that I’ve ever seen. I’m going out right now to check the front brakes on my 2011 C70 and I know feel pretty darn confident 👍🏻👍🏻

      Glad I could help! BTW... What year Impala SS? I had a 96 for a while! Thought I'd never get rid of it, had my name engraved on the engine!

    Nice, I'm planning upgrading my 2009 C70 brakes and this answer a lot of questions. Retaining original front and rear calipers, replacing rotors and pads. But want to remove the calipers so I can paint them and I'm not sure what to expect for detaching the handbrake from rear calipers. I was on the fence going with slot/drilled rotors but seeing yours convinces me that's the way to go, thanks

      Lucky you got back-plate carrier bolts that are socket ready. Most are Torx or Hex
      Arggggg !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! STRIP BOLT CITY !!!!!!!!

    The torque specs for those carrier bolts is 88ft lbs if using loctite use blue not red

      The tip on the loctite is EXCELLENT! Orange is decent too.

    You didnt even need to split the caliper the two plastic caps on the back cover the slide pins undo them with a 7mm allen key and they come out and then you can remove the caliper and clean up those slide pins too so they dont seize and cause one pad to wear much quicker than the other

    • @ToolDeals
      @ToolDeals  ปีที่แล้ว

      When you pull the caliper off the way i did the pins are still there, they're just sticking out. You lube them up before you slide it back on. Two ways to do it.

    Un doing those Torx screws is completely unnecessary and will be very difficult to do. There’s a reason they are stupid tight and you’re likely to get into all kinds of trouble getting them out. Remove the slider pins and the whole unit will come off without touching them.
