@@FukaiKokoro No need to jump down his throat. If there's a problem anywhere its that Dhar Mann, as well as most of wider society, seems to equate men being taken advantage of as nerdy, glasses wearing, gullible losers and women being taken advantage of as fat. As someone whose parents are BOTH nurses. The field is super freaking toxic, both my parents got let go (Well, my dad resigned) either due to workplace bullying (dad, he later resigned because it got so bad) or being thrown under the bus for something that wasn't there fault (Patient passed, my mum wasn't even in the room when this happened, had witnesses backing her up, and the boss admitted it in front of her lawyer). So like, there's a reason nurses are super short staffed. Being a mechanic seems like a much better job that'd actually have future prospects.
The thing I love about dhar mann videos is that even though the scenarios are ridiculously over-exaggerrated and simplified they STILL have to spell it out for you
The video was called "Mom WON'T LET GIRL Be A Mechanic, She Lives To Regret It" and neither of those things actually happened. The mom discouraged her from liking cars and then tried to get her to change jobs but never forbade her and she wound up being one anyway. And at the end the mom learned a lesson but still got to the hospital on time so there was nothing to regret. If they wanted to actually show what the title said, it would have been something like Lanie wants to work on cars but winds up being a nurse instead, and then later when they are in the car together and the tire blows Lanie doesn't know how to fix it so they have to wait for a tow and the sister gives birth before they get there.
What does Dhar Mann think sexism is? Like as dramatized (and sometimes oddly romantisized) his depictions of racism are, he at least seems to understand how it works. But he seems to have gotten his idea of sexism exclusively from comparing and contrasting family sitcoms from the 50s and 80s. like he watched the Leave it to Beaver dad talk town to his wife and then watched aunt Becky lecture the cast of Full house on sexism.
Women mechanics are actually sought after because of their attention to detail! When my mom was going back to college they tried to get her to sign up for a mechanics program all the time up until she graduated!
i remember in my auto shop class my sophomore year, everyone made fun of me and my friend in the class because we were the only girls. we did genuinely get a “you should be in the home ec. class.” they would also give us the easier jobs, at one point making us do book work while the boys went out to do something in the shop. we (my friend and i) ended up ditching class a lot that semester by just leaving because of how little everyone cared about us. the end of the class curriculum included disassembling and reassembling the pieces of an engine in one class period. we ended up in the classroom practicing a lot more than the boys because they were in the shop/ditching to look at and fix their cars. we weren’t faster than all the boys but we ended up putting more pieces back in the right way/right places than they did, just a funny story about how that weird old branch of sexism still exists.
I took automotive in high school and I was the only non-dude in the class... I'm also the only one that got an A. I then went into IT for programming and was the only non-dude again. The sexism in both fields is off the charts.

