I've watched this company evolve from Moores machine shop in Bear Creek, NC. I went to high school 15 minutes away in Siler City and had a buddy the actually worked for the machine shop and transitioned into the Bear Creek Arsenal branch. It's great to see a small town company creating high quality firearms.

Can I say it's phenomenal that you upload, from what I can tell, daily. And in this current climate that is a feat with a lot of the gun channels being hit and hit hard. However, you are able to survive, Godspeed 704T.

I was a little gun shy about BCA for a while until I decided to throw together an AR-10. I saw the 20 inch .243 Winchester upper figured why not. It sits on a New Frontier Armory billet lower perfectly. I do a lot of hunting and everyone and their grandma has an AR-10 in .308 or 6.5 Creed. Not disappointed. I'm getting 1 MOA or better with standard hunting loads regularly. The end of the day I have an AR-10 that's not like everyone else's, very accurate, and works every time for under $600. Nothing to complain about there.

Got one because I reload for my savage bolt action and have all the fixings for 243. 20in spiral chromed barrel had it two months and I can't wait to see if it's a 3 to 4 hundred yard, ground hog masher. Very clean and fitting is too of the line. God bless you and keep you and yours safe. I have the rear charging handles with forward assist. Mine was 720 and I believe it was worth every penny, bought 3 mags so it was about 600

About 2 months ago, I got a 8.5" .300BO upper w/ right side charge from BCA and paired it with a PSA lower. Slapped an OMEGA 36M can on it and it has performed beautifully. Maybe I just lucked out and got a good one, but I have no complaints after close to 1,000 rounds. Just as a side note, I also got a 2-rifle case from BCA. I love it! If anyone needs a case, don't hesitate.

I'm glad you did this video, I too influence for BCA. Mostly 556 uppers and Glock components like slides etc. That being said the handguard having 8 screws loosen each other gotta tighten like lug nuts. The 20" upper I'm currently running is a .5" gun. It's crazy accurate! I've honestly enjoyed BCA products. But I also understand what it cost and what to expect. Alot of people get bent out of shape about BCA. Some don't know about the gen2 program or was running on non milspec lowers like 3d. It's been a great value with minimal cons for me as far as the 5.56 models and 300 blackout models. I promote BCA, they literally build anything you want, just ask!

I've built 3 AR's with BCA uppers & they've been great. I love the side chargers. Anytime I've ever gotten one, I immediately pull the entire upper receiver apart. Clean it, inspect for anything out of the ordinary & throw it back together. Never once have I had an issue with any of them, all with around 800-1000 rounds through them. All 5.56, but I want to build a .458 Socom next.

Obviously for accuracy. And with my hand loads in 9/16ths to 3/4 groups at 100. I can push mine out to 800 and hit pretty reliable in about a 4/6 inch groups lol depending on the weather.

Just used your code. I use heat resistance blue loctite on their handguards that have the bolts that thread into the barrel nut. And on the gas block set screws. Vibra-tite works great on the charging handle. A lot like standard blue loctite. But you can take the bolt out and reassemble without having to reapply anything. You have to wait ten minutes to let it dry. After that it is good up to five times. The stuff is runny. So store the bottle up right. (I use a old prescription bottle.)And make sure there is nothing on the threads of the bottle. When you shake the tube sometimes it gets into the top of the cap. Clean it out with a q-tip. It is is only heat resistance to 165 degrees. But it threads into the bolt carrier. Doesn’t get as hot as the barrel nut or gas block. I also use it on my scope rings. It’s easier to get my cross hairs perfectly level at the range. You can loosen. Level and retighten. Thanks again for the code.

I believe the color difference between the upper receiver and the hand guard is due to the fact the upper receiver is billet aluminum and the hand guard if forged. I have the 556 16 inch black nitride version and so far for the price, I’m happy with my purchase.

I've got a couple uppers from BCA and a few friends have some as well. All have had no issues other than a few handguards being loose. If anything their quality control is lax. So if you decide on them just make sure to do an inspection and tighten things up. Otherwise they are good to go.

I've had 2 BCA Ar15s I bought from Classic Arms purchsed at the same time, both had issues. The first one had an issue with the trigger releasing, was fixed by working the trigger and action for a few days, I suspect it was a bur on the secondary sear. The other would consistently fail to lock the bolt to the rear after the last shot unless a Tapco or D&H magazines were used. The bolt catch, spring, detent and roll pin were all changed with new parts and that failed to fix the issue. Both BCA rifles are now gone. PSA is my go to now, no issues.

I have 4 of their rifles and their new Grizzly 101 9mm pistol! All are fantastic products. The only two I haven't put 1000 rounds thru are the 12.7x42mm (.50 Beowulf) due to ammo costs, but yes I have two, one is a right side charged (16" barrel) and one is rear charged (18" barrel). But both of those have functioned flawlessly after getting the magazine situation settled down. I love BCA! Their prices and their quality with customer service is outstanding. I highly recommend them if you are on a budget but want to get into shooting with a quality firearm that is made right here in the USA!

