Guys, nice review. I own 2-350 Legends, .223 Wylde, .22LR, 9mm Bufferless, .308 & 6mm ARC on order. All from BCA, All have been 100% Reliable & All Very Affordable & the in my opinion, the Best way to Learn How an AR platform works ! Keep up th Great Work. 👍
I appreciate the fact you went over more than just one rifle. Most reviewers just have one sample size and that doesn’t give you good data on the quality or lack of. I would only use these for plinking or limited types of home defense. I’m going awol if they put me in the trenches of war with one of these. Also to counter your one of your points, if my rifle breaks when I need it, I don’t care that I can send it in to get it fixed by the manufacture if I’m dead in a ditch. Good job keep it up!
It's a tool, a craftsman, not a snap on, but they do work, consistently, just as well as my Armalites and DPMS, and Springfield Armory M1A's. If something breaks, you must be able to fix it yourself and get back in the fight, just my experience 😊
I have a short BCA upper that I only use as a plinker and training platform for my sister's kids. I hand picked components and assembled my home defense gun, which I have no problem entrusting my life to. Anyways, the BCA upper is on an Anderson lower that I completed. It's never had a single failure on any components, and runs my CMMG .22LR conversion reliably as well. When budget was my main consideration, BCA was able to fulfill my needs, and I won't trash talk them, or anyone that can only afford them. For the naysayers, as a reminder, Aero had a run of bad QC several years ago. No company is immune.
BCA 10 in 308 2k threw it no problems not one malfunction. It will hold a 1/2 inch at a 100 yards and it has been to a 1000 yards. I shoot the 178 eldm with cfe 223 for a 1000 yards.
I call straight bullshit. No way ANY BCA is a fucking ½moa gun. I've had HUNDREDS of broken (catastrophic failure) BCAs come thru the shop. I repaired as many and NONE were capable of 4moa consistently (I've been shooting competitively since the late 80s including camp perry) You sir are full of shit. ½moa. Bahahahaha
My 6mm arc runs good and accurate. Took a few weeks to get because they fly off the shelves. But was worth the wait I think. Love the side charging handle.
I have AR stuff from all over the spectrum in terms of quality and price. I appreciate that they give us vets barrels and stuff like that around the holidays sometimes and purchased an upper from them because of that. Its fine for range stuff and better than nothing. I was underwhelmed with the upper for sure. The coatings seemed kind of poorly applied and the fitment was meh. That being said, I wouldn't recommend them to a friend and would most likely direct them to PSA for budget friendly AR components. I won't bash them either because I respect any company going out of their way to make affordable firearms for the masses. I agree with the saying that the best AR is the one you can afford.
I like your BCA'S . I REALLY like bca i have 3 of there barrels and two of there uppers. I went through 850 rndsz of 7.62x39 and had oem extractor and firepins fail . Got extras. I clapped it out with new handguard and mft stock fde . Love it!
I bought one of their uppers that had a problem. The sent me a call tag and then returned it to me a week later perfect. I later bought two more uppers because of the customer service. It’s been a few years now and all three have been flawless. Granted, I don’t shoot as much as I wish I did…
They sent me an extra extractor for my 7.62 because i heard it was an issue. Gun has a binary in it and run it often. Probably 5000 rounds through it and still have the spare. I got lucky from my knowledge. Great guns and uppers. Go over it as you should any gun you buy. Locktite the screws and torque them, including the gas block, but if you do that and clean them like any other firearm you’re good to go
My first ar from bca was a total show. Chambered in 6.5 Grendel. Everything was loose including the barrel nut. Extractor broke within a couple mags. Side charger bolt bent from trying to get the stuck shell out. I put it on a psa lower. And it shot horrible groups. Since I swapped barrels to x39. I put together a 556 blem kit from psa and was flawless. I really like the side charger so I just ordered a x39 pistol upper. I checked and loctited the entire upper and was surprisingly pleased with it. 20rd Duramags are definitely the best for the caliber. Asc worked the best with the Grendel
Bought one of the right side charging, 223 varmint uppers a couple of years ago, after it had a bunch of 5 Star reviews. Just the upper. Put it on a Wilson Combat lower. Runs fine. Side charger is nice as it doesn't get in the way of a large optic. 🤠
My one upper I own has been rock solid and has never had an issue to this date. I am quite happy with it for the price and quality of my particular piece. Glad I took a chance.