“It’s a good thing we have a mechanic in the family” -so I can directly benefit from her. I didn’t respect her until I found out she does things I want done personally.
Oh man, seriously relatable on many levels. No good deed goes unpunished. Today, I helped a dude jump his car at a gas station. He kept moving the black clip from the unpainted metal spot onto his negative battery terminal. 🤦🏻♀️ I would move it back, kept telling him to stop, and that it could short my battery. He said that's how he just did it before getting gas (car had been sitting for a year, he was getting it cleaned up so his grandpa could use it again, so heart was in the right place.) I revved the engine, but still no luck after 10 minutes. He was keeping his door open, and keys in the ignition, so basically the battery was just dying as quick as it was charging. Another guy comes up and moves the black clip back to the negative terminal on the battery, and I told him no, that could short my battery. Every tutorial, every mechanic I've spoken to, even the instructions attached to the damned clips, they ALL say to connect the black clip to an unpainted metal piece and not the dead negative terminal!! "This is how I've always done it," was his reply, and he walked away. 😤 Luckily with one more rev, the dead car started again and I quickly unclipped. I told him to keep it running for 15 minutes or it would die again, but who knows if he believed me. I was so close to unclipping and telling him to get someone else to help. I got a photo of the plates in case the battery shorted, because he would be paying for the damage. He said he really appreciated the help, but I just felt used. I showed him the instructions and he still didn't believe me that he was wrong. Another man came up and told him his way was right. My car didn't blow up, further enforcing his way was right. I'm so angry and tired. 🙄🤬😩
Don't feal bad about it, stuborn people will always believe that their way is the only way, doesn't matter who tells them about it. One time I was late at night at the university and a guy's battery was dead. Two proffesors (one from Mechanical Engineering and another from Electric) came to aid him. After 10 min or so, when they found the jumper cables and one of them came back with his car, the father arrived, they refused help and argued for like 20min about the way to connect the car, but the guy and his dad simply won't listened what the Engineers where telling him. Even when the father's car battery was also dead they where sure that they didn't made anything wrong. Guys with toxic and fragile masculinity will never listen to anyone other than their egos, specially with cars
I work at a car dealership. Every single aspect of the job that a female at my work does, from parts to sales to finance to even the back office title clerk, there is at least one person that will question and argue everything they say, but the second a male coworker tells them the same thing, they're fine. I had a woman once tell me to "get back in the kitchen, you obviously don't know what you're talking about" when she called to complain (she killed the transmission on a manual car that she insisted she knew how to drive) and they still made me bend over backwards to help her. One time, I had a male vendor complaining about something (I do accounts payable, so he was looking for payment of a bill I assume) and I told him repeatedly that I paid it by check, gave him the check number, and told him that the check was cashed by XYZ bank on whatever date. He refused to believe me, said he was going to report me to all applicable agencies, etc. I put him on hold and wrote down all of the information I had just told him on a Post-it note and handed it to the only male in the office (who, I will add, is not allowed to answer the phones because he gives out bad information) then transferred the call to this coworker. He put it on speaker so I could listen: my coworker said the exact same things I told him, and the vendor said something to the effect of "oh thanks I really appreciate it I'll go through my books again, I must have mislabeled it, thank you so much." Luckily in that case, my managers let me put the guy on our no-use vendor list.
a friend of mine just had to replace a 700$ part on her car that got fried when she gave a random stranger a jump. "how i've always done it" doesnt fly with newer cars now that they have sensitive computerized systems in them, sexist dudes. theyre a whole lot less forgiving when guys bang around under the hood cuz their caveman brain wont let them look up and follow directions

I just want to say that 'you belong in a kitchen.' is still an incredibly common thing to be said to a woman mostly as a 'joke'. I could not count how many times I've heard it pointed towards myself and other woman, especially in male dominated places like video games where I spend most my time. Thought I would mention that since Stanz reaction seemed to indicate they thought it was a bit extreme of a thing to put in a video about sexism.
I’ve experienced cars aren’t for girls as I wanted to become a mechanic. I was 12 and learning mechanics at a shop. Because school was not working for me as I was being extremely bullied physically and mentally.. The principal gave the ok for me to get credited for working at this local mechanic shop. I was sexually harassed by this weirdo until I left because that was no condition for a girl. And made me super uncomfortable. This guy was a tow truck driver. He knew how old I was too. Only one guy said anything to him and he kept harassing me. I am a little pissed because without the harassment I was having a really good time and enjoyed it.
It'd be nice if Dhar Mann girls into traditionally male interests weren't all dressed like tomboys because it gets kinda annoying when you see it so often. Like being girly and liking computers and cars or whatever aren't mutually exclusive. Clothes don't define your interests. All you can gauge is maybe confidence.

The thing I hate is that they only begin to respect her when she proves her knowledge of useless facts that in reality nobody would be able to conjure up on the spot. (Knowing the torque, cmon). Even if she WASNT able to prove them wrong - they should have respected her for her interest in the topic anyway
Yeah they should, but some people need a reason to respect a person besides just because their a living thing
@@celestialcreeper8736 it's kinda funny you say that I've had conversations with people about respect and who does or doesn't deserve it. The way I look at it is it's almost like a sense of humor nobody is the same and gonna respect every person and not everybody deserves it either rapists murderers drug traffickers fuck em fuck all of them none of them have my respect and never will. Some people say we shouldn't respect our elders which I disagree with unless they were a bad person in their life. They say we shouldn't have respect them just because they are old I think we should because they've lived they're life already are close to the end of it why should we be an asshole to them and treat them like they are shit hell that interaction could be their last one and you just made it a horrible one. The fact that there are never any male gold diggers in these videos is inherently sexist.