I found BCA several yrs ago (5+, iirc) due to reading a forum post on Arfcom about side-charging uppers. Intrigued, I rolled the dice on an unknown (to me) company w/ prices that nearly had me convinced that I was buying hot trash -- Well, I was gladly wrong, & the side-charger plus another complete upper I bought from BCA 6mo later are still running strong. The non side-charger bbl'd upper has over 6500rds down the pipe & is still a rack-grade accurate shooter (~1.5--2.0MOA)...Not great, but certainly not bad, either, especially for a non chrome-lined bbl.

I've only had 2 issues with BCA and it has always been the AR10 uppers. The rear charger was way over gassed and the side charger would always seize up on a live cartridge with all types of loadings. Adjustable gas block fixed the first and I used the side charger as a base for doing a 13.5" pin and weld, the problem did not persist with the new barrel, put the 16" barrel on a different upper with a BCA rear charging BCG and havent had an issue.

I own 2, 7.62x39 complete uppers, a 10.5"and 16", a 20" 416 ss grendel complete upper, , a 22lr complete upper, 2, 300 blkout 16" barrels one in pistol length gas system and the other in carbine length gas system. All of these have proven to be very accurate. All of the complete uppers except the 22lr functioned flawlessly.
One of the problems I encountered was when I decided to interchange my side charging carbine upper receiver with the rear charging pistol upper. Both uppers had handguards that required the barrel nut to be indexed using shims. The 10.5" barrel nut was barely torqued to 25ft/lbs and the 16" barrel nut was somewhere around 100ft/lbs . I thought for sure I was going to crack the upper receiver getting it off. Had to use a 3/4 breaker bar to bust it loose. Clearly whoever assembled these uppers didn't want to take the time to shim them correctly.
Both 300 blkout barrels shot about a 100 rounds each of 110 and 125gr AAC ammo. Bought another batch of AAC ammo and all sorts of cycling issues. Even had two primers blow out of the case. I'm not faulting BCA for that. Think it's more like AAC ammo has crap QC. Although the first thing everybody says it's the BCA barrel. Don't think so.

I have several Bear Creek Arsenal uppers in various calibers. 2 of them came with missing o-rings on the ejector on the bolt, resulting in ejecting problems. My 6.5 Grendel barrel nut came loose, resulting in the rail not lining up with the upper receiver when I re-tightened it, and one bolt, on my 6.5 Grendel, completely breaking at the bolt face. These are all fixable problems, and I guess they are worth it considering the price, but I wouldn’t rely on them in an emergency. I finally saved up and bout a BCM upper, and couldn’t be happier.

I really like my BCA upper with side charging and with the cold hammer forged barrel. My 2 big complaints are 1: The small screw they put where a charging handle normally goes does little to nothing for stopping gas from hitting you in the face. 2: they don't have replacement bolt carries to buy in case something happens and you can't buy just any BCG and put it in. Other than those two things I am pretty happy with my 5.56 upper.

I’m looking at purchasing my first AR-15, and doing all my homework but would like to ask if you would recommend a AR-15 for someone who doesn’t shoot much, will just go to learn and practice but will use for home defense along with other items I have, but maybe 100/200 target practice at the most for now! Would you pleas3 recommend what you would suggest in the Bear Creek AR-15 hoping to keep under 400 in total for entire outfit with maybe a red dot and good scope or whatever they call the other optic magnifier? Appreciate all your help and videos!

Anodization issue is bc the rail is longer and has more surface area than the lower and uppers.
The anodization process uses electricity/amperage that changes with the surface area.
My guess is its a different setup cuz theyre longer or they use the same setup and havent adjusted the amps per square foot to be the same.
This makes changes in the time, hardness, and pourocity of the aluminum handguard vs upper and lower. The different pore size will absorb the black anodizing die differently.
Black is the easiest vs colored.
You can even have color variations within the same piece if its not agitated or things go wrong. Making a a rainbow of blacks and greys or whatever color
Its kind of a fun process.

I buy usually nothing but bear creek uppers. I'm not looking for accuracy I can check the wind and all that crap with. But I have run them on my machinegun lowers and shot thousands of rounds through them and never had any problem I would have with any upper or magazine combo. I never really liked their side chargers though. Bought one and I ended up canibalizing it for parts.

I bought an upper from them. The barrel shoots great with an optic. I wanted to have magpul backup sights on the rail. I could not get it on target with the backup sights. It was shooting very low. I called and told them about it, and sent it back for review. They shot it, and sent back the upper. Still the same at the range with the backup sights. They didn't understand what I was talking about at all. I gave up, and put a 1/4" rail spacer on the upper itself. That did allow the backup sights to zero. It is the rail, and not the barrel. I have thought about stopping in when I go to visit my son, because it is right down the road from his house in NC. Other than that it shoots very nice. It is the older charging handle model.