Had feeding issues on 7,62x39. extractor and firing pin isues . I was going to change to adgustable gas block and the original gas block had no screws.. Illegal alien quality control
Good comments made on various problems found with these uppers. I own various BC uppers in different sizes, calibers, side and conventional as well. My experience has been with poor quality control. I strongly recommend before using any of them is to polish the chambers as I found all of them to be rough, therefore, creating feeding problems. I also recommend to buy enhanced firing pins for any BC bcgs as I had 100% failure with the BC enhanced firing pins. Buy enhanced firing pins other than BC and you will be alright, The 7.62x39s problems have been the most problematic with high capacity mags. I am currently sung the 10 mags with good success. Also, a very important piece to replace is the bolt ejector. The bolt ejector will not hold long because is too thin. I purchased the phosphate bcg ejectors from Right to Bear Arms and none of them have broke. After doing these upgrades, all uppers are working smoothly. Hope these points help others in getting their BC pieces in good working order.
I have great luck with asc 20 round mags, d&h 30 rounds have operated flawlessly, as well as the 28 rounds c-products duramags, I even have a 30 round promag that works perfectly, after a little fileing 😂
The 7.62-39 comes with the enhanced fireing pin but I had the same problem with the extractor other than being a little bit heavy (I got the 16 inch heavy barrel) it is accurate and runs good with ASC 20 round magazines
I have a 16" 223 wylde and a 18" heavy barrel .450 bushmaster that I deer hunt with it in indiana . Both of them have been 100% reliable and both very accurate
I'm glad there are cheap options for those without a huge budget to spend, but only buy BCA if you really have no other choice. BCA's QC is more about "fuck it, ship it out, we'll let customers find the issues" vs "we make sure we get it right the first time." You may get a good one, but the chances of you running into issues is way higher than pretty much any other rifle company.
Very accurate assessment. Although I had a 300blk with an improperly reamed chamber result in an DOOB and that was extremely dangerous. No more bca for me
As a left handed shooter that right handed side - charger is PERFECT for me. I am right handed left eye dominant and not counting .22 lr LEARNED to shoot rifles in the Army with m-16 A3 LEARNING very early with that rifle to use a bent stripper clip in the ejector port cover as an improvised brass deflector to keep VERY HOT BRASS out of my right elbow pit. I love the AR with that side charging handle. A pistol I can shoot with either hand still aiming with my left eye but a rifle (including pistol length rifle) is going to be fired left handed. That charging handle deflects the rounds forward YEAH!!!
I have 3 bca uppers . A .223, 7.62×39 & .22. 2 of the uppers are on PSA lowers the .22 is on a polymer lower I bought brand new for 40.00 complete and it shoots so smooth. I haven't had one problem with any of my uppers with 300 or more rounds out of them. Good video .
I love my 20'' 1:8 .223 wylde upper from BCA. She ain't pretty but she has been an absolute hog slayer out of the box, and I haven't had a hog run off on me since I started using an un-neutered barrel. Prints nice tight 5 shot groups at 100, best being 1 1/4'' with 5.56 62g PPU M855. I've only tested 55 and 62 and was satisfied with the 62 groupings. Could probably get sub-moa out of it if I'd use the right ammunition, hahaha. Whatever, I don't think the hogs care what I use.