@@xoderota oh really? I don’t think I’ve ever come across that video but I’ll take your word for it. And knowing Dhar Mann, I wouldn’t be surprised if it was still somehow sexist towards women. His videos about ‘nice guys’ and ‘gold diggers’ are all breeding grounds for incels.

The thing I love about dhar mann videos is that even though the scenarios are ridiculously over-exaggerrated and simplified they STILL have to spell it out for you
perfectly described
"You're a mechanic and you know how to change a tire?"
I didn't realize you had to be a mechanic to change a tire. I've been doing it all wrong.
Also the “live to regret it” line is vaguely threatening 😆
sir/ma’am this is a dhar mann video. it’s meant to clickbait children not follow the title.
It would be fun to use dhar man video titles as improv prompts
yet the mechanic didn't know the difference between honda and hundai
What does Dhar Mann think sexism is? Like as dramatized (and sometimes oddly romantisized) his depictions of racism are, he at least seems to understand how it works. But he seems to have gotten his idea of sexism exclusively from comparing and contrasting family sitcoms from the 50s and 80s. like he watched the Leave it to Beaver dad talk town to his wife and then watched aunt Becky lecture the cast of Full house on sexism.
That's cuz he doesn't experience it and probably doesn't ask people what it's like
To be fair I’m not even sure if he writes the scripts but yeah I agree
He doesn’t know what sexism is because he’s a man(n)
Well, to be fair, Dhar Mann isn't white so he probably has experienced racism before. He's definitely never experienced sexism though.
Women mechanics are actually sought after because of their attention to detail! When my mom was going back to college they tried to get her to sign up for a mechanics program all the time up until she graduated!
i remember in my auto shop class my sophomore year, everyone made fun of me and my friend in the class because we were the only girls. we did genuinely get a “you should be in the home ec. class.”
they would also give us the easier jobs, at one point making us do book work while the boys went out to do something in the shop. we (my friend and i) ended up ditching class a lot that semester by just leaving because of how little everyone cared about us.
the end of the class curriculum included disassembling and reassembling the pieces of an engine in one class period. we ended up in the classroom practicing a lot more than the boys because they were in the shop/ditching to look at and fix their cars. we weren’t faster than all the boys but we ended up putting more pieces back in the right way/right places than they did, just a funny story about how that weird old branch of sexism still exists.
Dude that sucks and I feel bad for you guys. Sending some love your way 💕
I took automotive in high school and I was the only non-dude in the class... I'm also the only one that got an A. I then went into IT for programming and was the only non-dude again. The sexism in both fields is off the charts.
Yeah, Dhar Mann videos do real life issues an injustice by over-dramatizing them to the point where they seem absurd and unrealistic. So many people would watch this video and think "what ridiculously over the top sexism. This obviously doesn't happen to women in real life" when that sort of thing very much *does* happen to women in real life. It irritates me.

Wait, seriously?! The big thank-goodness-she's-a-mechanic thing is changing a tire? Not even like, anything that requires non-general mechanical knowledge? Something with the timing belt, or a minor engine problem? For real?

My favorite part of the video is when Stanz busted out laughing as soon as Jarvis paused on the dude about to laugh at her. I laughed 3x harder
I would've left
a friend of mine just had to replace a 700$ part on her car that got fried when she gave a random stranger a jump. "how i've always done it" doesnt fly with newer cars now that they have sensitive computerized systems in them, sexist dudes. theyre a whole lot less forgiving when guys bang around under the hood cuz their caveman brain wont let them look up and follow directions

Ignoring the underlying problems with the whole stereotype, the Goldigger Actress really is great at what she does. An MVP of the Dhar Mann Cinematic Universe.

It's commonly said to women, except when cooking is their occupation. Then suddenly men are better at that too 🙄
Damn sorry about that. I would love to have more inclusivity when it comes to video games but people are horrible as usual
Absolutely insane how people still use that as a way to degrade women. Come up with something new, that one’s been around for at least a century.