I hate to have to bring this up, but the one and only BCA barrel i ever bought was a 7.5" 300blk barrel w/a 1:7 twist, but it WILL NOT stabilize subsonic loads. Ive tried 5 different types (190, 208, 200, 220) of ammo from different companies and they all keyhole. That being said, it WILL stabilize 125gr steel case... of all things. It seems to like fast steel case.
This was in 2019 iirc when i bought it, so idk if something changed since then, but it really screwed me up. Ended up buying a PSA upper and it DOES stabilize them all.

i remember that video you made on that 18" SS upper years ago, i commented on how i also was blown away at the quality and value for the price. i have the exact same one on an anderson lower and its been a workhorse. i'm currently in the market for a 16" barrel to have something a bit lighter and more manageable and saw that BCA has a sale on a side charging 16" 223 wylde SS upper and a CHF 556 nitride 16" upper. What would you suggest is a better value? both are within $10 of each other. Just curious to know your thoughts. Great video!

I've got a BCA GPX (side charging piston gun). I also have an extra lower which is one of their forged lowers. The GPX shoots well and has been reliable. The problem is with the fit of the uppers to the lowers on the GPX I have. The fit is literally terrible. I have a full accuwedge and 1/2 an ear plug in the lower in order to stop the extreme wiggle between the receivers. I called numerous times, sent pictures, spoke to customer service and received a replacement lower only to have the same problem. The GPX was available on their site for less than a year so I would guess they only ran 1 lot of them and ceased production. It's a shame as it was inexpensive for a piston upper, accurate, reliable and could have been a great seller if it would fit a lower properly. It really would have been nice in 7.62X39mm but that never happened

This is the kind you throw in your atv or the floorboard and gets beat up without 😢about it. They function and are cheap which makes affordable to upgrade trigger, stock, buffer, and bcg. Slap a cheap dot and magpul flip ups and your good to go for less than 850.00
Doesn’t matter the manufacturer, but you should always check to see everything is tight and in place.

Customer service has to be #1 priority. As long as QC is top notch, they won't have to rely on #1 a bunch.
Don't have any of their products due to their internet reputation, but as long as they continue to improve on the basics, they'll continue to grow.

Thanks for the video! I find both BCA and PSA compelling when it comes to price point and overall quality for price. For me, I think BCA is similar to PSA's early years, not bad, not great but serviceable and functional. As you said, ebbs and flows in quality. I've used both alongside DD and Bravo Company builds...while I currently have no issues using BCA or PSA, I know there are videos out there with different experiences (failures, inconsistent quality...um, questionable employment practices). However, for me, quality wise, I'd say of the DD, Bravo Company, PSA and BCA I've used it beside, it has the least perceivable "quality" of the four. That said, pull trigger go boom just as much as the Bravo and PSA. I'm a recreational shooter though. I don't do hundreds of rounds every range visit. After hundreds, thousands of rounds, will BCA be reliable as higher quality gear? They're videos out there on that, make your own decision, but warranty FTW. I know I haven't experienced a failure yet shooting one. Personally, I'd go PSA over BCA, but I do think BCA is a good (in general) start for someone new without the money to go higher.

My experience with BCA has been mixed. My 7.62x39 upper works great. The .458 socom upper never chambered consistently, they sent me an RMA, I returned it, they emailed me and stated there was nothing wrong with it. I keep it as a reminder not to buy from them again. Some day I'll replace the barrel with something better.

I'm glad you've had a good relationship with BCA. For my part, I was burned by them heavily with my one experience. It was my first build and I was looking forward to a good barrel. The reviews were positive, so I purchased a 16" stainless .223Wylde barrel with spiral fluting. Looked great, but the groupings were terrible at 5-6" at 125 yards. I contacted them and they willingly replaced the barrel, but I had exactly the same experience. I put in a negative review on their website and they immediately took it down, so I saw why their reviews were all positive. 😑 I have since avoided BCA at all costs and have warned away anyone who sought my opinion.

I had a similar experience I bought a complete upper in 450 bushmaster and if you knew what to look for it was rough , the bcg interior that holds the firing pin was rusted and the items had horrible machining like the barrel was very gummed up so after a few good cleanings I could finally see clean rifling through the barrel but even then you could see barrel imperfections with what looked like other metal or pitting with weird marks or crappy metal work it would shot but drove me crazy with the vast imperfections so I sold it

Mine also had several scratches and there appeared to be a sand ( white particles all over). I reload my own ammo. As long as it shoots under an inch group. First thing i will do is replace the trigger. To a single stage 3 pd. I wont shoot steel casing in mine. I am getting a 223. I was looking at the 22 250. BUT they only offer barrel in a 1@14 twist. If it was a 1@9 or 1@10 twist. I would order a 22 250.

I think they also make the parts for Midway's AR-Stoner stuff. The stuff is low end any way you slice it. Like DPMS low end. With that said if it works it works and maybe people on a extra tight budget can get where they are going.

I can't say for certain anymore but when midway first came out with their ar stoner brand/line they were made by bear creek. I worked in the warehouse there and received in plenty of the AR stoner branded items from them, what we were told before the line was started was that at that time there was only 4 or 5 companies in the US actually making ar components and all the different brands were just rebranded and sold at a markup. At the time we were also told that bca made the barrels and uppers for PSA and I believe either Anderson or dpms can't remember for certain which ones anymore that was 6-7 years ago now. They also told us they made components for some high dollar company as well but never would tell us which one. I no longer work at midway so I can't say if it still holds true about them making the products for them or if the other companies still get them from bca or not.