My son has a 458 socom he purchased from these guys It doesn't feed right he sent it in they had it for about 7/8 months and after several dozen calls they finally sent it back it doesn't look like that they did anything to it but stick it in a different box and finally sent it back with the exact same problem when my so called they told him that that no there problem
Other than one broken extractor the 7.62-39 is accurate and runs good on an 80percent lower milled out at home with a mil spec lower parts kit (they come with an enhanced fireing pin) building the 308 was a learning experience you have to get a longer buffer tube because of the long bolt carrier needs more room to travel far enough back, now functions good except for the bolt catch was the wrong one in the parts kit, they just need a good going over before shooting to make sure everything is tight and staked properly and they are a little bit on the heavy side ASC magazines work best for the 7.62-39 in the 20 round size, the 308 will feed with any brand magazine
I built a 308 bca with psa lower and after sending back bca 3 times I finally got one that was close enough to fit. No issues now. But might have to grind down to make it fit not much but a little bit went a long way. Budget 10.5 next for a ghetto honey badger😅
Bear creek hammer forged barrels are made on GFM equipment which is owned by Steyr Austria out of 4150 steel bolt and carrier ? But barrel should go distance
I own 2 of their uppers. A 7.62x39, and the 12.7x42. Both have been great, but both are mag specific calibers. Duranag makes a stainless steel 7.62x39 mag that is especially for those wedge shaped cartridges. Only the very bottom portion of the mag is curved. Never had a feed issue using them. On the Beowulf my main suggestion is get a good muzzle brake from the start. The little spiral cut flash suppressor that comes on it will leave your shoulder purple for a week. Also it needs a 12.7 or at least 450bm magazine. I tried modifying several different multi caliber mags myself and always had feed problems. And even with a 450bm mags you need to dremmel out a deeper crescent in the front edge of the mag so those big .50Beowulf casings don't catch on the edge during the feed cycle.
YOU NEED TO HEAD CHECK THE 76. CHAMBER, BECAUSE I HAD A ROUND GET STUCK IN THE CHAMBER AND THE GOOD THING IT WENT OFF WHEN GUN WAS FACEING DOWN. ( NO ONE GET HURT)
Have 5 uppers 1-6.5g, 2-7.62x39, and 2-300blk. One 300blk barrel had a defective chamber resulting in a DOOB that completely destroyed the bolt and made the upper receiver trash. both 7.62x39 uppers had improperly torque barrel nuts (don't ask how I found that out) . The uppers that worked did shoot very accurately. You get what you pay for
Do you have experience in building an SBR in 300blk (5"-6" barrel)? - If so, do you have a preferred brand for the upper and lower? (Or a preferred brand for the completed gun?) Thanks
I had one issue with a 12.7x42 BCA upper. I sent it back for repair and had it back in 2 weeks. No cost to me. So far no other notable problems with a dozen or so BCA uppers in a wide variety of calibers.
We are glad to hear you got it fixed. We like to hear from our TH-cam family how the manufactures are responding and the customer service they provide.
I have ordered more than two or three items from BCA, in the past, and have defended their products online. Just called to check on the status of an order for a single barrel due to the delay in shipping. The sales rep said up to 14 days to even ship a single barrel FedEx. When I asked if it would be cheaper to just cancel my order and go to a store and get a barrel, he agreed. $78.00 barrel, $25.00 shipping. and up to 14 days to even ship. I have defended BCA more than once, but now??? I complained, and they now have canceled the order, The barres is no longer in stock amazing. BCA responded that the barrel had gone out of stock after my order,. Imagine that, Isn't it amazing how it went out of stock immediately after i complained, yet not 30 minutes before complained and not an hour after it was still showing available. Imagine that. Oh, and they have refunded my payment, might receive it within the next week. Now that is great customer service if I ever saw it.
One trigger we like to use is the palmetto state single stage 3.5 lb trigger. It has very similar performance as our cmc trigger but for much cheaper. They go for $89 but you can see them on daily deals for $79.
My x39 bca upper was good for nearly 2k rounds, then a lug sheared off the bolt, bca sent me a new bolt, and a new carrier even though I only sent them them just the bolt, however the extractor broke on the new bolt within less than 150 rounds 😮 I never had an issue with the original don't know if the quality went down, or I just got unlucky? Also the customer service at bca these days is absolutely atrocious, they used to be great, now they ignore your emails and your messages, they have ignored me for the last 6 months regarding an ar10 upper I'm having warranty problems with. So bottom line, yeah for the money it's a good base line, but their support is terrible and your odds of getting a bad upper/rifle is worse now than it was in the past.
