the thing i like the most about milo isn't his airy, clear, dreamy production or high level of coherence and depth in his lyrics, it's just how...soothing his voice is. i'm serious. he just sounds so calm at any point, even when he's spitting fast.
I love Milo's music and he seems like and interesting and chill dude, never really understood all the hate he gets. But yeah, being a fan of jazz and jazz rap myself and enjoying more energetic and 'hardcore' flows from hip-hop, I gotta say this is potentially his best piece of work
+foxking39 he gets hate because his personality can be extremely rotten (and he's arguably racist). I like his music but I understand why people hate him.
+branlife yeah, I have to agree. For some reason I hate the fact that I love this because you just sound like the biggest fuckin backpacker when you're like "I like alternative spoken word jazz hip-hop from a guy that talks about philosophical ideologies"
+foxking39 In the past I've been annoyed at his namedroppy style of rap with regards to literary references and allusions for two reasons. 1. His subject matter is incredibly surface level in comparison to the allusions he makes, which gives the impression that he is a sad hipster complaining about his English Major coursework 2. The namedrop style he has means that it's not all that original, there's very little (often no) interpretation, he tends to introduce philosophical concepts and names without interpretation
Really dug this album. Having Kenny Segal produce all the beats contributed to such awesome flow and consistency throughout. These two really complimented each other incredibly on this album.
When someone underrated drops a record everyone in the comments are all like "review this ___" etc. at least comment on the review or the album before requesting a record for him to review
Saw Milo and Open Mike Eagle last night and they were excellent live. The mood was very unique for both of them. Kenny Segal, and another artist who I can't remember the name of unfortunately, set this relaxed, enveloping murky pool of sound that Milo laid his intricate lines over. Open Mike Eagle was constantly witty, sharp and aggressive and just brought the adrenaline up in a great way. It was dope. Two different styles, both very interesting and enjoyable. Highly recommend seeing Milo as well as Open Mike Eagle live if you get the chance. Also, feeling a light 9 on So the Flies Don't come. Great Album.
+Ethan Strong he barely reviewed the first Chvrches album and the second album bring little new to the table, so doubt that. He said he was going to review Deafheaven, it comes out on October 3rd, so maybe he actually is buying a real copy of it.
This is probably the number one album I’d kill to have on vinyl and have no idea how to find it, I don’t think I’ve ever even seen a vinyl of it. I have some pretty rare stuff I even have all my favorite billy woods and Griselda albums and those weren’t easy to find, but this one is the holy grail at this point
First off, as I've said before, thanks for introducing me to milo back in 2011. And I'm glad you picked up on what I did, where he was frustrated with his audience, and the world around him. He's actually talked about this, where the origin for this album was people in his audience not realizing, or accepting, his style and subject matter. Definitely giving it a strong 8, easily one of my favorite milo releases.
What a beautiful, touching, and moving review. I got a little emotional during this one. Fantastic work from both artist and critic. Bravo, gentlemen. Thanks for all the hard work.👏🏿👏🏿👍🏿✌🏿️🙌🏿🙋🏿✊🏿
I love witnessing the fascinating working relationship between these two creative artists. It's been a delightful experience thus, far. Thrilled for the future.
Milo's lyrics were off the chizain on this album and the beats grew on me a lot I expected this after 'things that happen at day/things that happen at night'.
Hello! I would like to know what you think of the band The Apples in Stereo and maybe more specifically their album "Her Wallpaper Reverie." From my understanding, their album "Fun Trick Noisemaker" has better production value, but HWR has a more pleasing sound.
just wanted to recommend an album by temples: sun structures. it's kinda old, not asking for a review or anything but I had a feeling you might love it. in my mind it's pure GOLD. check it dude, and if you like it let me know
did anyone else notice that before you click the video it shows him reviewing this album at home 0.o also... waiting patiently for that new New Order album review!!
Milo is the winner out of the contrasts of his flow with his normal calm self but he utses a more aggressive style too. Contrasts tend to make everyrhing more hard hitting.
Since I've been watching you I have learned alot. TO the point I can finally predict your ratings of albums when i listen to them. So far I've done it 2 to 3sih times. Kind of once with TPAB (doesn't totally count because I didn't love it when i first listened but I knew it couldn't be another 9 and it wasn't gonna drop down to an 8. Then I thought you would give big sean a certain number but yeah i was wrong. When I listened to WATTBA I was able to predict the 6 and after listening to STFDC i accurately predicted an 8. Just wanted to say thank you for what you do. You taught me what music is supposed to be after i spent sometime forgetting.
I don't think he's trying to present what he thinks music is SUPPOSED to be. I think he presents an opinion of what he likes and dislikes. Because at the end of the day music is art and entertainment. There's no true wrong way to make music because what people enjoy varies. That being said there are bad projects/artists, but even then there can be a product made showing they can come through.
This album gives me a very cool vibe of a 20th century disney movie that has a very old style dark message and also feels animated. Some what of a reminiscing feel to it. It's great!
+DihStyle69 they went a bit more pop music and strayed away from the sound of the first album quite a bit but I still dig it. Lorde's track and Super Ego are ballin' songs
MrMoony1235 i'm not saying the album is bad. it's still pretty decent and i don't mind the change at all but they really played it safe in some of these tracks. some vocals are a bit over the beats too like the weeknd on nocturnal (even tho i enjoyed that track) but i have to listen to the album a bit more.
this report has flow he should think about picking up some words,I heard a couple of bars in review plus sounds like he hearing lyric seeing the cover art and listen to the back beat of the music as well so putting all that information together to come with a review, big undertaking
Does anyone just review album art? Because this album art is stellar man. Who made it?
Alex Jackson. Check out his tumblr. Hella fresh.
+Me72
you say that like it has any objective or factual basis
+Trevor Harrison could i get a link?
Me72
but you didn't add anything to the conversation, you just STATED your opinion. you neither supported your opinion nor answered his question.