I’m a big fan of Bear Creek Arsenal and I own both traditional and side charging rifles of theirs BUT with side charging bcg’s from them you’re locked into their items. You can’t upgrade or replace the bcg from another company. That’s the hook.
We agree, they are producing a pretty good product at an affordable price point. We look forward to continuing to monitor the products as they advance.
Sounds like you need an adjustable gas block as your rifle is overgassed and cycling too violently. I have an 18'' 7.62x39 BCA upper and I had to do that (I broke the firing pin first, and then extractor shortly after). I replaced the firing pin with a RedxArms enhanced one and installed the new extractor once it came in. (I received a replacement from BCA 4 days after they broke, emailed them about it immediately after it happened. If you want customer service, email is the way to go for future reference.) Since I threw on the adjustable gas block, I haven't had any issues, and the recoil impulse is much softer. BCA sells superlative arms adj gas blocks for around 90 bucks on their website.
We have 3 different 7.62x 39 uppers from them and haven’t had that issue. We primarily shoot steel cased ammo out of them also. But we will definitely let you know if we have any issues.
Cheap doesn't mean bad and expensive doesn't mean good. Seen a lot of junk of both over the last 50 years. Just try and stay away from MIM (metal injection molded gun parts) when possible. Some companies like Tisas for example in Turkey are getting rid of MIM because of issues.
Some of those are running really gassy. It's a good thing you didn't run them suppressed or you'd induce even more wear on your parts than you already are.
So yes, as long as these bca uppers are in spec and barrel nut, gas block and all hardware torqued properly, these should all work. But it's the inconsistent qc and tolerances that will cause the gun to fail before a better quality rifle. I definitely think it makes a great range toy, but wouldn't ever suggest using it for self defense
For a first AR it would be much better to just save up a short bit longer and build a quality AR as opposed to scraping the literal bottom of the barrel and hoping for the best. You can even do your own lay away program. First you catch a PSA complete lower on daily deal for $119, then you grab a Microbest BCG next paycheck, basic Aero upper $370, throw a HS403 on top when you can and a case of ammo now you have a great first rifle (with an optic) for around $800. In the end you will be much better served being diligent with your purchase decisions and having a rifle you can be proud of not just running off to the cheapest easy route you could find. AND BEFORE YOU START YES I KNOW YOUR 7.5" 5.56 BCA SHOOTS 1/4MOA AT 25 YARDS AND HAS NEVER GIVEN YOU ANY PROBLEMS IN THE ONE HUNDRED AND NINETEEN ROUNDS YOU HAVE PUT THROUGH IT.
@@jimgenksxxl might be the problem I bought the mag so long ago from a gun store so I can’t tell you what brand it was I’ll try a different mag and see what happens
Oh yeah multiple views of many many Bear Creek AND Palmetto State Armory weapons reviews show that they are VERY acceptable quality including PSA Glock clones, AND AK clones as well. I trust my life to these weapons just like as a soldier I trusted my life to a M-16 that had a replacement value (for Uncle Sam) of about ~$150 in 1982 PRIME EXAMPLE th-cam.com/video/SUu0URXtV1o/w-d-xo.html

Me neither... they offer exceptional value for the civilian market

(Or a preferred brand for the completed gun?)
Thanks
I had one issue with a 12.7x42 BCA upper. I sent it back for repair and had it back in 2 weeks. No cost to me. So far no other notable problems with a dozen or so BCA uppers in a wide variety of calibers.
We are glad to hear you got it fixed. We like to hear from our TH-cam family how the manufactures are responding and the customer service they provide.
Hey guys great reviews, what about their pistols tho? Like the grizzly? Does anyone know if that pistol is a quality buy?
Will you please tell us what was the fastest trigger that you shot? Do you have any recommendations? Thanks, Randy
One trigger we like to use is the palmetto state single stage 3.5 lb trigger. It has very similar performance as our cmc trigger but for much cheaper. They go for $89 but you can see them on daily deals for $79.
Thank you very much, I will definitely try them
My x39 bca upper was good for nearly 2k rounds, then a lug sheared off the bolt, bca sent me a new bolt, and a new carrier even though I only sent them them just the bolt, however the extractor broke on the new bolt within less than 150 rounds 😮 I never had an issue with the original don't know if the quality went down, or I just got unlucky? Also the customer service at bca these days is absolutely atrocious, they used to be great, now they ignore your emails and your messages, they have ignored me for the last 6 months regarding an ar10 upper I'm having warranty problems with. So bottom line, yeah for the money it's a good base line, but their support is terrible and your odds of getting a bad upper/rifle is worse now than it was in the past.
Great review. I have their 7.5 556 on a psa lower. It's a plinker/range toy but I would trust it to help with "unwanted guests"
Mine came overgassed af
@11:18, which caliber is being fired? It seems like it's hitting so hard.
7.62x39
What fde muzzle devises are those looking to get one for a 300 blackout

I’m a big fan of Bear Creek Arsenal and I own both traditional and side charging rifles of theirs BUT with side charging bcg’s from them you’re locked into their items. You can’t upgrade or replace the bcg from another company. That’s the hook.
We agree, they are producing a pretty good product at an affordable price point. We look forward to continuing to monitor the products as they advance.
Have you ever broke an Extractor on the 762 by 39? I have twice?!

I see BCA as the Hi-Point of the AR world.
What are the FDE muzzle devices?

I bought two uppers 223 16 and 308 16 both never functioned no more bca for me
You dudes twins? Helpful review 👍
We aren’t but we might as well have been 😂
I have bear creek. Great company but they are heavy compared to bcm
What triggers are y'all running?
We had a mixture of cmc 3 pound, psa custom drop in and mil-spec triggers
No point using bca when psa is the same price and actually works
Anyone here have experience with .17 hmr upper from BCA? I found a few videos but I'm broke, and I need more info before I give up dinner for a month.
Torture test needs to happen.
Hang in there, we do plan to further put these to the test!
Could have made the video in 30 seconds. I like bear creek they are cheap and can be great guns. There done.
Stop nit picking

Poor Reno May.
Reno is about to have a heart attack
How many illegals are still working at BC? Seems contradictory for a 2A company to employee illegals.
Sorry, we are not familiar with that.
@@ChamberOneTactical there was a huge TSA bust at their factory. Think they arrested 28 illegals .
Cheap junk
Complete garbage bought their 450 bushmaster jammed every single shot
What buffer weight and spring did you use for it?
What mags did you use?
@@jimgenksxxl Good question.I just don't see one jamming every shot without it being something like that.
@justinmurray4652 I know that 350 legend, 450 bushmaster,and 7.62x39 are very mag specific rounds
@@jimgenksxxl might be the problem I bought the mag so long ago from a gun store so I can’t tell you what brand it was I’ll try a different mag and see what happens
JUNK!!!!!
I see the peasants of Copium from the land of "JuSt As GuD" have shown up to defend their legacy.
Shoot me lights are ridiculous. Don’t bother trying to put one on your gun and you won’t have the switch pad issue. Your welcome.
They used to have a full pic rail on the top, my 16" 7.62x39 has one.
Beautiful Backdrop! 😉 Been trying to get a hold of you guys to ask a couple questions. do you have an email I can use?

Oh yeah multiple views of many many Bear Creek AND Palmetto State Armory weapons reviews show that they are VERY acceptable quality including PSA Glock clones, AND AK clones as well. I trust my life to these weapons just like as a soldier I trusted my life to a M-16 that had a replacement value (for Uncle Sam) of about ~$150 in 1982 PRIME EXAMPLE th-cam.com/video/SUu0URXtV1o/w-d-xo.html