+branlife yeah, I have to agree. For some reason I hate the fact that I love this because you just sound like the biggest fuckin backpacker when you're like "I like alternative spoken word jazz hip-hop from a guy that talks about philosophical ideologies"
The hate is from his personality lol

Souvenir
Going No Place
Zen Scientist
The song is good man, but the production in this one is different, not too jazzy like the rest
I only watch because I like that one corner of your house. Unsubbed.
Really dug this album. Having Kenny Segal produce all the beats contributed to such awesome flow and consistency throughout. These two really complimented each other incredibly on this album.
*when the Anthony's away, the Cal will play*
Are you cal's brother?
+Face General He's a cashew

+Areeb Hassan I wish people would. We should campaign !!
Hey anthony are you going to review "Ballin Like I'm Kobe" by lil herb
+campfire247 He posted a pic on twitter playing L's. So yes.
+campfire247 i was boutta ask the same question. Lls
he might as well review Shy Glizzys FTO tape that drops today too.
+campfire247 I'm enjoying the shit out of it.
Compared to Welcome to Fazoland it was pretty shittytbh
According to Busdriver, Kenny's beats sound like throwing desks. Hehe, got to love it.
+Iasgoat Tymwpp hehe, totally!
+sun that would be Regan Farquhar, aka Busdriver, aka Driver

The "HEY! YOU CAN"T DO THAT" on An Encyclopedia sounds like Anthony lol
Will you review the following:
Chvrches
Disclosure
Deafheaven
Patience.
+Ethan Strong he barely reviewed the first Chvrches album and the second album bring little new to the table, so doubt that. He said he was going to review Deafheaven, it comes out on October 3rd, so maybe he actually is buying a real copy of it.
+Ethan Strong I adore the new Chvrches, but there's no way he'll like it. It's just not his thing, I think, and that's fine.
this new background is refreshing. feels more real. no complaints on the review or the album.
I'm surprised that you actually trust Cal to watch over the house while you're on the road. Did you think that was a good idea?
+SebaPrototype Cal's house now
+Cashew Chestnut are you cal's brother?
You've opened up my mind to many new genres and sounds, and for that I can't thank you enough
This is probably the number one album I’d kill to have on vinyl and have no idea how to find it, I don’t think I’ve ever even seen a vinyl of it. I have some pretty rare stuff I even have all my favorite billy woods and Griselda albums and those weren’t easy to find, but this one is the holy grail at this point
it’s pretty pricey on discogs. rory said something about a repress last year, so i would just hold tight if i were you.
how did u find the woods albums i NEED them
It is one of my top albums of the year. Also, you are the Alton Brown of TH-cam music reviewers, which is awesome.
First off, as I've said before, thanks for introducing me to milo back in 2011. And I'm glad you picked up on what I did, where he was frustrated with his audience, and the world around him. Dammit Anthony why do you always pick my favourite track as your least favourite 😭
LOL Same thing for me. Just shows he may not like what I like and vice versa.

Milo's lyrics were off the chizain on this album and the beats grew on me a lot I expected this after 'things that happen at day/things that happen at night'.
How do I find this on vinyl, it's impossible I swear
Souvenir from this album is one of my favorite rap joints of this year, easily.
I loved the absolute shit out of this album. I really gotta dig into more of Milo's other stuff.
is the "recent interview" available anywhere?
That's Mandalay bay isn't it Anthony. U in Vegas?
I LOVE this record. Thanks for bringing it to my attention Anthony!
I'm glad you liked this one, Arthony Raptano.
BUT, I have one question. When is your 2nd interview with milo droppin'?
He's already done two interviews with him
Michel Oakword Really? I've only seen "Interview w/Milo." What is the name of the 2nd interview?
+Nacirema it's a google hangout from back in the day. . Super fun to watch. I enjoyed it even more than the interview on the podcast.

*This album is sick as fuck.*
can you review the new kyle album, named smyle ???

Got two cassette copies coming in the mail! Can't wait. Really great record!

What do you think of New Orders new album? Chvrches? Kurt Vile? The Dead Weather?
I don't think Anthony realizes that Hemlock Ernst is actually Sam Herring of Future Islands. I may be wrong though
This is my favorite rap album ever. 9.8/10
